- One of my very favorite things to do in junk journaling is to use up some of the endless scraps this hobby makes. Here are some of the basic go-to pieces I make when my scrap bins get full. These are just a few ideas of the many, many things you can make using scraps. I hope some of them encourage you to rethink your scraps. Take care, thank you for watching and happy creating!
I disagree that this video was too long. I couldn't keep up with all of your great ideas! It was inspiring!
LOL. Thank you 😊
You are NOT talking too long. I want More, MORE! I too get overwhelmed with all the “stuff” of this craft, and I’m a noob. I could (and have) listen to you for HOURS! LoL Your ideas are sooooo helpful. Thanks for making videos for people like me. 😄
You are too kind. I’m happy to hear that you’re finding the ideas to be helpful 💕
This one is rich in ideas - and immediately assisted with creative push.
Thank you 😊
Probably the most helpful video I've seen on how to use scraps. Love how you file to organize items .
That is high praise, indeed. Thank you and I’m so glad you’ve found it helpful.
Love it! What a feast. Nothing more satisfying than using up stuff that might otherwise end up in the bin. Nothing is too small or insignificant to be overlooked, that can find its place in something beautiful.
I agree wholeheartedly with Wanda !!! A terrific video for ephemera..storage ideas..and just plain fun ☺️
Thank you ever so much 💚
You’re very welcome. I’m glad you found it helpful.
Soooooo glad I stumbled upon this. EXCTLY what I needed. You should put all this in a book!!! I'll buy it!🥰🥰🥰
Just WOW ! Tons of ideas !! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!!
You are welcome Lillian. Sharing ideas is a happy thing 😊
Thank you so much Cori, I really really love ❤️ all your scraps and what you use them for. I really really love ❤️ how you put everything together. And it’s certainly very very organised too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thank you Mags. I'm hoping to carve out some time today to create with scraps. Scraps just make my heart happy/
Thank you so very much. I was so overwhelmed by my scraps I had no idea what to do. Someone suggested I watch this video for ideas and I'm so glad they did!
Thank you Lorraine and I'm happy to hear that you've found it helpful!
Well you have truly blown my mind. Just getting all this organized is a great start. I can’t help but think I have thrown out so many pieces that would be useful. Oh well there is always more paper!
Agreed. There IS always more paper and I'm happy to hear this gave you an idea or two 😊
Thank you so much for showing your system. It really helps to be organize. It relieves brain clutter. The best to you and stay well.
Thank you and I hope you stay well too 💕
Gosh, I can't get anything done while this video plays... gotta keep my eyes on the screen so I don't miss any of your beautiful creations! Thank you so much for the ideas.
LOL! Pretty sure I should apologize. Maybe :)
One of my favorite videos you’ve done, watched it multiple times especially when I’m looking for inspiration! Thank you!
I tell you, organization is everything! I'm glad you've found it helpful😊
Amazing!! I have bits & pieces of organization, so it’s really nice to see a more cohesive sorting system! Thank you soooo much! Erica❤️
You really inspire creativity through all of your videos!!! Love all of them!
Thank you 😊
Wow, there are so many goodies in this video. Thank you so much for sharing. I will be keeping this one on my to do list.
It was great hearing you acknowledge that organizing the bits and pieces of our craft can be hard. So we have to work on the not-hard aspect. I like your tray idea. You can see things and I'm a visual person, so this would work for me. Your file system in the long box is amazing! My pile now has a hope of getting organized. My hope is to get my things in order so that I know where things are. Thank you for sharing, Joyce
I just got a few more desk trays to sort out more bits. They are so much easier to use when they can be easily accessed!
Love your organization skills. I hate to throw any paper scrap away, but seeing a system to organize it, was definitely helpful. Thanks for sharing!
I’m glad you found it helpful. Happy creating 😊
And it's all in alphabetical order! You are amazing!
LOL and clearly a bit OCD 😁
I am going to have to rewatch and write everything down! I need a list of ideas - sometimes it’s like you just blank on ideas even though you know there is a million and one ways to add stuff to your journal lol 😂
That is exactly why I sort the bits that way. The ideas seem to escape when I need them the most.
I kept telling myself the same thing as I was watching.
