my thoughts after owning the black automatic model and wearing it for a month: -I guess I just don't have super long arm hair, because my band didn't grab my hair too often. -the clasp gets significantly easier to take off after a week or so of on/of wear. I can take mine off no problem, however I did have the same problem you did at the beginning. -mine has the Seiko nh95a movement, super accurate, hand winding. -I paid 80 bucks for my model off of amazon, I have 0 regrets in buying it.
For a starter watch this is the only Invicta I suggest to my friends (and Casio Marlin) because like you said, they are quartz - nice and reliable. Still much better, in my view, than an MVT, Michael Kors and the other over priced junk. Thx Nick!!!
The Invicta is actually vastly better made than early Rolex Submariners. The early Subs were incredibly crude tool watches. They literally had a worse fit and finish than a Vostok Amphibian. The Sub bracelet was crudely folded sheet metal. The case wasn't polished and the crystal was perspex.
I am a guy who loves watches and fountain pens. But alas, being a father of a relatively large family, I cannot afford even most "entry level" pieces. So I rock my invicta and Pilot Metro without the slightest reservation as impressing others have never been my intent. Moreover, should the day arrive that blesses me with a Rolex Submariner and/or Mont Blanc 1000, I'll be all the more appreciative. Still another great review as usual.

What is it with invicta and some other manufacturers being unable to make a blue sunburst dial but rather a purple one? I wanted to get their two tone auto sub but the dial color looks so off.
The invicta 38mm quarts diver does a lot that many other watches do not do. Especially if you want a small, light low profile diver on your wrist. I happen to think that the person defines the watch the watch does not define the person. It's an incredibly enjoyable watch. The stainless blue is amazingly attractive. I have a 7.5 wrist and I'll wear 36mm to 42mm. Seiko, Vostok, Casio, GWS, Invicta, Timex. They are all solid watches. Just remember Bill Gates wears a $50 Duro. Don't be fooled by luxury.
Quantity has a quality all its own? I've owned three Invicta homages. An analog and two quartz. I don't have any complaints and will own another gladly. Love your honesty and integrity Nick - informative and entertaining!
Hey Nick, I would love it if you could review the automatic version of this watch instead. I bought the 8926ob and from everything I've read it's the outlier among the Invicta watches. Classic design, Seiko NH35A movement (found in many higher end automatics) and a great value for the money. Display back is also entrancing too and I think the automatic is insanely more value than the quartz - heck the movement is worth the asking price and it's a great beater/introduction to the automatic world. For the price, I can look past the brand reputation and it's not so dear that I'd be commiting a horological sin by putting it on a NATO strap or trying even more ambitious mods.
A lot of countries in Europe are very harsh on fake watches going through customs. Invicta uses a yellow box and specifically writes Invicta all over the place to ensure shipping fulfillment. Most customs offices have tiny cameras that are injected into packages. If I was smart and selling fake watches, I would package them all in Invicta packaging. Also I need to comment and defend Invicta for their design choices. I get that it's a submariner homage, but what dive watch isn't. I own 10 watches and four of them are dive watches that look identical to a Rolex submariner. I have a Mido, a Tissot, a Hamilton, and a Oris. All of which take design elements from the submariner.
Today, you wouldn't use this for serious diving, better off buying a dive computer. Which gives you all the information you need for safe diving. I dive with my Invicta watch on as a back up or sometimes I just forget to take it off and it works well after years of use and for fifty bucks it ain't bad. ⌚
I consider this to be the analog version of Casio F-91W. I have the same but with a different bezel (9204 without the OB suffix) specifically when I need to work on MacBooks. It's great because it's small and legible, doesn't magnetise (as MacBooks do to automatics), has a great lume and the steel bracelet is solid enough to protect my wrist from the laptop's sharp edges. And the ticking is quiet. And the best thing? It cost me €40. I wouldn't be so harsh on Invicta for creating the ProDiver range watches, they have their place, customer base and use case, just like Swatch. These watches saved Glycine as a brand. I have a few of them in my >100 watch collection (all ProDiver) and I do like wearing them from time to time. Also, I like the engraved logo on the side as well, it clearly says that I'm NOT wearing Rolex (some of the specialty watches don't have the logo).

