No she was right he was wrong. He saw them go in to the parking garage. He never witness then actually trying to steal his car. At most the only thing he has on them is a criminal trespassing warning. Which is barely a misdemeanor. You cant force able detain some one on Austin TX for a misdemeanor offence. Only for committing a felony in your presence. Which they had not committed.
All he had to do was ask them to leave if they refuse then get the police to handle it. He only need to observe and report.
Second as a security guard your not allowed to talk to the press while in uniform. You give the press your company contact info and tell them you have no comment.

Correct. And she did exactly as is expected by her company. I was once a level 2 officer. I was punished for detaining an active shooter. Put on unpaid leave, made to redo all my training and such. Even the sheriff's deputy who responded told me that I was gonna get in a heap of trouble for stopping all that death. The country is primarily focused on protecting the criminals. Too much "compassion" from a certain majority voting block.

So who do you know that will stand by and let that happen this ain't a fucking shoplifter when you have an active shooter for multiple people trying to steal a car with a weapon. You should just let it happen tell me how that makes sense how is that even a policy that even the police officers abide two

Yes, in Florida around 90-95% of security firms act this way. Private security is profit driven. The state FDACS.gov industry boards only meet every 5yr. They are made up mostly of security mgrs, company owners, range officers. The security officers need to find quality employers or some cases- public sector jobs with civil service resources, unions, EWPs, labor boards. I'd add guards need to read post orders, speak to mgrs about what, how they do the jobs. Some guards are lazy, inept, risk adverse.

God Bless you Sir! You are a good man. Unfortunately, there is a lot of politics in the job places. You were not in the wrong. Sometimes they expect you to call the P.D to handle the skate boarders and crimes but in this case it was your car and we all need a vehicle. Also, The 2 Juveniles should have been arrested for assault. The Austin Police department need to get with the program.

It was Beautiful to see a Successful Black Business Owner step in without hesitation to help a Qualified Black secure a better position with more training in an environment that welcomes him. It would have been great to see that Man's former Supervisor show concern and do her job properly. It would have felt fair for that other Supervisor to be held accountable for how she mismanaged a very serious situation for their employee. But that isn't what we saw. We saw a White Woman in a position of Authority scold a Black Man who had no choice but to attempt to prevent his property being stolen with no support or aid to assist him safely. She reacted poorly because she skipped steps in her own management and made it a point to publicly belittle him after a traumatic experience. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. Often certain companies will deliberately place poor middle management in their departments to ensure high turnovers that work in their favor from a financial standpoint, and they use People of Color to experience these tactics on.