@@nancypridham6556 I’ll revisit all of these ideas, and a few more, in May. We’ll build a scrap buster book here 😊
Cori this is the most fantastic and delightful video I’ve seen all year. So many ideas clearly explained. I’ve been getting into things made with scraps and was wondering how to organise. Now I know and have so many more things I can make. thank you.
SOOOOO many great ideas!! Thanks so much for sharing!
My pleasure Laurie. Thank you!
You've given me lots of ideas, both for using scraps, and for storage. Thanks!
You’re welcome and I’m happy to hear that you’ve gotten some ideas 😊
I wish my scraps looked that tidy. Very inspiring
LOL! They are only that tidy AFTER I sort them :)
FANTASTIC video!!! I needed to see how you have them organized. Compact, logical (to me), separated. Love the categories you have, just may have to ‘steal’ them. Thank you so much for sharing you bright ideas, process and what you’re thinking when working with your scraps
I’m happy to hear that you found it helpful. My brain gets muddled and I can’t create when too much chaos reigns. Thank you 😊
Looking forward to watching your videos in May
Such great ideas for organizing and creating. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure and glad you enjoyed it 😊
Hi Cori, best video yet on Busting Scraps !
Thank you. I found another bin of scrap buster items so video 2 is coming soon!
Thank you, thank you Cori, like so many of us, we keep almost every little bit of scrap hopeing to find a use for it. This has now inspired me to make use of all my little bits and peices and use them . Oh and I will definitely use your organization idea as well.
I'm happy to hear it has inspired you Linda.
I love your system. Mine is similar but not as refined as yours. Guess what I’m going to do!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your embellished clusters! So beautiful.
NOT too long. Every minute worth watching. ❤️
Lol! I hope the new system encourages and inspires you to create 💕
These are wonderful videos Cori - love your style and the way you sort your paper.
I knew I was saving those tiny strips for some reason I just didn't know what for until now! Thank you for this video. I am in the process of trying to organize the overwhelming area that is my craft room which is also the bedroom. This video definitely gives me a place to start which I didn't have before.
Kimberley
So happy to hear that I've helped. Happy organizing to you!
Wow!! So many wonderful ideas...thank you so much for sharing!
holy cow there are soooooo many ideas in this one video!!! Like some of the other ladies, I am going to watch this over and over and try your system out for myself. thank you so much for all the inspiration!
Thank you 😊 In just a few weeks (hopefully beginning May 1) we’ll build a scrap buster idea book so all these ideas will be stepped out, as needed.
@@CoriDahmen Have you considered scrapbusting with all those (dibit?) pieces when you take the half circle from a pocket? Could be challenging. I look every day to see if you have a new video out yet, I am always so inspired
ed. Thanks for your hard work!
Very clever and organized. Like all your little projects that can be used when making all your journals.......Very good Cori.
Thank you. It's a system that works for me, so I'm hopeful it can help others.
Thank you for this video. I think its going to really help me feel less overwhelmed too.
I'm so glad!
I like your idea on how not to get over whelmed - like your bin idea, I have something like it now. I will develop it to better serve my needs. Thank you picked up lots of ideas. 💖🦋🌵
You’re welcome Pat and I’m glad you picked up an idea or two 😊
I love how you organize everything!
Thank you. It really makes grabbing, and using, what I need a lot easier!
Thanks for sharing. It makes the process less daunting.
I finally got some time for your FABULOUS ideas. Better late than ever
Lol! I hear you. Sometimes video time is tough to find. I hope you’ve found some ideas you can use 😊
Cori Dahmen oh cori, absolutely. We built a mew house 2100 sq feet. My studio used to be over a 2 car garage with built ins. I worked for a large theater company designing costumes and making some in a pinch
Also interior design. Mostly window treatments and slip covers.
No more - I love combining my joy for textiles and paper. You gave me a wealth of information.
@@cheryltallafuss1886 oh wow! I bet you make some incredible, gorgeous things. I’m happy to share ideas, but I’ve no doubt your pieces are amazing.
Thank you so much such a useful video, now I’ll go and turn my scraps into useful embellishments x
Using scraps in different ways just makes me happy. I love hearing when others are inspired to use them too 😊
Yes, me too - a new sub! Snowed in for the past few days & found your video. Oklahoma isn't nearly as bad as Texas, but we're bad enough I haven't been to work in about a week. I love the way you have your embellishments filed & organized & then your explanations of how you use them - wow! It helps me see & imagine how I'd use them. Such a great way to share - informative & visual - thank you!