Personally homages don't bother me. I would rather own a watch with a design that I connect with and find aesthetically pleasing that isn't very original, than an original design that I don't connect with.
I am new to watches. I'm a US Marine and i've broken 2 g-shock 5600's so far. i'll admit i sometimes do things with my watch on that i probably shouldn't. I'm quite happy with the g-shocks and i wear a 3rd one now. However, as i'm starting to become more fascinated with watches, i find myself more drawn to these homages. I'm looking to get into analog or automatic. watches. I recently ordered a casio duro. Is there anything less than about $120 that has superb durability? I would like to wear one in uniform from time to time but will also wear one as a cop. I do a very high volume of shooting. I'm not certain, but i would assume that the sharp shock of shooting would cause issues with automatic watches. However, I know some special ops guys who use marathon, rolex, sinn, and others. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bought the 30022 for $55.00 on Amazon. Clasp goes on and comes off easily ,links never pull my hairs, the second hand hits each mark (usually), and everyday the watch is almost dead nuts to my phone. Has a screw down crown and back plate. The bezel I found had a satisfying click and no back play ? Can't seem to find anything to complain about, I'm getting another.😎
One day an omega will be in my reach! Till then in sporting the big daddy of this version! Nick, can you review the Grand diver next? It's much better in quality and function! Solid links, screw down crown and the second hand flows very nicely!
Regrettably Nick did NOT show us one of the most important aspects of these watches, cause with quite some of their (quartz) divers that is where a significant flaw shows up, and that is SETTING THE TIME. With many of their quartz 'pro divers' the minute have irratically and uncontrollably jumps forward or backwards when after setting the time the crown wheel is pushed back shut. He should strive to be somewhat complete when covering a subject (and responding to reactions here would not hurt either).

I accidentally damaged the Automatic movement in my first Invicta while working In construction, and I bought a quartz instead which has lasted about 3 years under the same conditions. Meaning I recomend the automatic if you have pretty hands. And a G shock if you put this much pressure on a watch, like I do.
i mostly like the size of it. i have never been a fan of large scaled watches that look like clocks on your wrist ,and i think for the price this is not a bad basic every day watch.
This is a "cheap" Invicta, forgiving any contradictions. I have seen some Invicta divers that have solid builds. You have to shop around with them to find something worth keeping.
Hmmmm. No offence but the review felt like nothing more than a reason to bash Invicta. This watch is supposed to be a rolex clone. Why would they change anything or add some originality? Invicta makes hundreds of unique watches that are not sold as clones. While I find many of them to be ugly, they really do not lack originality. I think snobby high end watch collectors just look down on invicta watches because the watches lack sophistication and snobbery, Sort of like the person that shops in high end boutiques is not shopping in walmart. I don't disagree with that but if you look around you will find a LOT of watch makers that make Rolex clones. It's a THING. Just google "Submariner Homage Diver" For some reason the watch community is ok with this. Ever see a positive review of an American knife that was cloned by a Chinese company? I think not. I find it strange that cloning a rolex is acceptable.

I was never really into this watch, but when manipulating the bezel makes you sound like you are trying to carry a conversation during a set of pull ups that's a hard pass.

