Hello Dr.Berg Can you please help me with my issue, I am having tiny pimples all over my face which is not acne, n acne creams are not working on that pimples. Kindly figure out root cause and suggest any remedy if possible.. thanks
Six remedies to get rid of acne: 1. Take vitamin D3 (20,000 IU) 2. Healthy keto diet 3. Intermittent fasting 4. Stop rubbing the skin 5. Cod liver oil 6. Fatty fish
Is this an actual doctor? I have never seen anyone recommend a daily dose of 20,000IU Vitamin D. How is no one even talking about this in the comments??!?!?! The bottles sold in stores come in 400 to 1000IU and you are certainly not supposed to take 20 tablets. Products like D-Forte that contain 5000IU+ are used to treat patients with hypoparathyroidism and REQUIRE A PRESCRIPTION and even those are taken ONCE WEEKLY. WTF??? please someone explain.
I take vitamin d3 with k2. Saw no improvement until 3 days ago when I saw a different video saying to add magnesium. So I started taking magnesium bisglysenate with my d3/k2 at night. Here I am, 39 years old with chronic horrible acne all my teen and adult life and my acne is almost completely GONE!!! I can’t believe it, I want to weep. I wish I would’ve known 20+ years ago
If you still have acne scars try dermatrophin pmg they are all natural pills and are the only natural way to get rid of permanent scars (they won’t b permanent much longer) look it up
10 years ago I had the worst acne phase in my life (at age 30) along with really bad anxiety issues. Turned out I was deficient in Vitamin D (my level was 12). Got it fixed with supplements and anxiety and acne has gone. My current level is 70 and I have a good mood and a feel of calmness along with a good skin.
@@MrVictorSlavov I used to take 2000 iu vitamin D and the level would stay between 30-35. About 18 months ago, my doctor recommended a higher dose and I started to take 5000 iu since then. Then, I included vitamin K2 with it in the last 6 months as it increases the effect of vitamin D. My last labs were in December 2022 and vitamin D level was 71.
did you go to the doctors to get that diagnosed? i am currently struggling with on-going acne for a while now and i am wondering if i have a deficiency of any sort. should i visit my doctor ?
When I was 16 I fasted for several days before Prom so I would look good in my dress. My acne surprisingly also went away! So, I knew my acne was at least in some way food related.
@@charnjeetbrar8611 stop eating anything with sugar in it, stop eating pasta and bread. Only eat meat, fruit, water, or go with no food at all every day starting at 4pm until you wake up.
@@charnjeetbrar8611omg Prom Feb 14? Ok. He says eat keto (basically no breads/desserts; eat healthy fats, protein & then fast after dinner til breakfast). You can do it! See if you can get outside in the sun at all, after school. Drink water. Good luck. Have fun! That’s the biggest thing!!! Keep watching this Doctor ❤
I wish I had had this kind of information when I was young. I had probably the worst case of cystic, inflammatory acne that my doctor had ever seen. Thank you for maybe helping the next generation not have to go through what we went through years ago.
I got rid of my acne that lasted all the way into my 30s without going keto. Definitely not a necessary step. I find that how much sugar I eat had no impact on my skin, whereas eating low quality/highly processed foods and foods with refined seed oils did give me breakouts. A combination of reducing stress, getting more sun and exercise, and getting proper nutrition and sleep are what made my acne go away. Basically, just become healthier, and it will show in your skin.
@@marceloaguirree No. I stayed away from all of that. Just rinse my face with water in the shower. No soap even. Every time you wash your face with soap you wash off the protective layer and oil that keeps bacteria out and helps your skin heal faster.
20,000 IU is a borderline therapeutic dose. There are conditions that could make this daily dosage dangerous for your health. Confirm a vitamin d deficiency with your doctor and only take that high of a dose under medical supervision.
I had horrible acne on my back as a teen and early 20s. Once I started eating well , quitting sugar and started drinking more water it cleared up. I actually went to dermatologist over it and what a waste of time. It’s really easy to see where your going wrong if your honest with yourself and take a look at your behaviors
@@vineethbabu778 it takes a while bud. Are you overweight? I was, and that was also a culprit. Also, maybe you wont be so comfortable without a shirt on, im just assuming i dont know obviously but getting sun on your skin helps tremendously. A day at the beach would do alot for you. Keep up with the clean eating, it takes the body a little while to rid the inflammation.
The issue is that people believe that the standard American diet is healthy (I.e. food pyramid) making you believe your behaviors are fine. A phrase I’m constantly hearing is to ‘trust the science’. Well the driving motivation in industry is profits, so which industries are highly profitable? Are there industries directly related to health?
When I was young I also had acne. Because I always had sweet tooth I suspected my acne was caused by my sugar consumption. I asked my GP are sweets and the acne interlinked? She literally said: NO. That was 30 years ago. I suspect nothing changed since then regarding the thinking of most medical professionals.
@@manikandangopal4409 please take it with K2 to avoid kidney stones! D3 gets in soft tissue and organs without K2 found in sauerkraut, dark meat chicken, eggs and some organ meats.
genuinely. I scoffed whenever I saw people recommend I drink more water, but when I actually did so in replacement of squash, hot chocolate, fruit juice etc. it HELPED.
I have been plagued with acne most of my life. As a teen, I was always in the sun, and since I grew up poor, I ate one full meal a day. My skin --- face and hair --- was very oily. I will say that sugar irritated it, but lack of it never cured it --- even with modest food intake. What I discovered in my 50s is that soap and washing my face with any kind was my biggest enemy. Now I rinse in the morning and evening with plain warm water and that has almost eliminated breakouts. I think stress and lack of sleep do contribute to breakouts and too much sugar. As recommended, I will increase my vit D intake.
