Superb craftsmanship! One little improvement suggestion: The holes for the gate top assembly will be a liability for winter conditions, they will need to be filed to prevent water for going in.
Thank you Adam for the beautiful design and plans. My carpenter replaced my old fence between the patio and the driveway with the fence & gate you have in your video. And it's gorgeous! His wife loves it so he'll have to make one for her, too.
@AdamDIY great craftsman ship like always haha. This is an awesome channel for people who like me, who's not super experienced but wants to make something more than a birdhouse lol. I only took one shop class in High School 4 years ago, but you make it easy to follow/understand. great work keep it up
Great video and thanks for the time and effort. Thinking of making this but instead of the bolts and straight cuts, using half lap joints with some pocket holes. Which would be more durable and best for longevity?
Very interesting design, thank you! But where exactly you bought those cast iron inserts (you show them @0:33). I googled a bit and couldn't find anything similar. To be more exact, I found some pieces, but they are too large, and not that much variety. Does that store you bought it from send their products?
Hey! This is amazing, I’m definitely going to try this myself. I’m curios though (sorry if I missed it in the video) but why are the vertical slats alternated between thick and thin wood? Is it for aesthetic reasons (it looks real nice!) or does it serve a purpose too? Thanks :)
I’m building this plan right now with wide and narrow slats as well, it’s about looks. The big lag screws are the meat bones that keeps the joints together-
Before hanging said gate what do you do about weather protection . Love the design want to make double gates 9 ft gap will i need cross member thanks . Steve 🇬🇧 UK
#AdamDIY. .... I would take a paddle bit go in through the bottom of the two-by-four about 2 in and then I would drive my 3 1/2 screw into it to connect with the next board up. I don't have a biscuit joiner to sure does make quick work for what you're doing! You're doing a bang-up job thanks for sharing I look forward to hear from you God bless bye for now Ken PS:- how often do you upload videos bro?
hi Adam, thank you for sharing this video, I am going to make a similar one, can you please tell me where did you get those black color design pieces? Thanking you.
Ring the bell big thumbs up! New here to your community. What's the trip to your success I have a home improvement Channel with the mixture of videos... I look forward to hear from you any pointers? What would you suggest to improve my channel if you don't mind, and have the time. I hope to hear from you you're doing a great job keep up the great work God bless bye for now Ken ... how did you get Lowe's to sponsor you?
Didn't like the little rails with the finish nails. I felt were not durable enough for the outside. Maybe using a hardwood for that part in a different color to add contrast to the wood. Other than that nice job.
Jason D not at all! I still have all the projects ready to work on and can’t wait to finish the travelers shield. Things have been a bit tough for me lately and it has not been easy to make videos. I plan on getting a HappyAtom vid up in the next few weeks or so. (Fingers crossed) Thanks for the support!

Thank you Adam! We used your design and materials, and built our gate which came out perfect! We will be building our second gate tomorrow.

I just finished one as well. Mine is slightly modified but the core is your design. Thanks!

Great video. Where did you get the door latch?
Just wondering what style of hinges did you use.

What would be different if I wanted an oval opening?
Very nice. ty

Hi Adam do you have written plans. I want to make a side gate near my fron door
Before hanging said gate what do you do about weather protection . Love the design want to make double gates 9 ft gap will i need cross member thanks . Steve 🇬🇧 UK
I noticed no cross bar needed. Will this sag?
Hi Adam, where did you get the door knob/handle?
What is the height and width of this gate door? Really liked the design. Thanks for posting!
Going to copy your work. Hopefully I can do it justice. Thanks
When using a sliding miter saw you should push and not pull through the cut. Video show pulling through the cut
Cool video though :-)
What keeps the gate from sagging since there is no diagonal cross brace that typical gates have?.
Such small gate no need for that. For what it looks like the joints are very well done and all you need is good hinges. There you have it
where did you get that handle?

How tall is the gate ?
hi Adam, thank you for sharing this video, I am going to make a similar one, can you please tell me where did you get those black color design pieces? Thanking you.

An advert for a DeWalt mitre saw.
