      Totally agree, it really is a solid piece. The PC32A isn't an earth-shattering movement, it's actually designed to be a ladies movement, but it gets used a lot in men's watches simply because it's slim, rock-solid reliable, and can easily be adapted, and it works well in this watch. It really is a fantastic deal on a solid watch. Thank you for watching!

    It's a lovely affordable 38mm(a bit small for my wrist but i really like it) quartz diver watch....I have the one with the scalloped bezel....I just removed the Cyclops since I am not such a big fan....Bracelet was OK but in a vintage NATO strap looks even better....I have actually wear it while i was snorkeling and despite the fact that it doesn't have a screw down crown was OK....I hear a lot of people complaining about Lume in Invicta diver watches(among other things they complain about while i find Invicta a very good brand)....Who is actually going to dive with this watches or who is actually a diver????I have 22 years in the Army and I find my 40 euros Casio(MTD-1053)to be an exceptional and robust watch which had suffered very tough conditions and still keeps ticking and doesn't even have a scratch....we are not all 007 to wear Omega!!!! I always thought that for quartz watches is not usually recommended to pull up the crown and have it not working in storage condition,is not good for the battery or something like that but i guess it has to do with the type and the quality of the quartz movement....Once more a great review....Greetings from Greece and keep up the god job!By the way the new Wenger Sea Force was released and it looks great....

    • @ToddsWatchshop
      @ToddsWatchshop  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I agree, it is a wonderful watch, spectacular quality... and such a good value. It's timeless styling of course... but an excellent watch. On hacking Quartz... the newer movements are actually designed now to incorporate that feature intentionally to safe power. It works really well for big box stores so that their inventory doesn't die-out and then they have to start replacing them on warranty or service them in-store for batteries.
      I will definitely check out the new SeaForce!!! I didn't realize there was a new one! Thank you!

    Thank you for the video, I’m currently looking for a Subby homage with good bang for my buck BUT I’ve small skinny wrists & I don’t want it end up with a huge bulky watch that looks manly on me. I think this one fits the bill ! 🙌🏻

      Thanks Tracy, glad I could help! I would say that I really liked this watch, it was fantastic quality and fit and finish for the price. I ended up selling it because I have 7.5" wrists, and I already had lots of divers. This is a fantastic watch. There are two models of this watch, the automatic, and the Quartz variety. The automatic one is a little bit more expensive and also has a screw down crown. For me, I prefer the Quartz movements for watches like this because I don't want to have to keep resetting the time every time I wear it. But if it's something you'll only wear once in a blue moon (or literally every single day), then the automatic will be a bit nicer. Thanks for watching!

      Actually, the quartz equivalent of the 8926OB is the 26970. I have both, and they are identical in every way except for the movement. The 26970 is exactly the same size as the 8926OB, and has a screw down crown.
      The watch in this video is the 89320B, which does not have a screw down crown, and is actually a little smaller too. I have no idea why they make two models that are so similar to each other, but if you want the quartz equivalent of the 8926OB, it is the 26970.

    I have an Invicta 9204 Pro Diver Quartz 200meter arriving today, courtesy Walmart for USD 32.40 :) It has a PC32A caliber, which seems to be just fine, despite somebody here complaining about it. Maybe that guy had a bad bad sample?
    BTW: You mention USD 5000 for a Rolex? BWAH-HAAAH-HA-HA-HAAAAHH ... maybe for a banged up used one :)
    I also have 2 automatic Invicta Pro Divers with the NH35A movement, which for a mechanical movement is unbelievably accurate. Maybe not as accurate or precise as a Rolex, but having paid less than 70 bucks for each, that is less than 1/200th of what a new Rolex Submariner costs. Rolex starts at about USD 7500 for a basic Oyster! A Submariner starts at around 15-20K, typically more around 40K, and if you want to donate more than 100K to the Rolex people's Swiss tax shelters, you can totally do that! Any perceived difference in quality boils down to being just picky, picky, picky, and maybe two or three seconds a day for the automatics.
    A dirt cheap Casio quartz, or that 32 dollar Invicta 9204 quartz from Walmart, is however more accurate than most Rolex watches in existence. My Invicta Pro Diver automatics are very fine watches indeed, and a very serious value at about 1/300th the price of a new Submariner!
    When it comes to accuracy, this side of refrigerator sized atomic clocks in labs, "the Schwartz is with the Quartz!" for under 25 bucks in a Casio W201. My last one lived almost 20 years with its original battery (never used the light!) and it was far better than Casio's advertised +/- 20 seconds/month, as it had stayed within 30 seconds when I set it once every year or so!

    Great review! Two questions: Doesn't the automatic version of this watch has a screw down crown? Does this watch with a Quartz movement even need a screw down crown?

    • @ToddsWatchshop
      @ToddsWatchshop  4 місяці тому +1

      A screw-down crown is generally more ideal for diving simply because it ensures better compression on the gasket. The Rolex version of this watch (where this watch got its design features from), has a gasket in the tube as well as at the back of the crown. This prevents water from getting into the movement... but on these watches, there's just a gasket at the back of the crown which only seals when it's closed. If you were to accidentally pop open the crown in the water... it significantly reduces the water resistance, down to something like 10 meters or less.

    Its called a "Pro Diver", and the bezel doesn't work ?? That's a HUGE problem. Rolex bezels work, and people absolutely dive with them. You also mentioned "early 70's James Bond" and showed Timothy Dalton who was Bond in the late 80's.

    • @ToddsWatchshop
      @ToddsWatchshop  Рік тому +2

      I couldn’t find a good picture of Roger Moore or Sean Connery… so Timothy Dalton it is.
      If I was going to go diving, to be honest, I wouldn’t use a Rolex or an Invicta. I’d probably use some digital equipment with a timer on my regulator , that also had an altimeter or depth meter.

    • @ToddsWatchshop
      @ToddsWatchshop  Рік тому +1

      Another thing that’s an issue… small jewelry and watch bands can be misconstrued as shiny fish scales, and can lead to attacks by barracudas… which is not fun. So when I go snorkeling… I usually am not wearing a watch.

    • @gregbarry5875
      @gregbarry5875 Рік тому +1

      @@ToddsWatchshop When you are diving, keeping track of your bottom time is very critical, so a watch is necessary. Barracudas being attracted to jewelry is an old wives tale. Barracuda attacks on people are incredibly rare. You are about 1000 times more likely to be bitten by a neighbor's dog than a barracuda. They can be poisionous however so while I don't mind swimming with them, I wouldn't eat them.

    • @ToddsWatchshop
      @ToddsWatchshop  Рік тому

      @@gregbarry5875 Is this true? I literally have a video posting on Monday where I mention the same thing again. It's terrifying looking, haha... to be honest, I've never been bitten by one. But when I used to snorkle regularly, I would see them. They would make a perfect sphere around me... with maybe a 5-6 feet separation. The pictures I found on Google Images do not do it justice. The ones I would normally see in the Florida Keys have these enormous gangly teeth that scream "I will eat you if given the chance, just try me..." but this makes me feel better. I always just took that comment at face value.
