Hey John, thanks for the video. When I connect one of my analog servos (Corona CS238MG) to the fs-ia6 receiver it didn't work well and it affects all other servos. Then all servos stop working after a few seconds. Is it possible to connect these analog servos with another protocol other than SBUS to work properly? Or would you recommend a solid receiver for the tx16s to run these servos properly? Cheers.
That sounds more like a servo problem or power problem than an RX problem. The RX only passes BEC power through to servos, it doesn't generate power. The only thing coming from the RX is signal. I would do two things: 1) Make sure you have sufficient power and amperage connected to the Rx. 2) Test each servo individually. Based on what you described, I doubt it's an Rx problem.
thanks for the video- really helpful ....errmm silly question, but when you mentioned "pick a reciever no in your case 51"- can this be any generic number or is it specific to each reciever - ? if so how do i find this info.. also any heads up on how i shoud correctly plug KOPILOT into this reciever .. for a standard T trainer .. really struggling with setting it up with this reciever .. getting into a pickle as to which KOPILOT cables should go into it what set of receiver pins and which port- thanks and apologies for the many questions !!
If you use a number other than 00 when you bind, the radio will have to have that model loaded to command the receiver. If you use 00 as the Rx number, then any model that was bound with 00 as the Rx number will be able to send commands to the Rx. You use any Rx number you want. Rx numbers are shown in Companion so you can use that to keep them straight.

Hi 😊👋 Thanks for this video! I have RadioMaster TX16S with hall sensor gimbals, multiprotocol. Can tx16s bind with Flysky x6b receiver? I tried to bind but unsuccessfully.. Thanks again

Hello, I have the Radiomaster tx16s max pro version 2.7...I'm doing exactly what you are doing with the same receiver. My issue is that while the bind is successful, once the TX is shut off and I go to power up my plane to fly, the bind is lost. Powering off the Rx and powering the Rx back on, the bind remains. The bind is always lost after powering off the TX and then powering the TX back on. I've used the 0 and different receiver numbers (even used 51 as you did) and still the bind disappears when TX is shut down. I only have 1 model entered into the radio so what's happening? Can you help? Thank you
Is it possible to get the telemetry data from the voltage meter module for this rx? Btw these receivers have MASSIVE range with the kind of antennas they use
Nice video! 2hat about the flysky module? How radiomaster show the information? Flysky has the voltage module, altitude module, rpm, etc .. can you show and example?
If the modules report telemetry through the Rx, it's very simple to just "discover new sensors" on the TX16s telemetry screen and the data will autopopulate.
Will this bind directly to the flysky rx or do I have to upgrade or do something to the tx ,I'm kinda new to radiomaster and I want to buy this one next month

I would suggest buying one and range testing it. I've flown mine around the park and it does fine. I haven't measured range so I can't give you an honest answer.
For a practical demonstration of what this receiver is capable of (in low interference conditions - no 2.4ghz receiver does very well in an area overloaded with wifi hash no matter how much it costs!) look up the test video done on the West Coast of New Zealand by iforce2d. Pushed it out to about 11km off the coast!!! Don't let the Spektrum/Futaba snobs tell you that they are no good! 🙄
I successfully bound that rx to my tx, but after I power down then power up my tx I get a warning that says no fail safe set. Has this happened to you at all?
Great video. Received my Radiomaster today but cannot seem to access the FlySky 2A protocol. I just get FlySky only. How do I change to the 2A protocol? Your video shows your t/x already on FlySky 2A.
I just looked on my radio and confirmed FlySky2A shows up immediately after FlySky. I did nothing special to gain access to that protocol. Just enabled internal RF module and scrolled right to it. You may need to check your MPM firmware version and maybe even flash a new one. It should be there out of the box though.

hi, first time i made fpv drone (radiomaster tx16s) i paired it with fs-ia6b but the motors are not moving, why do you think? everything looks normal in betaflight.
If you're getting Rx movement in Betaflight and your motors aren't turning you have something wrong in Betaflight or the motor wiring. If BF sees Rx movement the problem isn't with the Rx. If BF does not see Rx movement you have to get that working.
@@RCVideoReviews thank you friend, i found the problem. I did not activate the key required for the motors to start and therefore the motors did not start
have you tried to turn off the TX with the RX still on? In my case it just loses the bind. If i turn on the RX before the TXm also the bind is gone. do you have it too?
I haven't specifically tried any of those combos, but I normally power of the rx before tx, and the last time I checked, I still had a bind. You really shouldn't lose bind no matter which one gets turned off first.

