I recently purchased 2 Nintendo Switch Lite consoles for my 2 kids, do I need to buy 2 copies of games for them to play multiplayer? The games I'm considering are Minecraft, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Maker 2.
My only real issue with the switch lite is that you can't dock it. That's a huge feature that hurts it and definitely not worth $100 less. Considering I get 2 joycons , a dock, joycon grip the ability to switch between tv and portable mode with removable joycons and a kickstand made it a hard sell imo
Not such a popular comment but I bought A Switch Lite first, and “switched” to a A brand new V2 Switch and wow! It’s a bit heavier about 150-200 grams but wayyy better and when you dock to a 60inch TV than you are like omg okay that’s what I was missing, also in handheld mode I will be great in both so even though I started with a Switch Lite the Switch is just wayyyy better gotta be honest, at some Point you would love to play on a huge tv with beautiful graphics with your friends on co op or by yourself at night Switch is better than switch lite and it’s just a fact period, also do people forgot to mention a switch can also play like the wii used to, you can actually play real boxing games just dance or tennis and get sweaty, you can’t do that with a switch lite and a 100$ is nothing for these features If I was smart enough to admit I was lying to myself that the switch lite is better so can you, just go to the store and get the SWITCH.
over the last 2 years, I added 2 joycons, and a procontroller splatoon edition, brand new ...and...they both have the joycon drift - out of the box. Now they are just bricks...as they drift too much
I originally intended I would get the Lite model if I get a Switch. I don't really need the docking functionality, the price is alright IMO, and I like its size. Although it seems like there's still the JoyCon drifting on the Lite, decided I'm better off picking up the original Switch second hand instead if I was to get one.
Correct me if I am wrong but the only reason you were having the issue of not being able to play on the plane is because it was secondary to your home switch? Also, wouldn’t your kid be able to play anywhere anytime anyways if he has his own account? Being as that will be his primary anyways?
When you purchase digital you purchase a license. Just like when you buy physical only one console can play it at a time. Why would you get numerous copies of a digital game? You don’t get a box of multiple cartridges when you buy physical.
5:29 Finally something that is actually negative about the Switch lite that made sense. All the other "reviewers", all they talk about (that are also said in the beginning here btw) are things that has been done to cut cost and not "eat" the original Switch's market share. Kudos to you, you did a good job.

I’m confused? You say you want to be able to play a downloaded game on 2 separate consoles simultaneously and you wish you had bought the physical copy. But surely you would have to buy 2 physical copies to be able to do that. So you would need to download it twice as well
At 07:29 he states, that he wants to use the same copy of that purchased game on both consoles simultaneously. That wouldn't even work with physical copies. ;)

Nintendo has an easy workaround for your situation make a family account option where games are a little more expensive but can be played on as many switches at the same time as you want
my ps4 won’t let me play my downloaded games without WiFi either . All because I sold my old ps4 and someone has my primary account now, and PlayStation won’t do anything about.
I bought my first Switch recently. It was a switch lite animal crossing pack on clearance in Argos. I had it for a month and luckily I sold it for what I paid for it -€200. I've now bought the Switch OLED and it's a million times better. I don't recommend the Switch lite. It might be ok for a young person under 10.
Imma gonna buy it then buy Pokémon shield and smash ^.^ I haven’t own a Nintendo console since the n64 People can make a why not to buy this about any console The perfect gaming system has not come yet There will always be a down side
I didn't need this video to tell me why I shouldn't buy a Switch Lite. I had never planned on buying one. Why would you? Some games don't support handheld mode, hardly improved battery life, non detachable joycons, no rumble, no gyro, no dock, and as you said the secondary Switch requires an internet connection to access games kinda like how the 360 only let you play the trial version of the games until it verified your online account. The original Switch has everything and it's already portable. Why the hell would anyone like the Lite apart from the Pokemon one (which is the only one that looks good). I appreciate you're the one gaming UA-camr that was actually honest about this. All the other UA-camrs are so phoney and just like anything.
You're trying to turn it into the original switch....why the heck would you do that? so give it away and stop bad mouthing it. DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THIS NUT CASE!