Comparing this watch to a honda civic with a 20 thousand dollar body kit just doesn't make any sense. Nobody is sinking more money into this watch to try and make it anything more than it is. I just bought this watch for $34.95. Amazon black Friday sale. I don't feel bad for purchasing a high value watch. Money saved that will be invested in my 401k.

and the really sad thing is that this is probably the best watch they have available....everything else practically they have for men is a manhole cover with really floppy second hands on the quartz models and rubber straps that disentegrate. when perusing watch websites i wish i could select "NO INVICTAS PULEASE!"
Well, I own several Invicta's and have quit buying watches (like I did). This one is not representative, e.g., clasp difficulty made more difficult with your short nails; bezel hard to use--I have several and no problem with them. You were somewhat picky for a 60 tortilla watch, e.g., bracelet polish, second hand not spot on. This is a daily beater and it holds up. And you want variety from their designers? Invicta has maybe 10 gazillion different ones and I probably dislike 99% of them... or more, but there are worse on the market.
Nick, always enjoy your reviews but come on. You pick one of the cheapest invicta divers to compare to a Rolex or omega. Every watch company has a sub. image. They have swiss versions of these divers for around 200 that will compete with anyone feature and component wise. No most of us can afford a Rolex or even an omega. My two cents worth . Harry

I'm about to buy this even though I'm a mechanical snob because I want a small quartz that looks good that I can beat the shit out of. I have the 40mm NH35 one and it's good but I will really best a cheaper quartz to death. With the stock bracelet I usually fold the lock out ever so slightly because they are extremely tight.
Do you know that invicta made this design, without cyclops in 1950, much time before the american company buy it and remake the factory. And tudor use this design and after rolex use the design in the james bond movie? with litle diferences. but now for U$ 40,00 dolar, it's a very good option, it use seko engine and good quality build. And it is good to have all this invicta logos, it show that the watch not want be more than it is. This is a generic yatching design, many other companies use similar design, buit with muth more price.
You seem to have forgotten why most people buy homage watches. It's usually because they are unable to afford the huge price tag of an authentic Rolex for instance (or unwilling to pay the huge price tag even if they can afford it), but they like the design. So, the question should be, is it a good quality homage, not "oh my god, they've copied the design of a Rolex Submariner!". If you don't realize that or snobishly look down on someone who would actually buy a homage watch, then just review Rolexes. I'm just sayin'.

Interesting thing about Rolex homages: lots of people get bent out of shape about them, but that doesn't seem to include Rolex themselves, or at least not that I'm aware. They want to be aspirational to the masses, but owned only by a few (and they use price as a barrier to ensure that this remains the case). I'd suspect that Rolex don't get upset by homages because they contribute to this aspiration and they don't actually reduce sales amongst people who would buy a real Rolex - quite the opposite, I suspect, on the latter point.

It's pretty cheap though. I am a high school kid and I am planning on buying either a Seiko for up to 200 euros or the Invicta 9094ob which has an automatic movement and it's a bit more expensive that this watch shown.

The clasp gets easier to take off over time this shows it is made sturdy . You can't see the Invicta logo other than in the case the others are all hidden unless you give your watch to someone to have a look. Being a minimalist the Invicta writing on the side was a concern for me as well but after buying a 38mm watch ı have to say it doesn't distrub me at all. Besides if you check for the meaning of ''Invicta'' ı found it pretty cool and it could be a good conversation starter. Who cares if they got inspired by rolex do you think rolex wasn't inspired by others in the first place? They are not the first watch makers. I like that the size is smaller than the Rolex and Omega .What is actually nice of Invicta is that they are selling it for a reasonable price nobody can convince me the Rolex is that much worth. It's just marketing . No offense you sound like a disney mafia boss.
i have the mechanical version of this watch, it came with a msrp of $599. some of the problems you had with this watch also apply but some of them don't. i think there's a lot of quality control problems. but it's a good watch for someone that is not getting into watches.
I unfortunately bought this watch because I liked the look. As you said, Invictus was copying the Rolex look. I could not and cannot afford a Rolex so I thought this would be cool to wear. It literally came apart after about six months. The diver’s bezel came off and the rest of the watch came apart. I was constantly having issues with the band.
They have thousands of original designs, if you knew going in that you'd knock is mainly for being a Rolex homage why not just try one of the others? I'm guessing this was a pre-gem hunter video haha.
There are conflicting reviews of the lume on this watch. Some other reviewers report poor lume e.g. 6:09 in TimedSquare: ua-cam.com/video/Yu5TlNJkqO0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TimedSquare although that review was on the automatic version but I'd expect lume to be a feature that's independent of the movement
I found a Green and Black "Hulk" colored one at my local Walmart. I was going to get it, but the misaligned second hand looked awful. You are right. I don't understand why Invicta is okay with that. I saw a $20 Casio with perfect alignment. If a cheap, Analog Casio watch can have an aligned second hand, why can the Invicta not have that.

