I love the switch lite! Ive bought 5 switch lites on the secondary market for my myself, my kids and my niece and nephew. I wait for good deals or damaged systems since the switch is relatively repair friendly. I managed to snag a switch lite for 40usd! It needed new joysticks and a full shell and lcd/digitizer replacement, but even with all those components, it still only cost me half what a new one would and now it has a sweet transparent shell and hall effect joysticks that will never drift!
Still want a switch lite oled. Better battery, better cooling system, larger stretched screen, etc. I love the switch lite is one whole piece compared to the regular switch. I also hope for purple and/or lavender version at some point too. I kind of wish the thumb sticks weren't modeled after the joycons of the switch. But it was probably cheaper than making a separate thumb sticks just made for switch lite
Can confirm that the Lite feels amazing to play and hold in your hand! I have a day one Switch, V2 system, OLED and a Lite and even though I don't use it much, it feels 10x better than my other systems.
It seems like Nintendo is never going to make a successor for 3DS. And everyone else is trying to make their own Switch, instead of unique handheld system. If 3DS can't have have a successor, then why can't we have a new handheld challenger, like Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket or Wonderswan? Seriously, I want to play any potential new Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Owl House, Digimon and even Skylanders games on a handheld system.
As a mostly single player handheld player of Nintendo games, the lite is all I want and need and it’s kinda a perfect handheld system. My 8 year old self would have killed to have this over the game boy or ds
Even if it doesn't have all the features as the regular switch this console has definitely aged well and has some great editions that came along the way. Wish they fixed the damn drift tho
Yeah stick drift was the one thing stopping me from copping one of these. Buying new joycons is one thing, having to learn how to install joysticks and risk messing up my switch is another.
My bro got a switch lite last year and so far he happy with it, he used to looking at small screens from gameboy, ds, and psp/vita era. If i was nintendo when they made the lite i would redesigned the thumbsticks knowing that the drift might happen since they using the same thumbsticks from the joycons. But i guess more cost effect to use what they have already instead trying to use something new for the system.
Now I love the Nintendo switch. I got the yellow lite and the Zelda OLED. I’m debating which one to use and keep. I love the lite with its comfort and style of the unibody. I also love the OLED for its size and the availability to connect to the tv. Which should I do? Especially with Wonder coming out this weekend.
Thanks! I wish they still carried the skin in stores because I had the skin on my right Joy-Con but Nintendo threw it away when I sent my Joy-Cons to them get them repaired.
I had bought 3 switch lite over different times never did get the regular console the last lite is mine and I customized it with a case I ordered and a memory card is a must have, I dont see the point in a cartridge when I have many games on a SD card. I have my computer at home it is a stationary unit so it is nice having something portable that is better for gaming than my PC.
Somehow I'm back on board with my Lite. She's been retired for a bit, but now I have reasons to carry it with me. I did think they had to fix lites for free as well because of the lawsuit,
I got a grey edition switch lite back in 2020. I wasn’t disappointed but then it got stick drift and then I realised i should have gotten the turquoise like i originally wanted lol.
That would be fiya I love the switch lite plays all the games on the main consoles but slight downside is the battery life of the lite so if they did that it would be successful
I had a gen1 switch, ended up giving it to my sister. Picked up a switch lite 2 days ago and I’m sucked in. Best dedicated handheld ever. Found myself playing hours of Let’s Go Pikachu throughout the day between chores and some lite work. Didn’t even wanna jump on my pc
just got mine today it the perfect handheld device. but I think the screen was so small for me when playing NBA 2k24. but still i love it, I considered buying the oled but the price different was just so big for just a screen upgrade.
there's a reason they released the Switch Lite right around the time 3DS support was dropped. They were aiming at selling to those handheld customers, a device closer to that form factor and portability the OG Switch doesn't deliver. I myself went straight to the Lite from 3DS. Not so sure if i would get a Switch if they didnt relase the Lite model. OG model is just not that good for handheld mode.
What about the screen, I see a lot of people who have problems with the screen, saying that the previous year's production was bad. or just because people were using it carelessly?
I just wished it was way mroe comfortable to hold, although you'l get used to it and becomes comfortable overtime. And lastly, It could've been a lot better if it had a lot longer battery life span, although you can compensate this by lowering rhe brightness
so is it worth it to buy a switch lite if i don’t have any switch systems so i can experience the switch before the new nintendo system comes out. or should i wait for the new one
It's up to you. If you can wait till the next system comes out then just wait but most likely (just my speculation) the new Nintendo system would be backwards compatible with Switch games so you can buy a Switch now and then sell the system when the new console comes out.
I'd say jump the gun. I bought the Switch lite a month ago and it's honestly the best purchase I've made. I'm not worried about the new switch since I can enjoy the massive library the current gen has while waiting for the new one!
@@vsm351 yep, i bought one for around 130 at a local game store and it was worth it especially since i use it as my main handheld and secondary console

Get the Zelda OLED and if you hate the comfort, get a hori pad controller, pro controller or third party controller.
I really want the purple/blue switch lite because it reminds me of the Gameboy Advance SP. playing Metroid and Pokémon on it.
What’s very nice about that d&p switch lite is that it looks like a mini version of the bigger gray switch