I’m happy to hear that this video has helped you. I love your state 💕 When we lived in Texas we took a few trips to Oklahoma. In fact, we visited Clarita in the fall one year for the Amish school auction and that was one of my favorite mini vacations. Be safe and be well!
Wow, this video is chock-full of helpful information and inspiration! All kinds of ideas in one place. I am also very jealous of your organization style. Fabulous video!
Thank you 😊
OMG, that was so inspiring! My fingers tingle!
Lol! Have fun 😊
Love your organizing and labeling of your scraps. Great use of all your pieces. I hope to begin organizing my material like you have. I've only just begun my journey in junk journaling, and yes, the amount of material can get overwhelming. But this was a very helpful video in sorting and organizing all materials. Thank you!
Great way to store scraps. Very organized. The clusters are so unique and awesome. I think you’re absolutely right, sometimes having too much gets me confused and just not creative but w/your method, seems to be more efficient and I’ll be trying this out. Thank you for sharing!
It’s been a game changer for me, working in steps, when I use up my scraps. I’m happy that it’s inspired you to try something that may make the process more enjoyable for you 💕
Such a helpful video! Great way to organize. My scraps have been scaring me!
Absolutely brilliant video. I've watched it twice and know I will watch again, packed full of so many great ideas. I love the way you organise your supplies. You've given me some great ideas
Thank you for saying that. I love sharing ideas and learning from others. It’s one of the best aspects of this wonderful hobby. Happy creating 💕
Thank you for sharing very helpful and beautiful.
Loveing all what you do
Thank you 😊
Great way of organizing scraps
Thank you!
I'm so happy I came across this video. It's truly one of the most valuable ones I've ever seen. Your process really makes sense. I so appreciate your sharing it. I was starting to get overwhelmed by my scraps. I can't wait to put your organization system to work.
Thank you Wendy and I’m happy to hear that the ideas are inspiring you to create 💕
What a lovely, helpful video - thank you so much. Like you, I frequently become overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I actually have and from time to time I cull the scraps. I think now I'll have to spend a couple days re-stocking my 'larder' to make better use of the leftovers.
Thank you Lynda! I'm "there" again. My scraps need to be culled a bit! I'm happy to hear I encouraged or inspired you 😊
I love using trays! Mine are too shallow though, but I use them a lot for bits and also for gathering materials for the next projects. Great sharing!
Thank you and I completely agree. Project trays are very handy.
I absolutely love this. How kind of you to share your wonderful creativity. This is one of the most helpful videos I’ve seen with creative tips to motivate us to just get making!!!
Thank you. What a sweet comment and I’m happy to hear it’s been helpful.
I love scraps.
Me too. So very much, me too ❤️
This video is awesome! Thanks for all the examples and organizational ideas too!
Thank you and I’m happy to hear it’s helpful 💕
I am really good at making scraps and keeping scraps, but not so good at remembering to do something creative with them. Thanks for the encouragement!
So many scrappy ideas to inspire us all! My pleasure, and happy creating to you!
Love the organization ❤ beautiful journal items...that's my style/taste.
Thank you Kim 😊
All your ideas are amazing...heading to my craft room to get stuff done.
Thank you for sharing. Love your videos.
Thank you Valerie :)
Very helpful video. Thank you. Sometimes it's a little bit difficult to create something because I have so much stuff. I love my stuff. But I think organizing it in a way similar to you will help me actually be more productive! Thanks
Amen. I'm constantly reminding myself to use the things Ihave!
Fantastic video. I love your organization skills and went right to DOLLAR Tree to get trays that work so much better than throwing scraps in freezer bags. I spend as much time organizing as creating. If I’m not organized I’m frustrated so your ideas have been a tonic for me. Thank you for so many ideas in all your videos.
I'm very happy to hear that the ideas helped you. I get frustrated when my space isn't organized, so finding systems that work for me helps a lot. Happy creating!
Hi Cori - thank you for sharing all the great ideas! I am glad I found your video! Hugs, Lynn
Hello and welcome! Thank you Lynn and I’m happy to hear you like the ideas.
This was wonderful, Cori -- and I'm insanely jealous of your stash, LOL!
A few good yard sales and thrift shop stops and you can build up a stash in no time!