One day, I got extremely emotionally hurt from a friend and my face broke out very bad that my mom took me too the ER. I was given a high dose of Tetracycline which left me with visible pores. I’ve taken every drug except Accutane bc my mom was afraid of the side effects. I learned to live with it but I wish I knew Dr Berg who is a true Heroine, educating people about health 😇
Honestly, low carb diet and intermittent fasting seems like the preventative cure for almost all ailments. Thank you Dr. Berg for your consistent and constant reminders. It's not easy for me to change my diet and snacking habits, but I'll keep working on it.
Well, it looks like God's plan ahead of man's works once again. Imagine if you did that for your spiritual life over your fleshly life. How much more of a fulfilled life would you be living?
Was coming here to write this. I'm 33 and have been suffering from acne for over half my life, and for the past 6 years took hormonal pills to try to sort it out - it was somewhat working, but I just didn't want to have to be dependent on the pills for life. Anyway, I changed to the Keto diet and saw a change. I've been off the pills for 6 months now and have an occasional breakout but nothing like before. I think the carbs were a trigger for a lot of skin ailments.
Yes, he’s made a few videos on to help women with weight loss difficulties. If you search words like “weight loss”, “perimenopause”, ect. On this channel/ his app / website, you will find his instructions ❤
Hey everyone, as an accutane survivor and someone who helps others recover from the sometimes nightmarish, long term side effects of that drug (as in may case), I agree with Dr. Berg's recommendation of 20,000 IUs of vitamin D. And I have a little tip: I take 10K when I wake up and 10K before bed. I find that staggering the intake helps avoid digestive issues caused by taking too much at once.
I had this roaccutane i heard it was really bad but i could never find any serious publication about long term side effects, i had bad liver problems at 29 was not drinking more than average but i had hepathic and digestive problems then i always wondered if it could have link with this "medecine" or should we say poison? I heard a schoolmate commit suicide in his student years and it was supposedly related to this " treatment". I also think i had natural deficiency in vitamin D all my life and my digestive problems could have start from here, my problems started after a period i didn't work and pass much time inside house not doing much sport, also my parents didn't allow my take their car (only for work) so i couldn't go often to the beach...
The best natural remedies for acne: 1. Take vitamin D3 (20,000 IU) 2. Get on the Healthy Keto® diet 3. Do intermittent fasting 4. Stop scrubbing your skin 5. Consume cod liver oil 6. Consume fatty fish Thank you Dr Berg! 🐱👍🏿
if there are hormonal disturbances none of the above listed are going to help...so checking for hormones should be done - I suffered with it for many years, and back then, that was when Accutane came out (isomer of vitamin A) -- that was the only thing that had worked for me. Of course, at that time, it was experimental and you needed to be on a lowfat diet along with getting pregnancy tested every month (fetal abnormalities) -- I can tell you that the emotional scarring from having cystic acne is something you just don't forget.
@@beingsshepherd no the american guidline is 10.000 for the people over 18, but if you are insufficient you can take 20k for 2-3 month and then take 10k UI/day, but however if you take 20k for the 5-10 years it’s not tossic.
One thing I actually never had to deal with is acne , I feel so bad for anyone that deals with acne I had a friend back in middle and high school that had bad acne and I was her friend and she dealt with so many unbelievably rude people on a daily basis. She dealt with acne and I dealt with being overweight . Thanks Dr Berg 😊
I have acne and blemishes and I don’t like it, I’m 45. I am so thankful for this to be my only concern, so therefore I don’t worry about my acne, I just seek ways to heal it healthy. Their are many people that have debilitating diseases, my heart goes out to them, not my acne.
@@deestefmorr what about when it scarrs you and theres nothing wrong with your diet and you get bullied and made fun of all your life through no fault of your own. Lots of people in this position dare not leave the house due to being stared at and thats just to start with.
“Of course it causes some slight complications like suicide and liver failure.. but other than that it’s perfectly fine” LOL the delivery of that was honestly brilliant 😂
I’ve been trying to find this kind of comment. LOL! Definitely curing acne >>>>> liver failure. I’m ok with liver failure as long as I have a clear flawless skin…
So I just came back from Florida. While there I noticed my skin was clearing up and had little to no breakouts. I was outside a lot and drank more water than I usually do. I also didn’t eat a lot. I was having too much fun in the sun to be hungry and drinking a lot of water I feel like kept me from being hungry. This led me to wonder if it was the sun? The water? Well this video pretty much explained why my skin has cleared up a lot within just a week of being in the Florida sunshine and having to drink a lot of water there lol
Doctor, I never considered this, but it's so true for my case! I am now in my 40s, and suffered from a sudden and terrible bout of acne in my teenage years. Previous to this acne outbreak, I always had healthy unproblematic skin. But the acne almost magically started up when I was preparing for my school leaving exams, ie, regular school was on break and I was staying at home to study. No playing outside, no walking in the sun (ie, no vitamin D). Now it makes sense!
Never had acne but I grew up with no sugar, soda, etc. and we ate a lot of fresh foods. Hated it as a young child, as an adult thank goodness my parents had such andiet❤
I can confirm this. A few months ago I started eating everyday within a 10hr window - 8am - 6pm and then two weeks ago I cut out sugars (cakes, biscuits, any sweet drinks etc) and now my skin has cleared up tremendously! Its amazing. I have suffered from Acne since I was 14 and now I am 40... so very happy to have found this habit. Plus I have more energy, feel more positive and my bowels are performing wonderfully. 😃 Sugar really is the devil in our society at the moment and responsible for so much unhappiness and health issues. Thanks again Dr Berg!
I had sereve acne for 20 years, until I found one of your videos about insulin last year and stopped snacking , my acne had surprisingly stopped. Thank you Dr. Berg.

