Scrap cards using die cuts.

- This project uses the scrap pieces that remain when you trim down layered journaling cards. The layers are: coffee died card, old dictionary page and pattern tissue paper. The leftover bits are then glued down to make a background base for diecut flora and fauna. This video is not intended for children.
Love Love this tutorial. Great ideas and tips. I am glad come back to watch again. Thank you very much for sharing.👍
That technique is not for everyone, but I love the look and effect it gives. Have fun with it :)
Oh Great! Now I have to start saving all those skinnies I normally sweep up! Lol! So simple yet simply perfect. Love this idea! I can't stop watching what you do Cori. Thanks once again.
Lol! Fortunately, they are VERY skinny and you use a lot of them for one tag/card. One (more....) ziplock bag and you’re good to go 😊
Hahahaha I love how we are all enablers in our crafty worlds 😂😂
The flower you made out of vellum and card stock is amazing! I enjoy watching your creativity.
@@carlettasharp5821 thank you. I hope you give it a try. It really is pretty easy!
I really like this, I like that you explain from the very start and show us too, not just cutting in after the base, previously made, I can only make things, if I see it, written instructions make no sense to me.
So pretty, saved Thank you xx😁❤️
Oh my! I thought I was the only one who saved such tiny cut off scraps. I use mine but never like this. Thank you for the new idea. can't wait to try it...Hugs-Tera
So happy to hear you like the idea 😊

Wow!!! Good ideas for scraps. Thank you!
Love how tiny scraps make beautiful projects! = :D
There is something quite satisfying about using up those little scraps. Thank you Angela!
Thank you, these are lovely! I knew I’ve been instinctively hoarding every last scrap of paper for a reason ! 😊
Well, here's an idea on ways to use them! Happy creating.
loving this process, thank you for sharing Cori - lots of ideas and inspiration as usual xxx
Thank you Mandy. I haven't made those in a while and I need to go back and do them again 😊
super creative! I too am backtracking through all of your videos as time allows and am learning so much, thank you for your willingness to share your cool techniques and discoveries :)

