Man, I think your channel is going to skyrocket! I watch Marcus, Scott, Felix, the NSF crew and others, and you're delivering a special blend of easy to understand deep looks into these topics that I really appreciate. See you at 100k and beyond!
can you list those name properly? only know scott
@@zukacs Marcus House, Scott Manley, NASA spaceflight crew, Felix Schlang from What About It.
Do you watch Kevin on Spacexcentric? He's my favorite.
@@johnpooky84 I like Kevin. He's extra snarky and always calls it how it is.
@@johnpooky84 I stopped he went a bit Right Wing Nutjob. Musk is heading that way unfortunately.
Once again, top quality content filled with information and explanation, this is quickly becoming my favourite channel for Starship related news.
A great balance to Marcus House
@@cabanford Yeh, he has a great channel too. As an engineer I like the deep dive element of this channel though.
@@schrodingerscat1863 Marcus for a weekly overview of happenings and Scott Manly - and now this channel for the fun nitty gritty 🤪🥳😎
Always on deep points. Well done👍
@@schrodingerscat1863 just watch both :D
Glad to see it reuploaded! I already know the first 18 minutes were great!
It only gets better!!
Very nice work on this Zac and CSI Starbase team. Always look forward to your deep dives. Thanks for this.
Thanks, I appreciate the explanations! This is IMO the single best channel for understanding what SpaceX is likely up to. Others have quantity, but your quality is superb.
Thank you!
My 5yo daughter and I just stumbled upon this video and she is completely enthralled! I'm shocked and proud all at the same time. Your delivery, wealth of knowledge and visuals are perfect!
Oh wow lol. That’s amazing. Glad you enjoyed!!!
And your daughter as well !
Know exactly how your daughter feels,..hope she keeps her interest 🚀
My daughter (about 5yo) had found something called zula patrol ( scifi animated cartoon) and insisted I watch one with her. I was amazed at the content, and the sponsor turned out to be the National Science Foundation. I was proud of her choice.
@@ingridhohmann3523 me too 🤞🏾
Zac and team, you deserve a tenfold in subs. As an engineer myself I really appreciate the quality and thoroughness of your videos. Keep it up!
Thank you!!
I am not an engineer but I love your deep dive analysis and your speculations. I was always surprised that Starbase was pouring the concrete base and then very quickly firing it since time for full concrete cure and strength is normally achieved beyond the minimum recommended. I would like to see the data on that concrete of its compression strength and temperature resistance versus cure time.
Really appreciate all the work you put into your documenting all the work going on. Beautiful! It’s an education and good learning part of study.
Fondag is chemically very different from what we know as concrete. It cures in days and afaik doesn't continue curing over weeks and months like concrete.
Incrementally stronger concrete ain't no solution to 33 Raptors, lol.
The longer format of these videos leaves me highly satisfied. I'm sure they are very time consuming to make, so thank you for putting in the effort we all appreciate it!
lol we are currently working on a nearly 2 hour episode
@@CSIStarbase Zack, I'd suggest you break it into two or three shorter segments for more views. But I'll watch quality content either way. Thanks.
You don't drop videos as frequently as some other content providers, but when you do its like Rods from God! Information dense, and always worth a second viewing. Thanks!
Yes I wish I could put them out more frequently. I’ll get there one day.
This channel is the most thorough, succinct, and articulate explanation of starbase launch system. Thank you for the magnificent review.
Thank you!
This is real high quality information ! Thank you for that. More please.
The next one will be out sometime tomorrow
Wow, it's the BFR hardware huh? See, that kind of thing is why I love your deep dives. I was aware of the deluge hardware being transported, but haven't heard a thing about where it had previously been installed from any other source. Great work.
Yeah, I was surprised no one figured that out.
Zack ...Hindsight ....prophetic episode.
I like this channel ! Not happy with the "Monday quarterbacks" With the unwelcome comments like: "Finally !, "Disaster! etc. This channel is much more level headed and its appreciated.
I love the way you explain things in such detail
It is nice and easy to
understand and is really enjoyable to watch and I can’t wait for the next upload!
Definitely my favourite channel to watch
Never been so hyped over a concrete vid!
Another great video, Zack! I enjoy your deep-dive style of content similar to Everyday Astronaut, but unique in it's own way. :)
Best fg space geek series on YT! You rock, Zach!
You can see the best and by far the most detailed
reports here at CSI. Invaluable information.
Thank you!
A thorough, clear and concise explanation without a bunch of fluff. Excellent video!