As a male personally I believe me being lactose intolerant since I was a baby, I feel like I've lacked sufficient vitamins like Vitamin D growing up and it had alot to do with my severe acne as a teen and all the way into my adult life at 43 I've only gotten it under control in the past 4-5 years. Left with alot of enlarged pores and scaring though.
Chris, try Oil of Olay age defying cleanser and moisturizer. It's the cheaper products in the line, cleanser about $8 and moisturizer $9-10. It will change your skin.
@@ayadhussin6771 No, most milk are pasteurized and from diabetic cows, with body almost unable to produce any vitamin d. I think the commenter means conventional milk.
me too i have large pores and deep scars. It really lowers my self esteem, but there is some treatments that can help such as microbleeding, and laser treatment. My skin is very much better and almost in normal shape, not so bumpy anymore. Some products can also cure these scars like from Cerave
I have acne and I've watched almost every video and read all the articles on the internet but this is the first time someone's saying something that seems correct and is satisfying.
Vitamin A definitely helps with clear skin, I would eat Sweet Potatoes a couple of times a week instead of mixed vegetables and my skin would be glowing… Sweet Potatoes have 156% DV of Vitamin A
I worry about people taking that high dose of vitamin D with no idea what their level is. That dose could be a problem if taken long term. It also should be taken with vitamin k2. Best solution is to have blood test to monitor your vitamin D levels.
@@fathimaaslam8267 not too long. Just a couple days for me. Effects might be at peak after a few months. Note: the vitamin D soft gels are more effective than the capsules. I’d reccomend softgels
I live in another country and I want to tell you important information. You recommend eating fish in your videos. The cheapest fish oil which contains all the same substances as expensive fish is called: capelin. Vitamin D is destroyed at 100 degrees Celsius. The best option for preparing this fish for food is to place it in salt water with spices for 3 days. Or another way to preserve vitamin D is to cook fish at a temperature lower than 100 C. There is also vitamin D in fodder yeast (they are added to pig feed when they lack vitamin D).
My gosh, low vitamin D3 is responsible for so many ailments. For you folks out there thinking you can't fast just know I was like you until this man got me off sugar and intermittent fasting 18 months ago. I now IF daily on an 18:6 and never get very hungry. As I turned into a "veteran" later on I now routinely go on 2-5 day fasts every 2 months. The feeling you get at around 36 to 40 hours beats any street drug out there. Your not hungry at all, your full of energy, for some reason your extremely happy and productive and you could care less when your next meal will be. Ah the power of ghrelin! Best thing I ever did was going on this program, losing all that weight and getting off all those prescriptions I was on.
Did you find that you gained weight initially when you started intermittent fasting? I felt like I did as a result of overeating during mealtimes to prevent getting hungry between meals. Now I'm back to smaller meals and snacks when I feel hungry (or rather, when my sugar or insulin levels drop.)
@@brushstroke3733 No but I will tell you I was unique. I was consuming 350-400 grams of sugar per day through drinks alone. My first weigh in was at 13 days and I had lost 7 pounds. That really got me motivated even though most was probably water weight. I documented my weight and wrote it down every morning and evening for 8 months without missing a day. Ghrelin is your biggest enemy to conquer. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone that takes you to those sugar cravings and hunger episodes. Once you cheat by eating just on cookie you ruin a days work because you have spiked insulin the fat storing hormone for about 5 hours. I'm no expert at any of this but what I do know is the more you eat the hungrier you will get later on. I know that sounds backwards but it's true.
My acne went away as soon as i cleaned up my diet. I remember eating a whole pizza during a cheat day and the next morning i saw a fat pimple on my face for the first time in a long time. Told me everything i needed to know
50 years ago when I visited my first dermatologist and he said to stop the sweets, chips and French fries and junk foods like that along with taking vitamin A and using dial soap (antibacterial) and the acne will clear up. It sure did. Even now at 63, if I eat potato chips I get a breakout.
