I doubt this is actually a Lishi product. Most sites that offer this tool refer to it as a lishi style tool.
The fact that Mr Li's face or name isn't stamped on the tool is very suspicious.
Most are copy product,but cheaper, the original ones cost $70usd

Nice video. Yup, we have these for TesaT60, Ultion WXM, Ultion 3 Star, ISEO R6, Mul-t-Lock 3DS, L4V, and Abus/CISA. They're very cool picks.
I use a Lishi (SC1) to demonstrate picking technique to new pickers. You can show easier how to find the binding order, try different tension forces, and do the jiggle test without using the plastic locks, and it's much more like the real feel. Then give them a three pin lock with a short hook to feel that out.
I'm with you on that - The thing I like about Lishi-style picks is the 'set bounce', and it's easy to find with these picks, and once you have the hang of it you can - as you say - move onto a hook and feel for it.

These aren't made by Mr Li the inventor of the Lishi. A number of UK based vendors are selling rebadged versions of this style of 2 in 1 tool (ie. UKBumpkeys, ALS). The ALS version has "Lishi style" printed beside the SS number. I "suspect" these have been manufactured in a factory in China and are simply rebadged according to the resellers requirements.
Exactlty that, they're OEM.
I've ordered the L4V one from ukbumpkeys and currently use the GJ locks L4V pick for work, but I find it troublesome to use, so im looking forward to getting my new one and it looks way better to use. And they aren't genuine lishi as they don't make dimple picks, I think GxAxV started this lishi dimple pick idea last year when he made his own from another lishi style pick
I had a play with the GJ one. I've got a video coming out about it soon. But I couldn't work out how to decode with it. Did you have any joy?

@ukbumpkeys the lishi L4V is awesome haven't had a failed open yet 100% success rate for me aslong as you understand set bounce and tension control you can't fail lol

Question: Any of those pins zero lift? That seems to be the number one problem with picking dimples.
They don't seem to be used too much, because it is rough to insert and pull out the keys, and I would bet longevity is an issue with lock cores themselves for locks in frequent use.
Doesn't really answer your question, but I picked a lock on my channel and the last pin was the zero lift, which kind of make it obsolete. It's a bump protection though I guess, but even so, just don't put the key that far in.

Curious if it can handle zero lift pins. I have some dimple locks where the zero cut on the key is not a dimple, but a hole. Seems like the flag cannot get over those pins since you can't maneuver it around?
It may be a Lishi style pick, but it’s not a Lishi per se, and more importantly it’s not a “2 in 1”-it just helps you pick, but I didn’t see anything about decoding (which is why regular Lishis are called 2 in 1, for picking /and/ decoding). Still useful and either way thank you for taking the time to demonstrate and discuss this
Hello Chirael, good to see you in these parts! You can decode with these. On that little half-moon part that you use as the picking guide there's a load of evenly spaced lines. So once the lock is picked, you go through all the pins, and turn the half moon, find what line it matches with and then you have you cut number. They're not numbered though as it's so small, but it's not hard to count 1,2,3,4,5 etc...

I thought 2-in-1 tools referred to "pick and tensioner" as opposed to "pick and decoder"
@@TequilaDave I’ve always heard it that the second part is the decoding, because the original Lishis were just picking (which included by its very nature a method of applying tension - no tension, no picking); then they were improved about 5-10 yrs ago to integrate decoding after picking, and they really took off. Remember that Lishis started with automotive and only recently branched out to other non-automotive locks
Lishi should make a tool to pick Medeco locks. I still have not been able to pick the Medeco 72s 4-pin camlock😢😢 I have tried every technique and have the most capable picks and have gotten nothing.😢

These are great for locksmiths, but not for locksporters. Too expensive and not enough skill building for us, at least, that's just my opinion. I'm not trying to gatekeep, because an open is an open and the satisfaction is all that matters, but for me at least, I want to build the skill.
Building such a tool for a specific dimple lock would also require skill, wouldn't it?

You failed to show the most important feature which is to decode the lock so a key can be made. This is what a professional locksmith would use this tool for. Secondly it didn't appear to me to be a genuine LISHI as it did not have a laser engraved picture of Mr. Lishi with a laser authentication label on it.
Yup. Lishi don't make these tools. These are not copies, they're just not Lishi. 'Lishi-style' seems to be the way to go.

@@Supremepikachu Oh, I'm sure they do. If you've got the right keyway profile, they're like magic wands. Trouble is, I can't find a good guide for keyways, and most of my locks don't match with the 4 Lishis I have (M1, AM, SC, KW). I suspect they may be some form of LW.
