  • We (Rowan and Scout) hate seeing people killing spiders so hopefully this will help some of you with how you feel when you see them! Here's a handy guide on how to safely remove a spider from your home:
    -
    1. Find a clear cup or glass and some card
    2. Approach the spider slowly and carefully. If you're freaking out, the spider will too! The slower you move, the less likely the spider is to even run.
    3. Gently place the glass over the spider and (slowly again) slide the card underneath it.
    4. Take it outside! If you're panicking, just lay the glass down and leave everything there until the spider has gone.
    5. Return to safety! Now you can freak out, but without killing the spider :)

Hi from Australia 🇦🇺. I have 32 Australian Old World 🌎 tarantulas in my bedroom. I was terrified of Arachnids, and then my dad died. I needed something to take my mind off him.Spiders threat pose first to warn you to piss off,if u dont take heed. They will bite you then. My biggest tarantula is 17cm, a big 3 year old female. We have the Sydney funnel web that can kill you within 15 minutes if u don't get anti venom. They're a real problem cause they have a really grumpy attitude and will crawl after you if u walk on their home by mistake. We have a few others also that are deadly. But yup, leave them alone and they won't hurt you.

I used to get upset about spiders. Now I leave them unless I have to move them.

In my opinon spiders are entirely innocent and have done nothing wrong, same as any animal. And deserve life just like everyone else.
Your argument is much more likely to win people over since its human centric and humans are human centric

What about brown recluse? I put spiders outside if I can or i just let them go, but I am afraid. Your video helped though.

Hey friend! I'm glad to hear you free spiders where you can 😊 as for brown recluse spiders, they're very hard to correctly identify - it isnt uncommon for even entomologists to be mistaken! There are thousands of small brown spiders, and one of the ways you can tell a brown recluse is that it has 6 eyes instead of 8 - understandably, many people dont wanna get that close to them! But the truth is they are nowhere near as dangerous as people think. They have an interesting bite for sure, it might go a little white or purple where blood can't reach the wound and become a sort of dip shape - however, it wont look much different to a normal bug bite 😊 the horror stories you see online tend to be extremely rare allergic reactions, infected bites or straight up infections. Theres been many cases of things like MRSA and staph infections being mistaken for brown recluse bites. In truth, if you do get bitten, it might hurt, it might throb, but it's not gonna kill you. If it gets infected you might be in a bit of trouble but it's not down to the initial bite.
I know I'm going on here, sorry! But brown recluse spiders are just like any other spider in that biting is their very last defense mechanism. They're very shy, and will only bite if they're scared of getting crushed. And their fangs also aren't even long enough to pierce clothing like socks or pyjamas which lowers the risk of a bite even further.
Brown recluse spiders are extremely misunderstood! The chance of getting bitten is extremely low and even if you do get bitten, youd probably be fine 😊

The Spark System Thanks Rowan! Very interesting but you’re right, I’m not going to get close enough to count their eyes! 👀. As long as Im not going to die a painful death, I will continue to either free them or ignore them and let them go o their merry way! Honestly I don't like to kill or hurt any living creature! Thanks for taking the time to write back! Lorraine G