Vitamin D deficiency seems to be the base for almost every issue! I started having issues with acne @ 52-53 BEFORE I discovered IR! It had gotten better with time (increased D) cut back on carbs, but unfortunately I’ve been left with scaring on my pink skin because of it. The acne that I deal with is like grains of sand under my skin. It’s been, almost, traumatizing what’s its done to my skin and self esteem!
@@companyconfidential6624 They are raised bumps, but they never come to a “head”. If you ever do get one open (OCD 🤦♀️) it takes FOREVER to heal because it’s constantly producing these sandlike grains. I don’t even think it’s milia! It’s definitely systemic, whatever it is, as it will track under the skin. Does that make sense?
@@leah__gail it looks like keratosis Pilaris. For your body You can apply Amlactin, twice a day. For your face you can apply an exfoliant, a good one is the AHA 30% from the ordinary, just once per week. And did you test your blood sugar? It could be diabetes or insulin resistance.
@@nokateno No, it’s not rosacea as I don’t have the red patchy inflammation that goes with it. My ex husband has rosacea, so I’m familiar with it. I treat it with colloidal silver gel and retinol, which probably isn’t strong enough. It’s better than it use to be, but still aggravating, and it’s mostly on the left side of my face.
@@gpb1 Been several years since I’ve been tested for diabetes, but I really don’t have symptoms for that. Now, the Insulin Resistance, most likely, yes. I’ve had improvements since going Keto and (mostly) carnivore. And! It’s only on the left side of my face! I keep my pillow cases changed frequently and washed in hot water with bleach or baking soda and vinegar to kill any bacteria.
This honestly makes sense because I look back at when my skin was super clear without makeup and I was taking vitamin D and doing intermittent fasting. I fell off the habits because of a busy schedule but am gonna start again.
"Suicide, liver failure, but other than that, it is perfectly fine.". The sarcasm... 👍🏿🙏🏿 I want to pass this video onto a UA-camr struggles badly with this... I hope she watches this video. Great job dr. Berg 👍🏿
I tried all you mentioned and more. I finally gave up at 23 years old and started accutane. I am now acne free after 10 miserable years. Fasting helps everything
For those of you who are asking about the vitamin D3 dosage - 20000 IU is way too high of a dosage and nobody should ever recommend such a high dose. You DO NOT need additional supplementation of D3 in the first place, UNLESS your blood levels indicate a deficiency. Please consult a physician before starting any supplements.
So many Drs are so arrogant and narcissistic and completely unhelpful, unless you want prescription drugs. Nearly all the videos I’ve seen from Dr Berg are so helpful and pleasant. Thank goodness for chiropractors 😊 they haven’t been corrupted by the medical system like most doctors. (Also grateful for the few good medical doctors left in the industry!)
Completely agree. Dermatologists are the worst. One tried to tell me my skin problems were due to menopause….I was only late thirties. Horrible experience.
I suffered with severe acne until I 50yrs old! I tried ever known remedy to no avail. There has always been so much Disinformation surrounding Acne. I avoided sweet, chocolate, dairy and all those bullshit myths. In my late teens I had all sorts of chemical and light therapies from Dermatologists which only served to make it impossible for me to grow beard an mustache. Then I spent decades trying every new skin treatments and serums pushed on those of us sufferers. Don't know what happened, but suddenly after I turned 50 the problem went away on its own, but it left me physically and mentally scarred for life.
I can say personally I've had quite bad acne on my face since teenage years, and even in my early twenties I am still suffering from it. I have noticed that, even though it doesn't go away completely, it gets SO much better when I stop eating sugars from some days, and I treat my face with tea tree oil and hip rose oil. I have also tried hip rose berries infusion and I put it on my face which also helps lots. Some days I still eat some desserts on holidays and some days later I get some bad acne, It's difficult avoiding it when you have a sweet tooth...
A portion of acne can be fungal. So if you avoid oils on your face and in hair products, that could help with the remaining acne. Google 'fungal acne' skin care (and makeup and hair care). The Skin Care Science blog in particular was eye opening for me