I don't have a Nintendo switch lite yet I'm thinking about getting one even tho I have the original switch that docks to the tv should I still get the swith lite
Fun fact you can just get a used switch for almost the same price with tax and if you need joy cons you can’t charge them with the lite so if you don’t have a switch to charge them then you need a joy con charger so you would be paying more then if you just got a regular switch so if that’s the case just get a regular switch
Clicked to watch the switch lite video ended up closing after 41 seconds....i missed the old days of no commercial or any support, i just wanna watch the god damn video.
this is very good to know. I have downloaded Xenoblade and some others and I love it. but I want it also mobile. I would have to switch accounts mains. I simply want a nice portable game, similar to the 3ds or Gameboy. Good to know I would need to buy its own unique charging dock also. though this now seems it is much better to get physical copies if you want a Lite than download.
I buy physical games so i never have to worry about the account bull but physical can be a downside if you want to play games at the same time with 2 systems without buying the game twice.
Isn't the account restriction in place so one person can't just buy a whole bunch of games digitally and essentially share them with everyone for free. I think this is literally the reason why game companies have this restriction.
Ok I disagree with most of the beginning, but the entire reason I've avoided Nintendo lately is because they don't know online. Microsoft got it pretty well with the og xbox and Nintendo can't stick to one idea and it just screws up everything. I was able to play my ps3 then go over to my friend's and sign into my account with no issues, that was 10 years ago.
Easy answer: It is neither moddable, nor dockable, nor has the best battery life out of all models. Running Ubuntu or Android docked is half of the fun imo.
It feel twice as good for playing portable but I bought one out of impulse and haven't used it much yet. If I'm home I'm not going to strain myself playing a handheld. I like it though.
They should of fixed joy-con drift and they need to raise the joysticks a little bit so the range of motion is better. I have the updated switch and I like the battery life compared to my brother OG switch. But the joysticks sit to low because when you are running in a game sometimes you walk because of range of motion....
I already have more than enough distraction I need on my phone (and occasionally iPad Pro) I will take another look if there's either home console (no screen no battery) switch at a cheaper price or the switch Pro.
all games are supported on the lite when use a seperate pair of joycons, the analog sticks in the switch lite are a different model than the ones in the og switch and theres no solid proof of the lite having drift issues. solid proof meaning more than one video showing someone who probably forced the lite to have drift. as for games physical versions are better than digital and its not hard to buy a game case off amazon or at a local store. its how every other handheld console in the past worked. physical versions are also better because digital versions have licenses that expire meaning once you delete the game and the license for it expires you can no longer download it. look at whats happening with the eshop for 3ds and wii u its shutting down in july so all that money people wasted on digital games is gone. legally if your using a digital version of the game the company still owns it so only real way to own the game is buying the physical version and they have a right to stop people from playing on an alternate device due to piracy concerns so even tho you bought it it doesnt mean you actually own it
maybe the title should be changed to "why you shouldn't buy the switch lite if you already own the switch", because the "major drawback" you use a lot of time talking about is only valid for people who already own a switch. Like you mentioned in the video: "It's a no-brainer to get for people who are looking for a portable gaming-system". Therefore I find the title a bit misleading. Otherwise it was a nice review!

This video is weaksauce. Most of these problems are your own misunderstandings.
I'm perfectly happy with just my regular Switch. I can play anywhere, and on my home tv, I lose none of the features.
“How can they call it a switch if you can’t switch between the tv and portable”. Best switch line I’ve heard yet regarding the lite.
U actually can direct tv
My only real issue with the switch lite is that you can't dock it. That's a huge feature that hurts it and definitely not worth $100 less. Considering I get 2 joycons , a dock, joycon grip the ability to switch between tv and portable mode with removable joycons and a kickstand made it a hard sell imo
Not such a popular comment but I bought A Switch Lite first, and “switched” to a A brand new V2 Switch and wow! It’s a bit heavier about 150-200 grams but wayyy better and when you dock to a 60inch TV than you are like omg okay that’s what I was missing, also in handheld mode I will be great in both so even though I started with a Switch Lite the Switch is just wayyyy better gotta be honest, at some
Point you would love to play on a huge tv with beautiful graphics with your friends on co op or by yourself at night
Switch is better than switch lite and it’s just a fact period, also do people forgot to mention a switch can also play like the wii used to, you can actually play real boxing games just dance or tennis and get sweaty, you can’t do that with a switch lite and a 100$ is nothing for these features If I was smart enough to admit I was lying to myself that the switch lite is better so can you, just go to the store and get the SWITCH.