@RCVideoReviews nice video my friend. I hot a happymodelX v.2.2 FC, AIO Flysky SPI. Everything was fine until one day i started to get those annoying telemetry lost/ recovered. I thought well maybe i crash and i damaged something but I don't understand why it does it on the simulator. (When i have multiprotocol off on the tx16s i think is fine) i know it could be anything but i would appreciate an opinion. Thank you in advance 😊
Technically yes, but it's not the "bind with anything" module. That is a 4in1. The cc2500 can bind with a small handful of protocols, so technically is it ""Multi"" protocol, but go for the 4in1.

Because for me, everytime i change planes (all planes use FS-iA6B receivers) i must re binding.. if not it wont work.. is there anything wrong with my binding process..? please advice me.. Thanks
You shouldn't have to re-bind receivers. I never do. I have 40+ craft with all kinds of different RX's from different makers using different protocols and I never have to rebind any of them.
@@zayyandzikraka3833 Need help. I manage to bind the flysky i6 on the radiomaster, but when I select another model aircraft, when I return, the bind is lost. I need to rebind every time I fly. Any solution for the problem? thanks!
I think I found the answer to your problem. It also explains why I never saw an issue. I only ever had one AFHDS2A RX bound to my radio at a time: You must use a different Receiver Number for each different AFHDS 2A receiver you bind. Re-using numbers will remove the binding for the previous receiver.
Binding is specific to RF comms with the RX. There is no option to specify s.bus vs pwm for output in the bind process. So yes, s.bus should work just fine.
@@RCVideoReviews Yep. You should select PWM/S-Bus when binding to the iA6B receiver. Otherwise the receiver will put out i-Bus on the Serial Pins NOT S-bus. Thus you cannot use the Flysky FS-i6 transmitter with the iA6B receiver if you need it to output S-bus because the FS-i6 CANNOT be set transmit S-bus. But the i6X can.
The MPM didn't change in the MK2--same device. So yes, the *supported* FlySky protocols on the existing MPM will work in a Mk2 TX16s. Be aware, not all FlySky is supported by the MPM.

Hello everyone. I am trying to control some led lights that turn on with one of the switches of the Tx16s but I can't get them to turn on with all their intensity. I am using the same receiver as the one in the video the FS IA6b, Thanks
The 5v rail should supply 5v regardless of the switch position, so I don't think you have a power problem. The switch changes pulsewidth on the signal line, not voltage on the voltage rail. You may need to find out if the led controller has a specific pulsewidth it needs to see and set that up in the radio.
Hi, Guys, I have a problem with this receivers: I can bind, but some days later the bind is lost and I need repeat the process. Someone have that same problem and know how fix it?
Give each receiver a different number (in the set-up) before you bind it. If you don't the transmitter will only remember the last Flysky receiver it was bound to and drop the bind to all previous ones. Same thing for any other protocols where the option is available in the Model Set-up.
Nice one - yep FlySky Receivers are really great value and work great with the TX16S, including failsafe settings and access to telemetry. I find the RadioMaster TX16S and FlySky IA6B Rx gets better range compared to using the standard FlySky i6 Tx (my i6 is modded to 10Ch via bojangles software hack) and the servo actions are smooth over the full range (using std analogues). Currently I'm waiting on a FlySky FS-CVT01 Voltage Sensor to arrive to add to the telemetry so i can monitor the flight pack voltage separately from the ESC derived 5 volts that you see as the A1 value in telemetry by default. For those who want to hack the IA6B to give a flight battery voltage directly there are hack videos and forums that demonstrate how to mod the IA6B receiver (ua-cam.com/video/vUC08Ky5qr0/v-deo.html is one example).
I looked at that voltage sensor. It looked kind of beefy compared to what I'm used to from FrSky. I was surprised. I thought the telemetry would require jumping through hoops--nope. Hard to beat $11 for a 6ch sbus Rx with telemetry. I hope FrSky is paying attention--they've gone the wrong direction.
@@RCVideoReviews Agreed, and the FlySky IA10B 10 channel receiver is just the same as the IA6B but with more channels....and still cheap for a 10ch Rx. I was gearing up to buy a new FrSky radio just as the TX16S came on the market; after a few reviews of the TX16S it was like shut up and take my money.
Yup. Me too. I had a few issues and looked at just buying another Taranis until I did the reading--same exact response. I thought I read there is an external MPM out there...?
@@Toth_Marton If you have the TX16S radio paired with a FlySky Rx then plug in the voltage sensor into the Rx and then scan for the voltage sensor in the telemetry settings in the Tx and it will appear as an available value. You can then use that value as you want, either to trigger automated responses at nominated voltage levels or direct off a switch.
You can always set failsafe options in the radio under model setup. Below the Rx bind options you should see a line called "Failsafe mode" On that line you can specify hold, custom (which lets you program per channel values), no pulses, or receiver. I haven't verified operation on the ia-6b, but if you set failsafe on the Tx to receiver, then you have to hold your sticks where you want them by pressing the FS/Bind button on the Rx. Personally, I would just use custom instead. Much easier to manipulate and change after the fact.

