    Having a clutter-free home makes it easy to relax and allows you to focus more on the things that matter.
    This video will focus on keeping a clutter-free home without disposing of the essentials. You can check out some of my other videos on how I declutter my kitchen, bedroom, and closet.
    There are eight simple ways to reduce visual clutter in your home.
    1. Have a place for everything
    2. Clear table and countertops
    3. Use trays to organize small items
    4. Decant
    5. Have a cohesive color palette
    6. Hide cables
    7. Organize clothes and laundry
    8. Remove packaging
    Make it a habit to return things to where it belongs, and keeping your home organized will no longer feel like a chore.

    "Placing things back to their place takes the same effort as dumping them" - This has to be the single most valuable sentence I've heard in a while. Well done, also really love the simplicity of your home. I am very much trying to do the same myself in a daily basis. Keeping things organised and doing a little bit every day will make a big improvement to maintain a clean and clear home. ;)

      You got that right. It helps you in the morning when you have to leave for the day. I remember watching A Single Man starring Colin Firth and on his Dresser he had a Bowl where he kept his Wallet, Keys to his Home and Car, not to mention his Tieclip that he wore as part of his suit.

    I love the fact that all of your storage needs make everything look so much more stylish. The effort you've put in for even the smallest things, producing professional labels for spices, sauces, etc. is incredible. (My one concern was the oils and sauces not being refrigerated - I desperately wanted to mimic this, because my fridge is overflowing with them, but people caution that if you don't refrigerate oils they can spoil within a week if you don't use them up.)

    • @saarahabrahams7435
      @saarahabrahams7435 3 роки тому +9

      I think it depends on the type of oil. We keep our regular cooking oil, olive oil and chilli oil in the cupboard. Been doing it for years without any problems. I think it should be safe in the cupboard since it's in a cool and shaded place.
      Maybe try it when your oil bottles are almost empty to test it out?

    • @ElleDeas
      @ElleDeas 3 роки тому +11

      Yeah, that's not true. Some sauces, depending on the ingredients, but if your oil is in a clean oil only container and hasn't been contaminated with food or water it should be fine for a long while. Oil isn't refrigerated in the store.

    Good Ideas and very realistic methods. I like it when not every boxes or storages are the same but it's still organized (+ not have to spending money and throwing things away). Hiding cable is the hardest for me, it's very good that you show many ways.

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  3 роки тому +1

      Glad it helped. Cable is definitely the most annoying for me, it's in every corner of the house so have to make sure there is a way to hide it before I start plugging in things.

    Thanksgiving morning, before preparing the turkey for the oven, my friend finally decided to declutter the counters on that side of the galley kitchen. (I’ve only been begging him to do this for years. 🤨)
    One week later, and they’re still clear. I even cleared the other (sink side) counter.
    It’s so much easier and faster to prepare food and clean up afterwards.

    You are so right on about The Clutter. I was never a Hoarder but I got rid of alot of stuff and it felt really good. Marie Kondo said that "Clutter Cuts Off Energy" and she was so right on. I keep things organized on My Dresser, Desk that I look at as my "Home Office" where I do my Budgeting, Banking and the like. As I am typing I am inspired to get rid of some other things that I know I don't really need.