Please take the vitamin D with caution guys, as in make sure you're not overconsuming them. I used to take about 10,000 IU/week (~1400IU/day), which is not even 10% of what is recommended in the video and although it made my skin so much softer, it caused pretty bad diarrhea+weakness. Now I aim for the RDA, which is only about 5,000 IU/week and it still helps keep my skin soft but now without having to go through diarrhea, etc.
Possibly, the brand of that vitamin d used unknown element because I have never noticed diarrhea or anything close to it on me or anyone else who takes a lot. I take up to 50 000Ius in winter and it’s helping me with all kinds of issues. I take Dr Berg’s but I know many people who use other brands of D3&K2 and never had diarrhea from taking big amounts. ❤
It definitely not the vitamin D causing your diarrhea. I take 20000iu daily without any issues and it has actually helped me feel much healthier. It might be you have a sensitivity to the ingredients in the brand of vitamin D you’re using.
Many people had acne when I was in high school. Everyone said it was Cokes, chocolate. I didn't have acne until I was in my late 20's and early 30's. I had sebaceous Cysts. I would go to dermatologist who would inject something into the cysts and they would go away in 3 days. When I didnt get the injection, the cyst would not go away for about 2 weeks. and I would be left with a scar that lasted for 3 months. No one ever said anything about nutrition.
I've noticed that young kids now don't have acne as much and I have to wonder if it's because they now know about hygiene, and it's easier to do laundry. When I was young many people still had no in home washing machine.
isn't 20,000IU vit d per day too much doc? i want to know your opinion since most of health article recommends around 4,000 (safe) and 10,000 at max, and also my 10,000IU supplement recommends to take it every other day.. so idk is it safe to take it twice daily
20 000IUs is safe. Add magnesium, zinc, healthy fats to increase absorption of it. He’s made videos on d3 absorption. Also his videos on vitamin d toxicity answer your question ❤
Every time I increase the calories my acne gets worse so I stop and I can't build muscle mass since I am always in calorie deficit for the last 7 years
My 17 year old son has bad acne. I read that dairy was a culprit in the bacteria that causes acne. He’s been gluten free since 3 years old… but dairy, he loves! He drinks a lot of milk, ice cream, cheese, etc. I changed to coconut milk and coconut ice cream and we’ve seen a big improvement. I will add vitamin D and cod liver oil and hopefully that helps even more. Thank you.
I don’t know about keto but the biggest difference maker for me was the cutting of dairy in my diet. Even an 80% reduction does the trick. Especially when it’s concentrated dairy like butter and cheese. When I have consecutive days of consuming dairy, I end up with a few acne spots on my face
Could because the dairy is coming from diabetic cows? As most cows are. Plus the milk is pasteurized. Does a lot of harm, even if not obvious at first.
To protect your skin from UV rays of sun, everyone suggests always use sunscreen all the time then on the other hand they say Sunlight is nature Vitamin D but then it causes problem to skin. How to solve this theory? 🤔
I've read that if you ingest too much vitamin D3 it can be hepatotoxic, being excessive to the liver and causing kidney stones. Anything you know about that?
@@mier37 Dr Burg actually has one. And there are many videos online with people who have shrunk them, by doing keto and some by doing vegan. I have them also and I actually know what to do but I've been inconsistent. But I've now decided to behave myself and shrink them once and for all. I would like them to go completely but if l can shrink them to a tiny size that will be ok for me too. What are you doing to shrink them and are you doing herbal teas and eating red meat for your iron levels?
@@mier37 l was doing 8,000 IU of Vitamin D inconsistently but I will now increase to 12k daily. I drink turmeric tea and sarsaparilla, burdock, red clover and some other herbs daily. And sugar is not our friend. Lol Funny not funny. I'm working on my sweet tooth lol
You are so spot on! I had used Accutane which gave me migraines, and the acne came back after several months of no longer taking it! Vitamin B5 cleared up my skin and shrunk my pores! I was always getting compliments on my skin from the B5. Just make sure the B5 does not have magnesium sterate in it!

