The reason for this is more what Jake felt in that moment and I am happy for him to get the same feeling we all have when we come back to the game despite it being 2 generations old.
@@BS-xb5ej I'd argue the simplistic gameplay is what enhanced the game. It takes focus away from the mechanics, and directs that focus towards the other aspects of the game, which enhances the feel of the atmosphere, the immersion of the world itself and the exploration.

I inevitably end up jacked up on enchantments and smithed gear, gaining the power of curbstomping virtually anything with either magic or weapons, and able to tank as well. I always play on Legendary difficulty, so whilst it's a bit hard to start it makes little difference in the end. I always end up bored.
I love this because I never understood this meme for the longest time. When I play, I am the exact opposite of a stealth archer. My first like 5 or 6 playthroughs of the game, I didn't even touch a bow because me like heavy armor and big hammer lmao
November 11th of 2011. One of the greatest first day gaming experiences of my life. Was in highschool we had that friday off school. Went to the midnight release. Was in party chat with 3 other friends playing the game. None of us talked for hours we were so immersed into the game. We all played from midnight to around 10am without saying much. Then my buddy Andy said, "im hungry" we all went to waffle house and each of us explained what we were doing in the game. We all chose a different path, different grind to start the game, whether that be dual weild, magic, or so on. It was just incredible.
Sounds really fun. I wish I also had that kind of experience. Instead, it was just me alone playing and with no one to talk about it afterwards. (my friends weren't gamers lol)

When it comes to lore, skyrim "elder scrolls in general" and elden ring are the greatest of all time. Both of them are really immersing and engaging on a high level
Bought it on 11.11.11. Played through every side quest and task, modding my way through it all the while until 12.12.12. No joke. Didn't really touch it afterward because I was busy with my own productions. Recently, I decided to introduce my daughter to it, and now I've played through 80% or more in a few months, lol. 💪😎✌️ Still a groovy atmosphere, gorgeous music by Jeremy Soule, and the V.O. work and writing were (mostly) interesting and unique.
I know a metric ton about this game. It holds a fantastic place in my heart, and to see someone else try it for the first time... It brings back memories

Elden Ring came really, reeeeally close, but it just can't top this one. It's clunky and janky as hell but it's just so beautiful, so special and takes place in such an incredible universe. It's never too late to play skyrim. It's a beautiful game and if you're like most it will stick with you. And if you really like it,modding it makes the game nearly infinitely replayable. I replayed Skyrim so many times for the feeling of being in that world, listening to the exceptional music while travelling the roads of Skyrim at night or sitting in an inn reading an in game book (some stories in those books are legit good, The Wolf Queen is my favourite series). I appreciate the world of Elden Ring, I loved the game, but Skyrim has a much more detailed and rich world with layers and layers of lore. In fact, this is one thing that bugs me about From Soft's world design: it's always some post-collapse world. It's well done, but too empty. I want to go into a city, meet people, trade, observe their lives/customs, their architecture. This is why, if you asked me what the perfect game would be: it would be Elden Ring combat in a Skyrim world (I really like the world of the Elder Scrolls).

I can't imagine how it feels to play this game fresh for the first time. After having played Oblivion, I was so hyped for Skyrim that a month before it released, my mom brought home a display case from the store and hid the receipt for a preorder inside for my birthday. The hype for high school me was unreal. I'd definitely recommend trying modding, at least for graphics and gameplay fixes such as USSEP (Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch). There's some that add fun side quests and all that but what TRULY makes Skyrim so unique for everyone and what brings us back is how much the modding scene for it has thrived and breathes new life into it every time we pick it back up

I tried it a few weeks ago actually. I got to the first town, started a quest, got stuck on a chicken and killed it, and upon returning to the town every single person was hostile and trying to kill me…. Because of the chicken…

Oh wow, YT randomly recommended me this vid decided to check it out as Skyrim was my absolute fav game for a while. I think until i discovered souls around 2016 give or take, and I mean i still love it a lot. Decided to check your channel and I see predominantly Elden Ring which has been my favorite game since it released (and it'll probs stay there until From release something of a simialr scope). So hell yeah, subscribbling straight away.
When I first got it I played back and forth 1st and 3rd person. And I got locked into a “gettin’ schit dun!” mindset. Side-quest. Side-quest. Side-quest. And I just wasn’t liking it. Which shocked me after loving Oblivion. Finally, I was out crushing bandits. It was night-time. I was using a two-handed weapon in third person, the camera seeing only ground, and horizon. No sky. One heavy hit or block caused the camera to sway around and I just barely caught a glimpse of something bright in the corner of the screen, but I still have other bandits to crush. Once the battle was over and a peacefull music took over I turned the camera up and … AURORA!! Neon blue and green. With operatic choir over symphonic orchestra! Tears of joy! The spell was cast and I’ve been in love ever since. And at times I swear it feels like SKYRIM!!! loves me in return. ( pronounced like Heimskr! )

Not bad for your first time man. Looking forward to see more of your videos. You remind me of the youtuber Zero Period Productions when he started his first Skyrim playthrough. He recently made a Skyrim modded version and the cinematics and his sarcasm is top notch.
Oh wow, YT randomly recommended me this vid decided to check it out as Skyrim was my absolute fav game for a while. I think until i discovered souls around 2016 give or take, and I mean i still love it a lot. Decided to check your channel and I see predominantly Elden Ring which has been my favorite game since it released (and it'll probs stay there until From release something of a simialr scope).
So hell yeah, subscribbling straight away.

When I first got it I played back and forth 1st and 3rd person. And I got locked into a “gettin’ schit dun!” mindset. Side-quest. Side-quest. Side-quest.
And I just wasn’t liking it. Which shocked me after loving Oblivion.
Finally, I was out crushing bandits. It was night-time. I was using a two-handed weapon in third person, the camera seeing only ground, and horizon. No sky. One heavy hit or block caused the camera to sway around and I just barely caught a glimpse of something bright in the corner of the screen, but I still have other bandits to crush.
Once the battle was over and a peacefull music took over I turned the camera up and …
AURORA!! Neon blue and green. With operatic choir over symphonic orchestra! Tears of joy! The spell was cast and I’ve been in love ever since. And at times I swear it feels like SKYRIM!!! loves me in return. ( pronounced like Heimskr! )
Love the game from day one...still love the game.

Absolutely gonna follow this series, love seeing someone play Skyrim for the first time!