Didn’t know bfr infrastructure still exits. Like always, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. CSI team is awesome
yeah such great insight ! another amazing video by this channel :)
I wonder if sometimes SpaceX wishes it didn't, and had built something entirely new. Not having a flame trench for a rocket twice as powerful as the Saturn V Moon rocket is going to be interesting from a facilities maintenance point of view.
This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite UA-cam channels, precisely because of the detailed explanations and the obvious amount of research that goes into them. Thanks again for making these videos.
Thank you! I think I missed a few important details but will keep trying to get better each episode !
Hey I'm sure I've seen this before
lmaoooo
Very interesting and informative video. Will be interesting to know if acoustic/vibrational specs exist for the Fondeg material. Also, I wonder how the material strength you shared varies with temperature (especially at your estimated temperature range at the concrete). Would be interesting to know how that temperature at concrete level would vary if you approximate the entire diameter of all 33 engines as a single plume with ambient mixing at the outer ~10m diameter boundary.
Excellent content as usual Zack - Thank you!
Really impressive analysis, it was like being in a stage 0 engineers meeting and having them speak plainly for a change. All that research that you did without access to those engineers is intuitive and just amazing. I love having another intelligent and well-researched channel to tune into. Everyone here agrees apparently.
This man knows how to do investigative journalism....
Hello Zach....
If my postulation is plausible, the outer 20 engine exhaust, though reacting with the ambient air an be cooling down, that thermal cylinder wall will contain the heat plume of the center 13 engines. These 13 exhaust will act like a BLAST FURNACE on the OLM Fondac concrete. Thermal variances could exceed 4000+°F. The concrete itself will need some sort of cooling system to withstand the level of heat.
Regular frequent quality content! That's what space enthusiasts want!
More of this please!
NEW CSI STARBASE VIDEO. OH SHIT
I live for these things, man
love the magical bell music coming in when we get to the juicy bits!
Another fantastic episode. You and your team are doing truly incredible work.
Freaking amazing video !!!!!! Omg everything falls into place now!!!!!
Nice level of detail - will be interesting to see you cover the full static fire.
Thee Truth dressed up as Thee Speculation. Watch out or the SEC could jump on ya. Love this one. Great work.
Zack gives his creativity on every second of the video, from the intro, sponsor message and outro!
Thank you!
What you have pointed out seems really on point of what is going on at starbase. So thxs for the updates
Just going through your older clips; excellent research and delivery, Thanks!
I only watched the one video on "Water Deluge" and I must admit that I was a little miffed about how much attention was put to concrete degradation at the beginning of the video. However, by the end of it, I was able to see the educational value to those viewer's that might not understand heat transfer and the difference between the construction of a test stand and a launch pad.
Space X is overcoming so many groundbreaking technical challenges on a daily basis. They do this mainly by expecting imperfections and pushing new or untested subsystems to fail. Accelerating the process by eliminating guesswork and focusing on the real problems as compared to the imagined as is so often generated by commity in programs that actually care what society thinks.
It makes for great video. Because it's truly transparent. It is transparent because SpaceX is the future. And the future doesn't care about the opinions of the present.
Enjoyed the video. Keep doing what you're doing.
Mark
Honestly this video starts out primarily about concrete with a small mention of deluge. But then then as I was recording this they started moving all of that equipment from KSC so I was able to add more to that section.
I really love your stuff Zak, I check everyday for new content and can't get enough of your deep dives. I understand that you are trying to provide top-tier content while holding down a day job, and with all of the research, scripting and then editing taking a tremendous effort, it must be a really trying process for you. I really hope that you hit a sufficient subscriber count to enable you to do this full time, and the recognition that you are now getting in and out of the SpaceX community will hopefully speed up that process. You deserve a lot of credit for the engineering analysis that you do so well, and that other channels simply do not have the background to perform.
Thank you for your service and keep it going Zak.
Preach brother 🚀
I’m working my way there slowly. Thank you for that!
As always, great job Zack! Very well explained and engaging! Keep up the good work!
Excellent review. Thank you for the in depth engineering explanation of Concrete problems and the Water Deluge system.
ZOMG, that intro. The music, the graphics, the everything.... 🤤
Every time I hear about SpaceX and the other startups pushing the edges of what's commercially viable, I can just hear the opening theme of Star Trek: Enterprise.
It's been a long road with a long way ahead, but I feel like we're finally getting up to highway speeds!
I love these special reports! Also I’m liking the new intro
Wow super interesting video! Nice editing and full of deep info. Congrats
Just found your channel; loved the detail, nice work!
Good video as always, lots of things to look forward to!
