@@barbonson_richards You think the F1 cars in this clip have carburettors? I'm sorry to tell you they don't. What they do have, however, is fuel pickups in the bottom of the fuel tank which supply a high pressure fuel pump (which goes on to supply the fuel injection system, not a carburettor). When you're running out of fuel (and, consequently, the fuel pump cannot get any fuel from the pickups) the driver could weave the car side-to-side violently to try and "slosh" whatever fuel was left towards the fuel pickup. Incidentally, this was quite a common sight in '80s F1, when running out of fuel in the era of tight fuel budgets happened more frequently.
As far as I'm aware, he was actually really good in GT cars. But the F1 cars, just really did not suit him. But his son however, he is incredibly consistent. Its actually insane, he sadly is still winless in F2, but as of post Russia 2020, he is in P7 with the next winless driver in P12 some 75 points behind. That is huge considering no wins to give him the big points. And Mick Schumacher is leading. Giuliano Alesi however had good and impressive but unlucky races in Austria.
