Toyota made some pretty unexpected changes to their iconic sports car for 2021. In addition to more power for the Supra 3.0, a new 4-cylinder turbo Supra 2.0 makes it debut. Today, we look at all the differences between the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder models. - Авто та транспорт

I'd be a little bitter if I got mine last year and paid over sticker for them to bump the power on the new one.
Lesson: Never buy first year release of any vehicle

Especially when this shouldn’t have been the “first” year release of the car. Instead of building upon the legacy and design of the Supra. instead, they essentially recycled the name to make sales on a sports car that is NOT a Supra.
@@tonyc6996 With this logic, you will never buy any vehicle. There will always be a newer model with better upgrades, etc...I bought mine last July. I have been enjoying the heck out of my Supra for months, while everyone is still waiting for the 2021 to come out later this year. I have not seen a downside to getting the first gen. The car is plenty fast, and pricing was fine, if you know how to negotiate. We don't know pricing on the 2021 models yet. So if it's a few grand more than the 2020 listed for last year, I would say the 2020 was a much better deal since the performance upgrades can be done to the 2020 for minimal cost. To each there own though.
@@NEMotoGuy not at all true. First year you skip. Wait for the updates and buy 2021 in your case. Not to mention the air turbulence with the windows down. I'd be extremely disappointed

The 2.0 sounds great for a 4 banger, but the 3.0 just has a deep German growl to it that's so nice

You can hear it's only a 4 cylinder, but a good sounding 4 cylinder
I was really hoping to get a new Supra but it was just way to expensive with the 3.0. I wouldn’t care if I get the 2.0 I would just feel so fortunate to be able to own it.

Can’t believe the replies to your comment lol. Those criticizing “posers” are probably the same ones who debadge their 320i’s or add M badges to everything. I agree there needn’t be such a difference between engine levels.
You should get what you pay for. A faster car should look accordingly.
I mean it is only fair that if you pay $15k-$20k more for a car it is know. You are buying these cars to show off. Not everyone is racing these cars, so what differentiates it on basic road driving, it would be the looks and the sounds.
@@BrutalFates so the 2020 3.0 MSRP started at 50000. 2021 3.0 model should be more or less the same. and estimated 2.0 model to be 10k cheaper. For 10k you get 2 more cyclinder, different exhaust, bigger wheels, better brakes, better suspension etc. Unless they charge the 3.0 more, I don't think they can justify the extra work to develop extra "look" on the exterior

That uncovered 4 cylinder engine has to be least impressive rats nest appearance I've ever seen in any car including the Mustang.

The way they are treating the different powertrains reminds me of how Lexus did it on their IS/RC lines.

I have been hitting some impressive speeds on 695 in my fiesta st recently...
So is the T4 the base model? Or is there also a 6 cylinder base model? And I assume there's a 2021Supra GT or some type of performance trim.
Now this is gonna be interesting. Two beautiful 2021 Toyota Supra MK5 with a 3.0 Inline-6 turbo and 2021 Toyota Supra MK5 2.0L Inline-4 turbo. 😍😍😍😍😍😍
You can hear turbo whistle in the 3.0. Plus it sounds better
Can you put the mechanical differential on the 4-cylinder as an option? Or would the owner have to swap it.

The 3.0 has about five notes, it's louder and more expressive.

I'm surprised it has the "old" BMW startup chime when the Z4 uses the newer one.
I’d be happy with the 4 if it is that much less expensive and made financial sense. Of course with the new 86 coming out soon, which one will be a better value???
(unlikely but) If they can manage to make the base price for the 2.0 around 40k-43k (7-10k less than the 3.0) that will be a fantastic deal

Can you compare the Ecoboost mustang vs the Supra 2.0? sounds like an even challenge
srxshadow if anything i think it would need to be compared to the beefed up HPP Ecoboost, rather than your regular EB which is about 20k less. Actually sounds like a a lot of car for the money now when you compare them 🤔 tho most would still say “ bUt iT dOeSnT hAvE a V8”. I think it would be an interesting comparison
Really hoping the price of the 2.0 is comparable to a well equiped Ecoboost. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise considering everything they stripped off the 3.0 Supra
As an S2000 guy the 2.0 Supra has been the only car to catch my attention with new model cars... once i found out Supra only has Auto Trans Ive been having nightmares 😣

The 3.0 definitely has a better growl to it....that intake turbo sound is just like the original Supras

The inline 6 is a brilliant motor and if you can that Supra for 55k its a good deal.
But you can pick up nicely loaded C7 Corvette right now for the same and have more fun.

picture and sound says it all.......I sat in a 3.0 Supra before in a dealer and it feels like your in a cockpit.......I assume the 2.0 Supra will be in a forty or forty-five grand price range.
Still wondering why Toyota being the most reliable car brand thought it'd be a good idea to associate themselves with BMW being one of the most unreliable. I still have a serious problem with this.
Toyota is a family friendly car company now. They know that the enthusiasts market is going to pull any kind of good sales since they get trampled by the gernal car market already. They went to someone who already had experience with tunable i6 sportscars so that the cars price wouldn't sky rocket.

The 2021 Supra 3.0 sounds worse than the 2020 red one you tested against the Porsche. It sounds restricted and muffled. Or was it the camera mic?
He didn’t mention if it was on sports mode. I sounds way different when sports mide is on
We used a different camera to capture the audio this time, there will be another sound clip test next month when part 2 is posted!

the 2.0 sounds more basey but seems slower to rev while the 6 sounds more powerful and freerer breathing. overall the 6 is better
Well Thomas at Autogefühl give his impression of the 4 cylinder. I guess Europe only got the Embargo on price and horsepower ratings.
I love these BMW's, I 'er mean, Toyota's! I would want the six cylinder if I was buying it though, it sounds great and I'm sure it performs very well too! :-)
I would like to see a dyno of the new 3.0 and compare it to the earlier 3.0. Does anyone know if there's an actual difference?
2021s have different heads,lower compression,different pistons,stiffer to be more track prone,and is a few lbs heavier.
