I own a cleaning company and I am only insured in that fashion, not for driver work. Do I need to obtain a MC# and DOT# to begin? I only plan on traveling within the state of Missouri. Most companies will require you to have a cover over you truck bed to protect cargo. But most pick up trucks are for hot shot hauling with trailer. Little s10 style pick up trucks to make money

If you want to stay intrastate, you need to get insurance (general and cargo) and DOT#.

Yes you do need your Mc and DOT number if you run out of state. But you can run under a company authority until you get your own.