This was definitely the best content I ever saw about acne!!!!! Thanks a lot🙂🙂🙂And well, I tried a lot and went to many doctors...I suffer from acne since I was a teenager and still do, I'm 25 now. Most doctors wouldn't even mention that the diet is important for treatment, some even neglect that sugar is bad. I can say that I notice a difference eating less sugar and taking vitamin D but its hard to change the diet. Especially eating no chocolate or sweets.
It's exactly true I had crazy acne back in 2022 I went to my dermatologist, got tested for many things, the only thing which I was deficient from was Vitamin D Took the supplements, and the acne went away.

This is the second time in my life I’ve ever heard a doctor recommend a reasonable amount of Vit. D. The first time was my doctor who recommended 50,000 iu per day. There is no upper limit established or mentioned in the medical literature. 20,000 iu per day is a reasonable amount of D, as far as I’m concerned. And merely recommending 1,000 iu per day is a ridiculously low amount for any adult.
the 20k in the video actually got me confused. Im currently taking 2000 IE (is that the same as IU? i guess (im german btw)). The pack is labelled as "high dosed 2.000 IE" and on the internet i find articles about "4000 is already way too high" etc.
Ironically, I had a milk allergy that was breaking me out as a teenager. After my experience with Accutane as a teenager, I would not recommend anyone taking this medication under any circumstances. Three years after taking it, I became a type 1 diabetic out to the blue AND developed osteoarthritis in my 20s.
Wow, that sounds a really bad experience. After several types of treatments as a teen (in high school I was called pizza-face by some of the boys, that was how bad my acne was with very oily skin), Roacutane was the only thing that ever helped me... (Ate balanced and did sport.) about 10 years after my oilyness & acne returned and I went on it again. No long term side effects. Was the best thing for me. I'm now going on 40.
It's not because of accutane itself but because of the dosage the doctor recommended. Most dermatologists are criminals as they suggest too high dosages....
I'm 61 years old and had acne badly in my younger years. I went to several doctors and tried all of their treatments for years with not much success. I found that getting sunshine on my face for 15 to 30 minutes a day made my acne totally disappear. Of course the doctors said that would kill me and I shouldn't do that. I don't have acne and I didn't die.
They tell people to wear sun screen to keep from getting skin cancer, and my friends who used the sun screen all have gotten skin cancer! I did not use it and I did not get skin cancer, baffling!
I had terrible acne for more than 2yrs when I was 18.Then i quit sugar and dairy and cleaned my diet.I got results during first month itself. I also started working out btw 😅
Another thing that I have found to be very helpful is using natural calcium bentonite clay. You can order online or find at natural foods store - you add some water into the clay to make a paste then apply to affected areas. It can be left on overnight and dries out the pimples without drying out the skin. If someone has a lot of acne, then leaving on overnight might not feel comfortable but leave on for an hour in morning or night then wash off. Of course, the right diet is going to help the most - but I have found this a great and inexpensive hack to dry out pimples overnight.
He missed zinc and a lot of other important factors in clearing up breakouts. I agree with him about fish oils and vitamin A. Different types of acne respond to different treatments. Acne can be due to so many different factors… a genetic tendency of over proliferation of skin cells, pore clogging makeup, food allergies, INCORRECT use of skincare products, etc. He gets around this I guess by saying “typically…”

