Makes so much more sense to see the water geyser up, while it’s also coming down. I always thought 40 days of rain would be more soggy than deadly.
I remember seeing this film in theaters and I had no idea what to expect. I thought it was going to be stupid and borderline fanatical in its storytelling. But damn! It actually showed a genuinely good story of humanity, both the good and the bad. And it showed that good and evil are not mutually exclusive concepts. Noah somehow believed God wanted all humans to die as a result of the flood, and then have him and his family die out as a result of old age. He believed humans were inherently evil, because they kill, and somehow animals were innocent because they killed to survive. But we humans do the same as animals. We kill to survive, but the purpose of nature is to keep things in balance. Humans are part of that natural balance.
Very deep but Humans are different than Animals, animals only take what they need, don't kill without any important reason, respect each other like brothers, are always grateful and always share with their pack food or recources, aren't egoistically selfish, will always fight to the death accepting their fate, are truly loving only when it's appropriate, don't consciously do stupid things, they continue learning from experience like a human baby throughout their adult lives etc.
Humans on the other hand have something called choice, responsability, conscious sacrifice, renounce of pleasure, more complex often unpredictable love mechanics, very confusing and complicated phsicology, relationships' unexpected concequences that last years, mental trouble because of wrong interests or studying too deeply a right one...
Humans have an animal side fused with a spiritual one, that's why we work differently than them despite having an animal body and instincts, we are animals that have something from another world inside of us, that's why we're like aliens for this planet
God does not call on us to be natural, but to be supernatural. Be not of this world. It is a very difficult task.

@@jaredcollins5628 Actually, we are a natural part of the evolutionary chain on Earth. Just as life was able to form with animals, so too was life able to come about with us humans. We are not greater or smaller than the natural cycle, we are a part of it. We must learn to move with it, join it.

I believe because it's written in Aramaic then translated to Greek in Alexandria, Egypt but both the aramaic version and the greek version has been lost over the centuries. and the only version that they discovered during the 18 century in Ethiopia and it was written in ethiopian language derived from the greek version of alexanderia.

My favorite part of the Bible was when Noah defended the ark with angels and giant beasts while pulling off gladiator stunts as a 100+ year old man.

In the movie setting, everyone trying to get onto the arc are starved killers trying to survive. Noah, on the other hand, is a well-fed, strong man that's been working out for decades on a literal holy diet.
Based on one of the greatest fantasy novels ever written. Well done!

As a work of fiction its actually a great film. It's just mind-boggling that Aranofksy didn't choose to portray the fallen angels accurately. It wouldve made a much better story/film.

If he was real, Noah would've likely be brown since the bible was originally written in the middle east. The bible is also inspired by older Mesopotamian mythologies like the Sumerian religion so it's deeply rooted in the region. But the bible has been present in Africa for around 3000 years in Ethiopia, some Hebrews traveled there during the iron age and integrated with local Ethiopians and have held a church ever since, its called Ethiopian Orthodoxy in the west and its quite authentic. The Queen of Shiba was supposedly Ethiopian after all.
