    Hello all!!!
It’s frosty here in Ireland today!
Hope you are all well and happy...
For anyone concerned about charging batteries in the drawer. In Ireland we have different plugs, sockets and regulations than in other countries so it is safe.
Check out any links to other videos above in the description box! Have a magical week and thanks for watching! 🎈🌹❤️

Corralling your chargers is still a good idea. If you did this in a box with a lid you could take the lid off overnight. Or replace it with a gridded lid the air can come through.

My dad taught me how to replace plugs as well. He also taught me how to use power tools, etc.. It was a great sense of empowerment. I wish all dads would teach their daughters about power tools, and all moms their sons how to cook, and sew.

It's funny cause my mom is more of the handyman, she was born in a family of 8 kids, so it was essential that her dad made sure that each kid knew how to rely on themselves if any project was needed.

Sorry but I think boys should do what they are drawn to, which is more rugged pursuits than sewing. The Rockefellers funded 2nd wave feminism to undermine the traditional family unit for their own nefarious purposes. I used to be a feminist but not anymore. I believe traditional gender roles should be honored as much as possible. Of course everyone should have choices but pushing boys into activities that are traditionally feminine is creating weaklings among our men.

Seeing how my husband was raised by his Grandmother I can nearly instantly tell when someone was raised by a Grandparent. They just have a different way about them, an old soul. Oh how I wish I could have met any of my Grandparents! We as a society have failed our kids. Giving them a soda and an iPad and telling them to go to their room is teaching and benefitting them ZERO. i really like that this doesn’t involve getting rid of anything to declutter, or putting it away in storage and making it less accessible. everything is still just as convenient to access when you need them, it just makes everything look better and less overwhelming.
i find tips like this much more useful than ones that talk about how to just get rid of things, since there’s a lot of things that you use and need every day but still might be overwhelming to look at !

You don't even know how much I appreciated you using that old blanket to cover your stool!!! So many minimalists and frugal bloggers just get rid of EVERYTHING, and it just makes me a little sick that stuff that you paid good money for, and you know will have a use sometime, they just toss out! You have an uncluttered abode, yet still keep things. I love this, and kudos to you. P.S. I noticed at the end that you brought that candle into your bedroom, that I was afraid you'd just gotten rid of...appreciate that too. It just seems that some people's ideas of minimalism borders on waste and filling up landfills! Like, you know they aren't going to "pass on" a half-used candle, they would just toss it. I really appreciate your aesthetic.

      Try vitamin B1 for anxiety.
      Also magnesium.
Try an Epsom salts bath before bed.
And B6 for better focus if you need that.
Niacin can also help with depression.
Get outside and get some sun and fresh air daily. Nature is very calming.
If you stay busy it helps.
Fix things around your house, maintain the things you own.
There is still barter, volunteering, and making things for yourself that you need.
Learn a skill like a hobby, like:
sewing, knitting, cooking from scratch, baking sourdough bread, sprouting seeds, fermenting sauerkraut or Kim chi, making soap, making candles, creating some artwork that you like, plant a garden, grow some fresh cut flowers for flower arrangements, go foraging for local plants, learn to fish, learn to hunt. Learn carpentry and build a shelf, or chair or table or wooden toys. Learn to play an instrument, to sing, to whistle, to play the mouth harp (very tiny instrument you can just keep in your pocket.)
You can learn to cut your family's hair, how to groom a dog, how to detail a car, how to change your own oil and air filters, how to give a manicure to someone in your household.
Get all your learning curve done during the lockdowns, make your mistakes, have fun with it.
When this is all over, you can earn some money right away doing any of these things, instead of waiting for some big company to get their act together.

An idea I use (and suggest to friends looking for ways to reduce visual clutter) is to have a wall of book cases. Small treasures and keepsake ornaments can be displayed in front of book spines, keeping them off other table surfaces.

I like all your ideas and do many myself. I like to use baskets and have side tables or end stands with storage. I also like to put my produce in or on cute plates or bowls. I also hate cords and love that you are recharging as far from your bedroom as you can. I have a lot of neutral tones too but I do have little splashes of color here and there, but I am putting out less decor than I used to yet still enjoying changing things up for the seasons. I like to put dish soap in a glass soap dispenser so it looks better than the plastic bottles. I keep my nail polishes and make up in baskets, so I can always put them away but not have to drag out a bunch of items. Your home feels very relaxing. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely video. That hack for hiding all the charging cables was excellent.
I actually think a little pop of colour does not necessarily create visual clutter. I know you like a neutral palette in your home (as I do myself) but I think colourful cushions, or a colourful throw, could still look good on your sofa.

    • @wakingtheworld
      @wakingtheworld 3 роки тому

That's called an 'accent' colour, I believe. So my living room is charcoal grey with wood/browns/taupe and my 'pop of colour' is burnt orange - cushions, candles, some dried Chinese lanterns flowers. Thing is not to overdo it!
