Thank you so very much!!! We thought that we were going to have to buy a new vacuum because it kept cutting out. We had not even realized that there was a filter. You explained and showed so clearly how to take it out and empty it, and once we did that the vacuum worked like a charm again. Thank you again.
Never knew you could pull the filter apart! Ours had a massive solid clump of dirt in and as soon as that was removed the vacuum is back to normal. Thank you!
Absolutely did the trick, washed the filters yesterday, still cutting out. As per your instructions, cleaned the bowl - no cutting out until I attached the stick, then a big blog of stuff shot up into the bowl from the stick. Now working perfectly. Thank you very much for your help.
Didn't realize the filter came apart. Was amazed at how much debris was still in the filter even with regular cleaning with water until i took it apart. Vacuum has more suction power after cleaning . Great tip from Nicole`
Had no idea you could pull apart the top filter! Thank you for this. Turns out I had a decent amount of dog fur and dust trapped in there. Now that’s out it doesn’t get so hot, doesn’t smell doggy and doesn’t pulse. Thank you very much for this video!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️
Thank you! I called Dyson and they didn’t say anything about cleaning but suggested me to buy a new battery for £70. I’m trying your solution now and waiting for the filter to dry - can’t wait to see the results! (Also how weird that Dyson official website doesn’t say anything about opening the filter to clean? I’ve always wondered why filter looks so clean (on the outside) but just realised how much dust it has on the inside lol
I loved it when you caress your handheld vacuum when you fixed it! We do the same. TODAY we have to replace our dyson 360 named Sputnik sea to sky 1 to get an updated version - we are very sad to return it. For some reason, we think of it as part of our family.
Thanks for this it fixed by issue. It was only on the full floor attachment it would cut off. Removing and cleaning the skinny central filter fixed the issue.
Thanks Nicole. Yours is an older model nowadays but my filter up top was chock-full of crap once dismantled. They don't make it easy getting the cap off do they! You don't muck about being gentle do you. It may damage some components if we're too robust. Just getting that filter cap off was an effort.
Thanks this just helped me fix my vacuum! (I probably should have read the manual when I originally got it because I had no idea how many parts needed to be cleaned...)
Excellent! This solved my Dyson's power "cutting out" issue. This is the only video that covers all of the disassembly and possible occlusion points. My only question regards the pleated filter on the back of the unit. You examined yours and did not clean it because it was not too gunked up, but how would you have cleaned it had it been clogged? Thank you for putting together such a comprehensive trouble-shooting video.
Ok you just need to wash it in water only. Keep filling then tap out water over and over until the water runs clear. Here is a video. ua-cam.com/video/LMl76cYTavI/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for sharing this video! This saved my vacuum as although I'd been rinsing the filter, I'd never got inside before and it was clogged from years of use! Thanks again! :)
Have you tried timing Dyson support. Even if it’s not in warranty they might be able to help you pin point another issue. Sometimes they even send out parts free.
Ok I found a video that should help. Basically there is a small red tab at the bottom near the dust opening, you need to push that with a butter knife then you’ll be able to slide the whole canister up, then release the pull lever. It will then make the canister come off so you can can release the bottom door. Starting from about 2 mins: ua-cam.com/video/D_cLZ6prkbY/v-deo.html
So far so good with this vacuum. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
My worse purchase :( we clean it and it always stressful to use it, when the hoover will have another tantrum. We have also big Dyson, animal which works very well.
Helpful video but ridiculous you have to go thru all that on a vacuum that looks relatively clean but still cuts out on full power. I have the same issue with V8 Cordless but have given up as it still cuts out even after replacing the bin (cracked plastic around the wand connector bit) & filters, plastic also cracked & broke around the trigger thus overpriced junk too be honest and not fit for purpose and won't be getting another ever again.
It’s about battery life and different surfaces. I use all 3 settings in different situation. Super dirty car I use the max. On my stairs I use the max and on light rugs I use eco. I use the retailer setting for most other things.

Same here, cleaned everything but nothing worked I could not get it to work in Max but pulled that top filter apart and cleaned it and instant success

Ours has been pulsing and we rely on it so I’ve been getting nervous. Thanks for giving me some actionable steps to fix.

Thank you so much! I had no idea you needed to clean the INSIDE of that skinny filter!!! 😊
You’re welcome!
Great tip about the filter and showing how to pull it apart .Thank you.
Thanks for this it fixed by issue. It was only on the full floor attachment it would cut off. Removing and cleaning the skinny central filter fixed the issue.
Awesome! So glad it’s fixed now.
Mine started the same way and ended up pulsing and cutting on either mode! Thanks for the vid!
Glad it was helpful,

Did you manage to get yours working correctly again?
Thanks this just helped me fix my vacuum! (I probably should have read the manual when I originally got it because I had no idea how many parts needed to be cleaned...)
So glad it’s working again!
Same… 😊😅

This vacuum is great🌼 Easy to use, sucks very well on hardwood and carpets. I am glad I bought it. Arthur Cox
This was super helpful, my vacuum is working again, i had no idea where the filter was. THANKS!!
So glad it helped!
I am very impressed by this persons ability
Thank you David.
Thank you. You helped me Seconds into you video 😅 - it was the filter. Working great now 😊
This was very helpful and thorough! Thank you so much 😊
So glad it was helpful
Thanks! Other videos don’t even show that you can open the filter.
You’re welcome
Thank you ! After 6 other videos, none of them showed the filter could be opened.
This is great bought a battery and psu, but all it was was this thing full of dust, I had cleaned it but never took it apart to get the bits out A+
Awesome! So glad it’s fixed!
Nicole, you are amazing. Great video
Thank you so much
Thank you for the video! It was super helpful!
You’re so welcome
Thanks! This was really useful!
So glad it was helpful.
Glad you mentioned after about not using s screw driver. I nearly commented about that lol
Yeah it certainly is soft plastic!
@@NicoleHerrickDIY ya I really hate Dyson plastics specially with the cost of em.
Cleaned all parts listed. Cuts out still even with attachment we have never used. Just replaced the battery and still having issue
Have you tried timing Dyson support. Even if it’s not in warranty they might be able to help you pin point another issue. Sometimes they even send out parts free.
It's recommended to watch this at 1.5 - 2x speed to save time.
You’re my hero, thank you
You’re so welcome!
Didn’t realize this was a cleaning process of its own...
I think I spend more time cleaning my dyson cordless than actually using it to clean. 🤦🏻♀️
That damn filter! Thank you!
You’re so welcome.
does it matter which window cill you put it on?
Ohhh, I had this vacuum! I just gave up on it.. wish I saw this before I gave it away! 😂😂
Thanks. This solved the same problem I was having on mine. All dyson wanted to do is sell me a new one
The suction head and bucket can be separated for easier cleaning. @2:32
Any ideas how we can open the red release lever which seems to be jammed

@@NicoleHerrickDIY Impressed that you’d research the issue for them! :)
Nice one took filter apart full of gunk A++++
Yesssss! Glad that gunk is gone!
Why don’t they tell you that in the manual?🧐🧐
so you need another vacuum to clean the vacuum?
Excellent

The brush gets hairs wrapped round it . Clean brush and it works with out pulsing
maggie thurston unfortunately that didn’t work to fix mine. A full clean was needed.
Thanks heaps!

Hahaha yes I guess it does!

I feel that the max suction function is a total waste. Why not just make the vacuum be more powerful???

I've got a V6 and V8.