Is this supposed to replaced the DS?
No, it’s just a switch that is meant to appeal to people that prefer portables over home consoles
over the last 2 years, I added 2 joycons, and a procontroller splatoon edition, brand new ...and...they both have the joycon drift - out of the box.
You like IT IS size? Do me a favor: go back to primary school.
@@Don-h4d Woah don't need to get worked out about it. It's just a typo that I oversaw. No biggie.
This video actually made me want to buy one. Thank you:)
Fr
Don't buy it from the link in the desc
Correct me if I am wrong but the only reason you were having the issue of not being able to play on the plane is because it was secondary to your home switch? Also, wouldn’t your kid be able to play anywhere anytime anyways if he has his own account? Being as that will be his primary anyways?
When you purchase digital you purchase a license. Just like when you buy physical only one console can play it at a time. Why would you get numerous copies of a digital game? You don’t get a box of multiple cartridges when you buy physical.
Love the intro
5:29 Finally something that is actually negative about the Switch lite that made sense.
All the other "reviewers", all they talk about (that are also said in the beginning here btw) are things that has been done to cut cost and not "eat" the original Switch's market share.
Kudos to you, you did a good job.
what if you need a second switch for trading pokemon with yourself?
Misanthropy83 Literally the only reason I’d want a switch lite!
Do what I do, set it up as primary when traveling.
That's not what Linus told me
Oh no. People have different opinions. I can't believe it!
@@Thorn. Um, I don't think you you understand when to appropriately use "whoosh".

@@Thorn. Lol, no need to apologize. It's not that big of a deal.
I mean if all you need is a quick verification to start the game could you not just use your phone hotspot feature connect online and then turn off the hotspot once the game has started? or does it need to be connected at all times?
Video starts at 1:39
I get the switch lite is more mobile, but why can't you just take the normal switch with you instead? It's only a little bit larger and also is good for when you aren't on the go as well. If it's an obvious question I'm sorry I don't have one yet I still trying to figure out which one I should get.
Yep, thats why there flying off the shelves
I’m confused? You say you want to be able to play a downloaded game on 2 separate consoles simultaneously and you wish you had bought the physical copy. But surely you would have to buy 2 physical copies to be able to do that. So you would need to download it twice as well
4:35 duh the switch lite won’t fit into the switch thing to play on a tv it’s just common sense
What's the name of the game you were playing on the lite? Looks fun
Dead Cells. It's pretty cool
Then buy physical copies like the rest of us and use them on both systems ... ohhh that’s right lol
At 07:29 he states, that he wants to use the same copy of that purchased game on both consoles simultaneously.
That wouldn't even work with physical copies. ;)
Or use hot-spot
John Fitzgerald Mühlberger I know, I can’t buy a game on any other console and do that either without internet , silly
How about me a first timer Siwtch buyer... I want to buy one because my friends always asking me to buy one but the problem is I don't know which to get... The Regular or Lite... I am not that rich but I am also planning to buy PlayStation 5 Standard edition on release date so I want to get Switch Lite... The problem is some people saying to me that I am losing alot of benefits that Regular Switch gives when I choose to get the Lite tho I don't want to sacrifice my PS5 just to get a Regular Switch... Also if I get the Regular... The next time my budget will allow me to get a PS5 will be next year December...! Can you please give me a suggestion if I should get Lite or not at all as first time switch buyer...?
Yea that drives me crazy too, the hotspot on my phone only lets 10 gb through, tether lets infinity through, the big games are 32 gb. ive tried a few times for tether, a c to c cable.... it doesnt work
I have a lite for my kid and I have an updated OG with the more efficient chip and it rocks. Way better than the lite. I have an Aukey PB-Y3 30,000 mAh power bank and satisfy grip. And I live this thing. The light was just to small for me.
