      If you're referring to the face he makes as to resemble rage, that wasn't to interpret emotion. He makes that face to allow him to add a sense of extra rasp to his voice so he doesn't damage his voice.

      Oh, I agree! The visual aspect of this music video is a very important part of it, because with it they're adding another layer to the song. And they're also implying that it isn't too late, that there's still hope.

      @Divhreaza 4 роки тому +4

      @@narcissistectomy5134 It's easy to do! This guy has an AMAZING voice! But yeah, sometime watch it and really look for the visual story they're telling along with the lyrics.
      After the musicians get their instruments, an idea is introduced that there's this divide between the musicians and the ones who write music, (shown as a lot of young people) and and that's emphasized even further with the following verse, but watch in the final one, the musicians don't just leave the writers on the other side with no one to play their music, they get on a boat and take themselves to the writers.
      To me anyway, it's very symbolic about reaching out to those who are wanting to make art but have no voice to share it, and helping to give them the opportunities to do just that. Of not letting the silence win.

    Congratulations, you have just witnessed one of the best vocalists to ever perform in history, David Draiman has a voice and range that any other vocalist would kill for. Disturbed as a band is also incredibly talented and the reason why they chose to cover songs like Land Of Confusion and Sound of Silence is they believe music is a weapon. They believe people can be reached through music to be used as a weapon to change the world for the better. I have been a fan of Disturbed since 2000 when I first heard their song "Down With The Sickness", some of their albums have been better than others, and some of their songs will be timeless classics including this cover.
    I firmly believe Disturbed belongs in the R&R Hall Of Fame, or at the VERY least David Draiman himself.

    OMFG!!! I only found out that reaction videos are a thing on YT. First one I saw, bc CNN did a news story on them, was the Twins hearing Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight". Disturbed was the 2nd, and I've now seen it @100 times with different reactors, from vocal coaches to pastors to just plain folks.
    I heard the original when. I was 13 yrs old. It was the era of political protest songs. Now, as a 68 yr old granny, a proud hippie and citizen of Woodstock Nation, mu eyes and ears are waking up to music all over again!, through the reactions I'm seeing on YT. I'm also getting turned on to new artists and genres.
    Bless you and your cohorts on YT. You're making music fresh in a way it hasn't been for me in years. Also, makes me laugh when I remember when I was a teen listening to what's now called Classic Rock, the adults said, "It's just noise. It will never last!" 60-65 years later, it has not only lasted, it has brought different groups and generations together in a truly beautiful way ❤

    55 year old white woman, never heard of Disturbed until the Conan performance, since then, I have watched this performance hundreds of time, and will continue. This is my favorite music video and performance of all time. It’s magical. I hate hard rock etc, I wish though, he would do more songs like this for people like myself that don’t like rock but think his voice touches the depth of your soul. What a talent!!

    • @RareHarmony

      Cannabis seems to help my guitar playing at times, and B-Real's rapping, so I'm not surprised that it helps out David's singing here, although I'm sure he must've had plenty of water. Hard to sing like this with dry mouth.