i mostly like the size of it. i have never been a fan of large scaled watches that look like clocks on your wrist ,and i think for the price this is not a bad basic every day watch.

This is a "cheap" Invicta, forgiving any contradictions. I have seen some Invicta divers that have solid builds. You have to shop around with them to find something worth keeping.
Hmmmm. No offence but the review felt like nothing more than a reason to bash Invicta. This watch is supposed to be a rolex clone. Why would they change anything or add some originality? Invicta makes hundreds of unique watches that are not sold as clones. While I find many of them to be ugly, they really do not lack originality. I think snobby high end watch collectors just look down on invicta watches because the watches lack sophistication and snobbery, Sort of like the person that shops in high end boutiques is not shopping in walmart. I don't disagree with that but if you look around you will find a LOT of watch makers that make Rolex clones. It's a THING. Just google "Submariner Homage Diver" For some reason the watch community is ok with this. Ever see a positive review of an American knife that was cloned by a Chinese company? I think not. I find it strange that cloning a rolex is acceptable.

I don’t have money to burn so I do my homework and sometimes even go to a dealer and hold the watch to see if it’s something I’d buy , I don’t however see one online and buy it with the notion of hey I’ll buy it and if I do t like it I’ll just pass it on ! I was never really into this watch, but when manipulating the bezel makes you sound like you are trying to carry a conversation during a set of pull ups that's a hard pass.

I have an Invicta Pro Diver 8926 and one big problem I have with this model is it's bezel is very stiff.

So, this a watch that's more accurate than the Rolex submariner as you stated Nick. For the price and practicality, think about that for a moment.
Comparing this watch to a honda civic with a 20 thousand dollar body kit just doesn't make any sense. Nobody is sinking more money into this watch to try and make it anything more than it is. I just bought this watch for $34.95. Amazon black Friday sale. I don't feel bad for purchasing a high value watch. Money saved that will be invested in my 401k.

and the really sad thing is that this is probably the best watch they have available....everything else practically they have for men is a manhole cover with really floppy second hands on the quartz models and rubber straps that disentegrate. when perusing watch websites i wish i could select "NO INVICTAS PULEASE!"

Well, I own several Invicta's and have quit buying watches (like I did). This one is not representative, e.g., clasp difficulty made more difficult with your short nails; bezel hard to use--I have several and no problem with them. You were somewhat picky for a 60 tortilla watch, e.g., bracelet polish, second hand not spot on. This is a daily beater and it holds up. And you want variety from their designers? Invicta has maybe 10 gazillion different ones and I probably dislike 99% of them... or more, but there are worse on the market.
As a daily beater, its great. Id buy one myself if i didnt already have 7 watches & already have 2 beaters 😁
They are good watches for what you pay. Id argue that you can't get a better watch for the money
Nick, always enjoy your reviews but come on. You pick one of the cheapest invicta divers to compare to a Rolex or omega. Every watch company has a sub. image. They have swiss versions of these divers for around 200 that will compete with anyone feature and component wise. No most of us can afford a Rolex or even an omega. My two cents worth . Harry