Thank you for posting this video. Can the Radiomaster tx16s bind to the FkySky FS-A8S? i tried and having issues. Can you help? Thank you in advance.
I don't know if it can bind to that one. Here is the supported protocol list for the MPM: github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/blob/master/Protocols_Details.md
If your Rx uses a protocol on that list, the TX16s will bind with it.
Thanks for this information i kept trying to bind to my FS-A8S and it would not work. But i have a few x6bs laying around so I will use that one instead!
Howdy great video i followed your step by step instructions binds right up problem i am having is when i unplug flight controller battery i get audio alert saying lost telemetry and when i plug battery back in it says recovered telemetry but stays bound. then when i unplug helicopter battery and turn transmitter off and restart transmitter and plug heli battery in its not bound anymore so i have to rebind. now this receiver was bound to a flysky transmitter before you got any ideas what could be wrong Thanks Don Johnson

Good video! Got a few of these recivers, can you suggest a sensor for vario that i can plug into this rx that will work with this radio. Thanks

Many thanks for the quick reply. Thats what i was going to buy but i was told this will only give me on screen height and not give me an audible rising and decending tone! Can you verify this for me please. Cheers
I can't verify it. That's the only altimeter sensor I know of for that rx.
Yes thats correct. I'll check it out. Thanks.
Obrigado pelo vídeo, ajudou muito 🪽👍
I have a Kopilot setup video here: ua-cam.com/video/NqKFKvMlaV4/v-deo.html

You need an FRM303 module. IA10 is AFHDS3.
@@RCVideoReviews You sure about that, John? I've got an FS-iA10B here and that's just the 10ch version of the old FS-iA6B that you've got there. The iA10 was just the straight PWM version of the iA10B with no serial outputs.
Hi 😊👋
Thanks for this video!
I have RadioMaster TX16S with hall sensor gimbals, multiprotocol. Can tx16s bind with Flysky x6b receiver? I tried to bind but unsuccessfully..
Thanks again
Here is the protocol list: github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/blob/master/Protocols_Details.md If the Rx is on that list, it should bind.
Thank you
@@richarddorsch7275 same issue … have you found out the issue ?
Thank you so much for this! extremely helpful! but i was wondering, how does one setup the failsafe mode with this combo?
If failsafe is presented by the radio for a given protocol, then use the software option. If not, set failsafe per the Rx instructions.
Is it possible to get the telemetry data from the voltage meter module for this rx?
Btw these receivers have MASSIVE range with the kind of antennas they use
A1 comes in with Rx voltage. Based on what I saw via discover sensors @ ua-cam.com/video/zKN2w-_zkH8/v-deo.html I'm going to say I don't think so.
Thank you very mutch its very useful for me ❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Will this bind directly to the flysky rx or do I have to upgrade or do something to the tx ,I'm kinda new to radiomaster and I want to buy this one next month
As long as you get the 4-in-1 TX16s it will bind to the Flysky RX just as you see it in this video.