May I ask what is your dosage of d3k2 and magnesium? Thanks.
I’m 77 and still have acne!
Acne is so unfair, even when the lesion is gone you’re left with scars that are permanent
If you still have acne scars try dermatrophin pmg they are all natural pills and are the only natural way to get rid of permanent scars (they won’t b permanent much longer) look it up
Topical treatments or remedies
Bone broth
They are not permanent they just take time to heal completely

10 years ago I had the worst acne phase in my life (at age 30) along with really bad anxiety issues. Turned out I was deficient in Vitamin D (my level was 12). Got it fixed with supplements and anxiety and acne has gone. My current level is 70 and I have a good mood and a feel of calmness along with a good skin.

Same. Wish I had this info at age 10 when my acne started.
Right! We have entered an age of sanity and beauty by using Dr Berg’s videos 🎉
Sorry for what you went through
I got rid of my acne that lasted all the way into my 30s without going keto.
Did you also used any topical cleanser or something additional?
@@marceloaguirree No. I stayed away from all of that. Just rinse my face with water in the shower. No soap even. Every time you wash your face with soap you wash off the protective layer and oil that keeps bacteria out and helps your skin heal faster.

Surprising how better your skin can look just by cutting down on sugar & drinking more water 💦
Lack of zinc caused acne as well and is most an issue in poor areas.
I looked up on Google and everyone is saying 4,000 iu should be the limit and he’s saying to take 20,000 so anyone know what’s going on with that?

Hey everyone, as an accutane survivor and someone who helps others recover from the sometimes nightmarish, long term side effects of that drug (as in may case), I agree with Dr. Berg's recommendation of 20,000 IUs of vitamin D. And I have a little tip: I take 10K when I wake up and 10K before bed. I find that staggering the intake helps avoid digestive issues caused by taking too much at once.
I used accutane as well. I think I got lucky though and haven't suffered any long term side effects that I know of. Good luck in your recovery!

Maybe you were changing some other thing at the same time you started to take that amount?
It definitely not the vitamin D causing your diarrhea. I take 20000iu daily without any issues and it has actually helped me feel much healthier. It might be you have a sensitivity to the ingredients in the brand of vitamin D you’re using.
Many people had acne when I was in high school. Everyone said it was Cokes, chocolate. I didn't have acne until I was in my late 20's and early 30's. I had sebaceous Cysts. When I didnt get the injection, the cyst would not go away for about 2 weeks. and I would be left with a scar that lasted for 3 months. No one ever said anything about nutrition.
You just wrote that everyone said it was chocolate
Then you said no one said anything about nutrition
What do you mean?
What about people who want to gain weight so would naturally be consuming more carbs but at the same time want to get rid of acne. Pls guide doc!😢
Every time I increase the calories my acne gets worse so I stop and I can't build muscle mass since I am always in calorie deficit for the last 7 years
Love your videos Dr Berg
Glad you enjoy them!
Thank you.
I wish my mom/dad was this considerate about my acne growing up🙏 they just chalked it up to age and left it at that. 😭