Imma gonna buy it then buy Pokémon shield and smash ^.^
I haven’t own a Nintendo console since the n64
People can make a why not to buy this about any console
The perfect gaming system has not come yet
There will always be a down side
change the title, this is a secondary console digital games complaint
Did we really just skip over the fact some dude got 2 Y buttons? Likes that's a video I'd watch 😂
You're trying to turn it into the original switch....why the heck would you do that? so give it away and stop bad mouthing it. DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THIS NUT CASE!
I have both and love the lite because I'm always in handheld
I don't have a Nintendo switch lite yet I'm thinking about getting one even tho I have the original switch that docks to the tv should I still get the swith lite
Why would u? I would never lol.
Imagine having two kids and both have one... that offline junk could turn into a all out war
Just buy physical games so they just share and take turn playing physical games?
I buy physical games so i never have to worry about the account bull but physical can be a downside if you want to play games at the same time with 2 systems without buying the game twice.
I want the Nintendo Switch Lite alongside with my Nintendo Switch
Isn't the account restriction in place so one person can't just buy a whole bunch of games digitally and essentially share them with everyone for free. I think this is literally the reason why game companies have this restriction.
Would you not have this problem if you were using the same account on two orignal switches too?
Yup. But then he wouldn't have had a reason to try and pick on the Lite.
If you have extra money go buy OG or V2 switch,
If you didn't have enough money or prefer portability only go buy the lite
I appreciate the video, but I already bought one and I Love it very much!!
They should of fixed joy-con drift and they need to raise the joysticks a little bit so the range of motion is better. I have the updated switch and I like the battery life compared to my brother OG switch. But the joysticks sit to low because when you are running in a game sometimes you walk because of range of motion....
I already have more than enough distraction I need on my phone (and occasionally iPad Pro)
I will take another look if there's either home console (no screen no battery) switch at a cheaper price or the switch Pro.
all games are supported on the lite when use a seperate pair of joycons, the analog sticks in the switch lite are a different model than the ones in the og switch and theres no solid proof of the lite having drift issues. solid proof meaning more than one video showing someone who probably forced the lite to have drift. as for games physical versions are better than digital and its not hard to buy a game case off amazon or at a local store. its how every other handheld console in the past worked. physical versions are also better because digital versions have licenses that expire meaning once you delete the game and the license for it expires you can no longer download it. look at whats happening with the eshop for 3ds and wii u its shutting down in july so all that money people wasted on digital games is gone. legally if your using a digital version of the game the company still owns it so only real way to own the game is buying the physical version and they have a right to stop people from playing on an alternate device due to piracy concerns so even tho you bought it it doesnt mean you actually own it
So confused? What does any of this have to do with the Lite?
Your Meant To Make The Switch Lite Your Primary Console
It's like he couldn't find actual points for this video so at this point it sounds like nit-picking..
Why are the buttons white?
is the sound loud enough with headphones? I have an issue with that with my 3ds and i fear the same wpuld occur with a switch lite.
philippe philippe it’s better than the 3DS I can confirm that. Just get a nice pair of headphones
@@yessdani Thank you very much
You should've just setup a separate account to begin with, that would be like building your kid a PC and then sharing your steam account with him
I laughed a bit when you put the original switch on screen and it has the same joy one as mine lol I love the dpad zelda joycon
maybe the title should be changed to "why you shouldn't buy the switch lite if you already own the switch", because the "major drawback" you use a lot of time talking about is only valid for people who already own a switch. Like you mentioned in the video: "It's a no-brainer to get for people who are looking for a portable gaming-system". Therefore I find the title a bit misleading. Otherwise it was a nice review!
I decided theyre not problems at all from Nintendo Switch Lite. the console is amazing, u just had a lot of demands that are only your problems, no console can ever be perfect. that is a portable one, and very powerful at that. I can bring it anywhere I go in my mini bag, and played more batteries than the regular switch,, Switch Lite is awesome!
The Switch V2 has way better battery, I started with Switch Lite same as you, I “SWITCHED” to the real switch and I can’t believe I can say that about my baby but the switch lite can be thrown to the garbage compared to the real switch