The AFHDS is listed under Flysky Std. A different protocol selection. Roll through the list until it pops up.

I first would like to thank you for all the great video!!!! I have just purchase a TX16 the your video have been very helpful. Would you know if the TX16 will bind to a Tactic receiver, Modulation:SLT 2.4GHz FHSS

Hello sir..im using tx16s and usually my rx is radiomaster r168...but currently really hard to get r168 even directly from china
My question is, is this particullar flysky rx works well with tx16s in term of connection?i fly edf jet 80mm fly usually around 200m. A bit worry about lossing the connection. Please advise
Only if failsafe isn't set on an RX that supports setting failsafe.
@@RCVideoReviews Multi is on and FlySky shows up to the right. Click on FlySky which now blinks, rotate scroller and then Corona shows up, keep scrolling and get various other radios but no FlySky2A. hi, first time i made fpv drone (radiomaster tx16s) i paired it with fs-ia6b but the motors are not moving, why do you think?
everything looks normal in betaflight.
I friend, i use this ricever with tx16s and the flysky cat01 altitude sensor. I cannot setup the calibration of the sensor😔... Can you help me? Thanks
Telemetry data sensor calibration normally happens on the telemetry sensor page, but I have no experience calibrating for altitude...sorry.
Hi. Could you see telemetry battery voltage form flysky receiver?
With a Flysky voltage telemetry sensor you can.
have you tried to turn off the TX with the RX still on? In my case it just loses the bind. If i turn on the RX before the TXm also the bind is gone. do you have it too?
I haven't specifically tried any of those combos, but I normally power of the rx before tx, and the last time I checked, I still had a bind. You really shouldn't lose bind no matter which one gets turned off first.

Ola, estou com problemas com o bind. O bind nao sustenta no i6b flysky quando desligo o rádio eu perco o bind. Como resolver???
Não sei. Não perco meu vínculo quando desligo o rádio. Eu não posso replicar.
I think I found the answer to your problem. It also explains why I never saw an issue. I only ever had one AFHDS2A RX bound to my radio at a time:
You must use a different Receiver Number for each different AFHDS 2A receiver you bind. Re-using numbers will remove the binding for the previous receiver.
Does the Sbus works when u bind that way?
Binding is specific to RF comms with the RX. There is no option to specify s.bus vs pwm for output in the bind process. So yes, s.bus should work just fine.
@@RCVideoReviews Yep. You should select PWM/S-Bus when binding to the iA6B receiver. Otherwise the receiver will put out i-Bus on the Serial Pins NOT S-bus. Thus you cannot use the Flysky FS-i6 transmitter with the iA6B receiver if you need it to output S-bus because the FS-i6 CANNOT be set transmit S-bus. But the i6X can.
thanks very much. felicitations

Great 👍 thanks 👍
No problem 👍 You're welcome.
What to do if the mentioned protocol is not in the list
Are you sure you have a 4-in-1 MPM?
Do you plug in the voltage sensor, and it just works as with an Flysky tx?
@@Toth_Marton If you have the TX16S radio paired with a FlySky Rx then plug in the voltage sensor into the Rx and then scan for the voltage sensor in the telemetry settings in the Tx and it will appear as an available value. You can then use that value as you want, either to trigger automated responses at nominated voltage levels or direct off a switch.
How to set failsafe for FS-iA6B on radiomaster tx?
You can always set failsafe options in the radio under model setup. Below the Rx bind options you should see a line called "Failsafe mode" On that line you can specify hold, custom (which lets you program per channel values), no pulses, or receiver. I haven't verified operation on the ia-6b, but if you set failsafe on the Tx to receiver, then you have to hold your sticks where you want them by pressing the FS/Bind button on the Rx. Personally, I would just use custom instead. Much easier to manipulate and change after the fact.
@@RCVideoReviews I just set no pulses. I'm not expecting you reply such long. hahaha. Thank you very much! Your videos help me a lot in this hobby.