That's an Invicta "ladies" watch, the men's watch is the size of a 52 Buick.
It's a '53 Buick and most coming in varying sizes. I saw one the size of a '62 Olds.
I'm about to buy this even though I'm a mechanical snob because I want a small quartz that looks good that I can beat the shit out of. I have the 40mm NH35 one and it's good but I will really best a cheaper quartz to death. With the stock bracelet I usually fold the lock out ever so slightly because they are extremely tight.
Do you know that invicta made this design, without cyclops in 1950, much time before the american company buy it and remake the factory. And tudor use this design and after rolex use the design in the james bond movie? with litle diferences. but now for U$ 40,00 dolar, it's a very good option, it use seko engine and good quality build. And it is good to have all this invicta logos, it show that the watch not want be more than it is. This is a generic yatching design, many other companies use similar design, buit with muth more price.
You seem to have forgotten why most people buy homage watches. It's usually because they are unable to afford the huge price tag of an authentic Rolex for instance (or unwilling to pay the huge price tag even if they can afford it), but they like the design. So, the question should be, is it a good quality homage, not "oh my god, they've copied the design of a Rolex Submariner!". If you don't realize that or snobishly look down on someone who would actually buy a homage watch, then just review Rolexes. I'm just sayin'.

Interesting thing about Rolex homages: lots of people get bent out of shape about them, but that doesn't seem to include Rolex themselves, or at least not that I'm aware. Luxury brands are a bit of a law unto themselves. They want to be universally known and desired. They want to be aspirational to the masses, but owned only by a few (and they use price as a barrier to ensure that this remains the case). I'd suspect that Rolex don't get upset by homages because they contribute to this aspiration and they don't actually reduce sales amongst people who would buy a real Rolex - quite the opposite, I suspect, on the latter point.

It's pretty cheap though. I am a high school kid and I am planning on buying either a Seiko for up to 200 euros or the Invicta 9094ob which has an automatic movement and it's a bit more expensive that this watch shown.

The clasp gets easier to take off over time this shows it is made sturdy . You can't see the Invicta logo other than in the case the others are all hidden unless you give your watch to someone to have a look. Being a minimalist the Invicta writing on the side was a concern for me as well but after buying a 38mm watch ı have to say it doesn't distrub me at all. Besides if you check for the meaning of ''Invicta'' ı found it pretty cool and it could be a good conversation starter. Who cares if they got inspired by rolex do you think rolex wasn't inspired by others in the first place? They are not the first watch makers. I like that the size is smaller than the Rolex and Omega .What is actually nice of Invicta is that they are selling it for a reasonable price nobody can convince me the Rolex is that much worth. It's just marketing . No offense you sound like a disney mafia boss.

i have the mechanical version of this watch, it came with a msrp of $599. some of the problems you had with this watch also apply but some of them don't. i think there's a lot of quality control problems. but it's a good watch for someone that is not getting into watches.

I unfortunately bought this watch because I liked the look. As you said, Invictus was copying the Rolex look. I could not and cannot afford a Rolex so I thought this would be cool to wear. It literally came apart after about six months. The diver’s bezel came off and the rest of the watch came apart. I was constantly having issues with the band.

Is the good lume so you can see when the hands fall off in the dark?
The lume is bright for about 5-10 minutes, after that it will be very dim for a few hours.
They have thousands of original designs, if you knew going in that you'd knock is mainly for being a Rolex homage why not just try one of the others? I'm guessing this was a pre-gem hunter video haha.
There are conflicting reviews of the lume on this watch. Some other reviewers report poor lume e.g. 6:09 in TimedSquare: ua-cam.com/video/Yu5TlNJkqO0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TimedSquare although that review was on the automatic version but I'd expect lume to be a feature that's independent of the movement

I found a Green and Black "Hulk" colored one at my local Walmart. I was going to get it, but the misaligned second hand looked awful. You are right.
I don't understand why Invicta is okay with that. I saw a $20 Casio with perfect alignment. If a cheap, Analog Casio watch can have an aligned second hand, why can the Invicta not have that.