Based on my health history, this is true. I don't have numbers but my guess is I was often low on D3 and had a lot of digestive issues.
Try telling a teenager to fast or stop consuming so many snacks and you know what they'll say? Reply with "Then I'll just eat snacks as fast as I can"
Take vitamin D3 (20,000 IU) every single day, but prescription says 1 capsule D3 (20000 IU) every 20 days... Is this wrong?
Thank you! I'll be back here once my face become better through this. Manifesting, and may God be with me. 🙏✨
This is an awesome list and basically what I did for my acne. The only thing that's missing is drinking your water!

"Slight minor complications like increased risk of suicide or liver failure" Oh that's like no problem at all :D

Hello Dr, how many IUs of vitamin D3 would you recommend for shrinking large fibroids?
You might want to look into iodine deficiency and cysts
@@lorebrown5307 Yes I've read about that. Very good for those with low iron and fibroids.
I'd love an informative video on fibroids. I hurt and suffer from them every day and am seriously thinking of a hysterectomy at this point.
The red clover is a miracle for reducing blood flow each month. I believe turmeric also helps shrink fibroids. But again without consistency results will not be significant. And sugar is not our friend. Lol Funny not funny. I'm working on my sweet tooth lol
I had severe acne for about 10 years now I am left with acne scars😩😩😩😭
Can we take vitamin d3 and cod liver oil together?
Hello. Sure. Just make sure you get non-synthetic supplements.
Increased risk of “minor” complications like suicide and liver failure 😂😂.. Dr Berg I love your sense of humour ❤

Vitamin B5 (called pantothenic acid) is also very helpful to clear up acne!
You are so spot on! I had used Accutane which gave me migraines, and the acne came back after several months of no longer taking it! Vitamin B5 cleared up my skin and shrunk my pores! I was always getting compliments on my skin from the B5. Just make sure the B5 does not have magnesium sterate in it!
yes I can totally agree after taking b5 I felt the difference my skin actually started feeling cold and dry because I didn't have the tick layer of oil my skin would produce everyday

20,000 IU's a day?? Isn't that extremely high?
It's exactly true
I had crazy acne back in 2022
I went to my dermatologist, got tested for many things, the only thing which I was deficient from was Vitamin D
Took the supplements, and the acne went away.
Hi, how much vitamin d did you take and for how long did you take it? Thank you
Zinc is a key for acne
Thank you for your input!

I usually only have acne during menstruation days. But it's still even rare for me to get one during that time.
I suggest you check each videos he made on menstruations to make them healthy for you ❤

Whenever i supplement vitamin D3 above 2000iu i breakout.
Is it because my testosterone increase ?
This is the second time in my life I’ve ever heard a doctor recommend a reasonable amount of Vit. D. The first time was my doctor who recommended 50,000 iu per day. There is no upper limit established or mentioned in the medical literature.
20,000 iu per day is a reasonable amount of D, as far as I’m concerned.
And merely recommending 1,000 iu per day is a ridiculously low amount for any adult.
its all about the D
Taking even small amounts makes me very ill.
Wow we are all taking very low levels it seems. Goodness me. Especially those of us who suffer with low levels. My, my.
the 20k in the video actually got me confused. Im currently taking 2000 IE (is that the same as IU? i guess (im german btw)). The pack is labelled as "high dosed 2.000 IE" and on the internet i find articles about "4000 is already way too high" etc.
@@Luke13387 I would if you're thinking of taking extremely high doses of vitamin D, get your blood levels checked first.
@@maranathaacts1327 some of the sunscreen has actually caused cancer according to a few studies. My dermatologist actually told me this recently.

Taking zinc has reduced my face oil sebum 😊
Another one is tea tree oil. It dries out pimple as well.
He’s made earlier videos on how zinc is important for acne and he also videoed on make up and “hygiene” products, ect. to avoid. ❤