Cori, this was so helpful the logic really helped cause when I’m in creative mode my logic leaves and I get easily overwhelmed also. So thanks a lot
Awesome! This is great! Thank you!!❤
It's an on-going, ever-changing project, for sure. But thank you!
My goodness...so many ideas! Your video came up randomly in my feed and I’m so happy to have found you! New subbie ❤️.
I’m happy too. Welcome Mary and I’m happy the video is encouraging or inspiring you 💕
Same here!!!! I subbed as well.
@@BethanyPickHer welcome and thank you.
Me too❣️stuck.... I mean snowed in with my Hubby here in East Texas~ looking for a great project video This is a good one🤭 Thanks☃️
@@farrerizmz I’ve heard about the crazy weather y’all are experiencing. Stay safe and warm!
I have this saved and plan to use your organizing process and make a lot of these. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome and there are more! I share 18 videos with a variety of scrap buster items. Maybe that could help you make the most of your scraps :)
So fun! Makes me want to go play in my craft room.
So go play! A girl needs craft time 😊
@@CoriDahmen our out of state company just left this morning so as soon as I get the house back in order I’ll be ready for playtime. I’m ok with playing when there are small messes in the house, but can’t relax enough to play until the big stuff is done.
@@mskerriboberri amen! I’m very much that way too 😊
THANK YOU CORI FER R THESE " EUREKA ! " MOMENTS!!! Wow!! I KNEW I was saving ALL my bits and scraps for a Good Reason!!!!🤗😇😘
- Mindi,,( The Queen of My Over-cluttered Hot Mess Domain!!Lol!-)
LOL! There is just something extra soothing and fun about creating with scraps.
Love, love, loved this video, Cory!! Sooooo many ideas and seeing the system you use is very helpful. I, too as I’m sure so many others, get so overwhelmed with ALL the “stuff” when we are creating. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! ❤️
Thank you. I figured if I get overwhelmed, others might too. Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for sharing your organizational methods. Much appreciated. It really helped me to do a major reorganize of my own scraps. I had things all jumbled into containers so it was a struggle to make clusters. Not totally there yet, but I can see light at the end of my scrap tunnel. Again, thanks!
I'm happy to hear that it was helpful! It's definitely always a work in progress as I change things up pretty frequently, trying to figure out which ideas work best for me.
Thank you so much for sharing this information! You are so talented and have a gift of explaining things. I enjoyed this video!
Thank you PJ and I'm happy to hear it was useful.
LOVED THIS VIDEO°°°
This is the most Informative Video!!! Many ideas at a quick speed. I usually have to play videos at a much faster speed, even when I'm making the item. Yours was Great!!!
Thank you, Pam and I'm very glad it was helpful!
Oh nooooooo. Now I’m going to be saving all the itsy bitsy teeny weenie tiny pieces of paper and paper strips.... will the scraps just never end. Did you have to be so smart with your great ideas... and you make everything sound and look so great. You have boxes and boxes of great ideas to use them darn itsy bitsy teeny weenie tiny pieces. LOL. I need to see more. Aghhhhhhhhh!
lol!! Thank you. I’m warning you... creating with scraps is addictive!
Such a fantastic video. Thank you!
Thank you 😊
Wow, Cori! You have some fantastic ideas here that anyone can copy or modify to suit the way they craft and the space they have. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
I see a semi re-.org in my future because I’m not happy with my storage of finished items. Love your long baskets with dividers, so will be giving that a try. Everything is so accessible, there’s always a spot for the things you make regularly, and you can see at a glance if you have enough or need more of a certain item - genius! I love refining my organization system, and I really appreciate your help! ❤️
By the way, your videos are the opposite of too long, and they’re always packed full of useful info. 😊
Thank you very much and making our craft spaces more useful is definitely a happy thing! Best wishes with the minor revamping project. I hope it goes smoothly and makes you happy. I love learning from others and sharing what works for me 💕
Thanks for all the great ideas!
You’re most welcome 😊
I am in awe of all your wonderful ‘starts’. I seriously believe you could whip up a dozen journals at a moments notice. I agree with the feeling of being overwhelmed, and your process is an excellent solution. TFS
Thank you Joy. Those tubs are getting full so maybe it’s time to create another journal or two 😊
Full of ideas and very useful
Thank you, Kerry 😊
I love all your ephemera, gorgeous
Thank you. A bit grungy and inky, but I love making them that way.!