Fair warning: using those little bits is quite addictive!
Really love the look of this. Amazing how you can use even the tiniest scraps that you would normally throw away. So fun. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you. Those pieces are a lot of fun to make.
I love this technique. Thanks so much for sharing it!
Thank you. It is one I really enjoy doing 😊
Hi, another good idea! For people who don't have dies or a cutter - here in the UK I have purchased ready to use die-cut flowers via Ebay which are reasonably priced , and I use watercolour paints to match my journal colour themes.
Fantastic idea Sue, thank you!
Love these. Can't wait to make some. 🇨🇦
Thank you 😊
Cori, these are so amazing!!! Love them. Tfs.
Glad you like them!
These are great. Thank you, Cori.
Thank you Linda. Those are fun to assemble 😊
I'm backtracking through your old videos after watching your new series. Love this idea! I may use this for greeting cards too.
It is so handy to have reference materials in one (ish...) spot. Glad you are enjoying the videos and I hope they help with your creative needs 😊
Well I guess I had better start saving those thin little strips instead of throwing them away., because this is beautiful with a flower over them. Who would of known???? Thanks Cori!!!
Any excuse to save and create with little scraps!
Awesome tutorial! And thank you for telling us in detail too, because some of us are so new we haven't done ANY of this yet, lol. New subbie here :)
Hello! Thank you and welcome. I'm glad the details help and have fun with this amazing hobby.
These are so cool!! Love the way those scraps look and your die cuts are gorgeous!
A million thanks 🎃🍁🤗
I really love that you are using those tiny scraps. I save and use teeny tiny scraps too. The you use them though is so gorgeous 😊💚💚
Thank you. It feels good to use up some of those interesting bits 😊
Such a great use of a scrap I normally toss. I love that you use dies in your journals. They add so much.
Thank you and I’m glad you’re getting ideas you can use.
all your ideas are so lovely Cori
Thank you so much!
Love it ♥️thank you for sharing
Thank you Joyce!
Thank you, I love your style and attention to aesthetic detail! I’m glad I stumbled onto one of your videos and now I will see everything you post!
Welcome and thank you. I’m glad you stumbled by too 😊
Love this, I had to come check you out after seeing Gayle talk about you so much lol. I don’t have a die cut but I’m going to try using some fussy cut flowers because I just love how pretty yours are. Thanks for the idea and you have a new subscriber🤗
Thank you and welcome. I’m sure the fussy cut flowers will be perfect 😊
These are so clever and pretty. I keep my little cut bits too! Brilliant use for them!
Thank you. Those are so fun and addictive to make.
Love this look!!
Thank you, Pamela!
I love this idea Cori! Your work is so amazing! Tyfs!
Thank you Barbara. Those are such fun to make.
Hello Cori,
I love the simplicity of these and I to save tiny scraps like that because they have interest. Thanks for the inspiration, take care!
I’m glad you like it. Those little bits can be addictive, so be warned 😂
these are soo beautifully put together! tfs!
Thank you 😊
Such a great eye you have, you make beautiful art out of everything.
Thank you! I’m sorry for the delayed response. I just saw this and I appreciate your kind words 😊
Another great video. Tried this and it was fun, but I need to get a small glue bottle like you had. LOL
I really like the size of that bottle. Much more hand-holding friendly. Thank you 😊
I’m in love with your background, so simple yet it’s a brilliant look! I don’t have die cuts so I’ll have to get creative. 😊
Stickers, printed ephemera and fussy cut images from books and magazines and post cards all work well too. Thank you for your kind words 💕
You are very creative! 💕
Awwww, thank you 😊
Loved it 🖤 love how you save the scraps from the scraps. 😀 I can’t throw anything away. Really have enjoyed watching your videos. I am also a teacher and a paper crafter. I do the random videos also. How you find the time is what really amazes and inspires me. TF the inspiration 🖤 Isabel
Thank you Isabel! Some days (weeks) finding time is much harder than others. I’m currently teaching from home, so no hour-each-way commute. I don’t watch tv. My kids are adults. I don’t often cook (unless you count popping something in the toaster oven) and my husband starts work very early so he’s in bed by 6:00. All that to say, my evenings are usually free 😊
@@CoriDahmen Yes, makes sense. I try to get in my craft room at least three times a week when I can. Still I know it’s a lot of time you are putting in to keep us inspired. So thank you for that. 🖤🖤
@@isabel_journals it’s truly my pleasure. Less spendy than other forms of therapy 😊
I enjoyed this very much! Thanks for the inspiration. New subbie here
I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it. Welcome and I hope you find several ideas to try here.
Great idea.
Thank you!
Love these a lot Cori❤️❤️
Thank you 😊
😍😍👏🏻👏🏻
Love this!
Thank you! I hope it gives you some ideas to try.
I am new to your video and u are a great artist
Thank you Cathy and welcome!
Brilliant!!
Thank you 😊
Love it thank-you
Thank you 😊
Love this idea
Maybe I haven’t watched long enough but please, tell us about your dogs! What kind of dogs are they?
Thank you 😊
I've seen you use that ice scrapper in your other videos and was wondering what it was. Those of us in Florida don't know what they are. I checked Amazon but they don't have it, at least not on Prime. I'll have to keep using a gift card then. :-( Thanks for ALL of your videos. I love them all.
I got mine at the Eddie Bauer Outlet store. They were half off, so $1.50 each and I bought several and have gifted them, because they are so sturdy, yet smooth. Maybe their website?
Love your leftover scrappy bit cards! I think the monochrome looks very vintage and loved that one the most. I was wondering I’d you could share more info on the Seth Apter vintage wax-is it a powder? Does it come in different colors? Where did you purchase this item? Again thanks for sharing your creativity 🌟
I got the embossing powder from a friend in the UK. Another viewer shared that it’s available at Emerald Creek Co. and I just ordered some today. I have a die cut video in the works and I’ll show how I use it in that video. Hopefully this weekend!
I have been waiting for this!!! I hate putting the trimmings in the recycling. I have save them thinking paper weaving, but they eventually become an overwhelming amount and get tossed. THANK YOU!!!
You mentioned a bee’s wax you used on the die cut blossoms. What exactly did you use and where can I find it. ❤️
In the good news department, yeah! I’m glad you like the idea. I really enjoy making those. The wax is Seth Apter vintage beeswax embossing powder. Unfortunately, every place I’ve looked in the US is out of stock. A friend sent it to me from the UK.
@@CoriDahmen thank you.
Hi Cori, i love your red poppy what did you use in the black center ? was the red cardstock or vellum ?
Hello! I used red cardstock and inked it. The centers are made with Nuvo Crystal Drops in black, but I'm sure black embossing powder would work well too. I'm fairly certain the poppy die is from Simon Says Stamps. Happy creating!
@@CoriDahmen You are awesome, ty !
Beautifully done! I love these! What was the Seth product you mentioned? Is it a wax or a dimensional paint/glue product? I love the color and effect. Great job my friend!
Thank you! The embossing powder I used for the center of the daisies is by Seth Apter and it’s called Vintage Beeswax. It’s a lot like UTEE in texture, but it dries with an aged ink color.
@@CoriDahmen I will look for it, I like the color. Thanks
@@annettecolagrande3736 wish I could find some to purchase. I’d ship it to you. Seems to be out everywhere right now.
These are marvelous! I haven’t made cards in years because I couldn’t find a look I liked, but these could be it! I’ve been pressing flowers for a couple of years, and this is the perfect project for them. Thanks!
Cori can u help? I bought that Nuvo crystal glaze and try to put it on some small labels. They curled up. I tried to find videos on how to use it with no luck. Do u know a video I can refer to?
Hi Maria! I just released a video (in the last ew days) where I show why that may have happened and how I prevent it. Best wishes that it helps with your dilemma!
Scrapbookers do it but on a much larger page. Most people may not make the connection.
I’ve been out of the s rap book world for a while, but had not seen the s rap strips done. Then again, pretty much everything had been done or tried and we just see things at different times 😊