Great job Zack & team, quality analysis well enjoyed
Nicely done...and nice job breaking down forces/impact the thrust may have on the concrete.
bring me tears. nice production
Very informative as always Zack. Thank you!!
This is my first time watching your channel I watched a bunch of other channels and as of right now I feel like yours is the best
Wow. Thank you
Nice deep-dives into the concrete issue and timeline. Very nice! Thanks for the videos!
Super interesting analysis. Glad I stumbled into your channel. Subscribed.
After leaving a comment about your virtual set on your last video, I have watched every single video, and joined your Patreon. I liked the earlier "highbay" virtual sets better. I think the table and vase being plain is what I don't like so much here. I thought the real chairs you were green screening in before were pretty cool. Anyway, maybe just an off the shelf material like a wood texture or clay surface for the pot would do it. Like the blinking lights in the background on the tower!
EDIT: Just noticed the pears! Love it. They work much better. You can tell they are CGI but they are more "real".
Of course your content is great, that's why I binged watched your entire channel. So above is just me trying to help.
I think this title sequence is really great. I loved the long zoom into the starship stacking shot a whole lot, but I think settling on one title sequence would be good, to give you a consistent branding. All your experiments are nice, but I know it's a lot of work.
I really enjoy your videos. They are very educational without being overly engineered to where the average joe can't understand them. THANK YOU. 👍
Good job incorporating the Squarespace ad !
Thank you!!
Man you are the most fluent speaker I have ever heard! Nick
Excellent reporting! Very interesting! Nice work! Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to explain how everything is working! Love your videos and am always waiting for the next one
Fun approach to the videos! Keep going!
Another excellent production, thanks for providing these deep dive investigations, very informative and satisfying.
Nice video, these updates are always fun to watch. The audio balancing and bgm choice is great too
Thank you. Geoff always likes to lower the music but I like the feel of it. As long as I’m talking loud enough.
Wow - just amazing work Zack and team.
Amazing video. Learned so much. Can’t wait for the next one.
the knowledge that they are doing it for the first time with no reference... Can't respect that any more. We are witnessing a major turning point in human expansion. I am very proud.
You’ve become a pro at this! Ma man! Launch day and your video analysis of it is gonna be something else!
Thank you!!!
Love your videos; keep 'em coming!
Another great analysis! I'm glad to hear that the new concrete mix had not been used before the last static fire. I was beginning to think that the concrete problem could not be solved. Hopefully, there will be no more spalling and no more supersonic projectiles that could cause huge problems to Stage Zero or the booster itself. Looking forward to a very busy 2023 at Starbase and hoping to see some of them in person.
Excellent format and presentation!
Another great video! Always informative and really well done. most enjoyable!
Great job investigating the physics of the water deluge system.
Outstanding channel. Thank you so much for all the work.
Great content and amazing production values.
Great episode Zack! Super instructive as always...You're the best at stage 0.
This analysis is absolutely incredible! Greatly appreciated the extensive research and explanations of very complex subjects. Awesome Job!!!
Im in awe. No one else is providing coverage to this degree. Im beyond impressed. Thank you.
Thank you! Past episodes are more exciting than this one was in my opinion
This was an excellent report! Fantastic job!
Dude, your intro gave me goose bumps! I love these deep dives!
That music was pretty epic
I really love your videos. So in-depth and through .
Zac Golden, I just subbed.
Quite deep research and presented in a very consumable format ..!
Seriously the best in depth coverage and I watch the other guys too but dang you really put the time in to really know you’re stuff!
We will finally get to see huge plumb of cloud due to deluge.
WOW! you certainly know your stuff, CSi. I watched this edition from start to finish. Great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great content. Much better detail than many of the other channels. Keep it up.
Thank you!
Excellent analysis. Thank you for your hard work!
This is the first one of your videos I've watched - just subscribed! Excellent work with real data. Love it!
You're going to gain a lot of new subscribers soon, me thinks 😎❤️
Thank you!
Very comprehensive assessment. Great job.
Great deep, deep dive
into a subject i've been wondering about. Bravo!
Well, the latest test was a blast to watch. 15:36 "The full process (of pouring the new pad) took two weeks from start to finish" and about four seconds to blast away.
Yes!!! Finally. Been waiting for this one! TY Zack!!
I love your approach to your work here. You have your very own style and it just works. I’m really excited to watch your channel grow.
Thank you!
I love you detailed deep dives into these engineering challenges.
This is Brilliant! A very well-produced, clear overview of these incredibly complex topics. Well done guys!