Great video with wonderful ideas. Thank you.
I’m happy to hear that you like it. Thank you 😊
Oh yes, really helpful, thank you 😊
You are welcome 😊
Love your video with all that great ideas. Thank you
Thank you 😊
You are quite welcome!
Your videos are never too long for me, Cori. They are filled with extremely useful information and very practical and right on the mark for me, especially when you talk about overwhelm. I love how you think, systemise, organise and create! Thank you! 😀💞
Thank you Keryn. Organizing is so personal, but sharing ideas a great way to find something that may work for your needs 💕
Your tiny tiny scraps I saw, I have to admit I thought you had lost your mind when I saw you were keeping such thin scraps. Then I saw the scrap cards!! Omg cutest thing ever. Love how they look and now I’m gonna need to start looking for a new place to live, because I’m sure my husband is going to officially think I have lost my mind!
I’m sure you have found it by now, but the journal card with the die cut is now living in your tuck spot file area. I know I would have lost it too!
LOL! My husband only enters my cave to raid chocolate from my refrigerator. It’s best he doesn’t know about everything stored in this room 😬
@@JamieLOVEUMOREJOURNALS LOL! I lose, then find, things all the time. Things that fit multiple categories mess with me 😉
What a fantastic video. Very useful and inspiring. I have written a list and am going to make a reference journal with one of each item so I can use it for inspiration when I get overwhelmed. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I love the expression “hot mess”. 😍
Lol! I’m certain all those little bits jumped out of their assigned spots and mingled with each other. So glad you’re finding it helpful.
great video. you always make me see things in a different and easy way. thanks for all the tips
So happy to share new ideas and ways of doing things 😊
Thank you Cori! This was really helpful to see some methods (strategies?) to help me organize and USE my scraps! I live your 3 step process. I am easily overwhelmed by too many things to choose from and get bogged down by overthinking. BTW, I love all of your scrap busting videos. You are awesome! Deb from Oregon.🥰
Thank you Deb and happy scrap creating!
terrific video! thanks so much for sharing your ideas with us.
Thank you Linda. I’m happy to share 😊
Really helpful ideas and tips. Thank you!!!
My pleasure Paula!
This was so helpful! I’m a newbie and wasn’t even sure where to start with scraps! Thank you for this video!
Those darn s raps can quickly get overwhelming! Welcome to junk journaling and have fun!
@@CoriDahmen Thanks! I’m doing my normal and going overboard with supplies, but I’m LOVING it!
A brilliant way of storing scraps, going there myself, xxxx
So happy to hear you’ve found it helpful. I found another plastic container that I’d forgotten about.... might just follow Hollywood’s lead and make a Scrap Busters, take 2 😂
Wow is this going to help me....just identifying the different categories is huge for me. Thank you for sharing your system.
My pleasure and I’m glad it’s helpful😊
So many great ideas! I love your organizing skills. Right now I’m drowning in paper, so I’ll definitely be implementing some of your methods. Thank you!
Paper sure can get overwhelming! I have a full wall, a rolling file and separate bins full of the stuff. Telling them who’s boss helps 😊
@@CoriDahmen I found the bins at Daiso you recommended. They work fabulous!
@@rosem3577 that’s fantastic news! I’m happy to hear that they are working for you. Compared to some dollar store items, I’ve found them to be fairly sturdy.
That was awesome. Thank you.
I’m happy you found it helpful.
Found this very useful and inspiring. TFS!
Thank you for this great video!
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it 😊
I have to agree with Barbara, a most beneficial video about using up scraps. The true junk journal would be filled with these adorable items. My head is swimming with ideas now!! You have a very organised storage system which would make the world of difference to my creating process if implemented, wonderful video Cori. New subscriber for you here, always happy to support smaller channels. Take care and keep on making wonderful videos. Cheers
Thank you Leigh and welcome! I’m glad to hear that you’ve found some of these ideas helpful. Full disclosure though; I’m only mostly organized. I saw an ad for a video where someone had made small paper clip embellishments and I thought “I’ve made something similar... wonder where they are?” and I found a small bin piled high with more scrap projects. There *might* be a Scrap Busters 2 in the near future 😊
