Some wishes for c70 II, 4:3 sensor for anamorphic shooting, IBIS, updated eye AF, built in variable electronic ND. With those specs it would be a dream camera since I am already loving the image it produces
Great summary of a great camera. We film daily with two C70s. One has a third party viewfinder (we use one from Zacuto, filming without would be difficult), an extra mic and a side handle. The other C70 has no accessories attached as we normally mount it on or in a car, use it with a gimbal, carry one on a shoot as a backup camera, or use it for filming a side shot on a tripod. The ND filters (a fabulous features), autofocus, dynamic range, dual card slot, RF mount and availability are its major selling points. Forget about the nonsense on UA-cam from reviewers who don't film. As this video nicely summarizes, the C70 is a great Netflix certified cinema camera.
I love the lighting in your videos! Thank you for your info on the C70. I'm currently "kinda" happy with my Red Komodo. I'm looking to get a C70 as a future alternative. Thank you
I'm with you, great camera. But "entry level"? You have to be kidding. Maybe entry level for total PRO production? But the BM6k, the GH6, one of the Sony cams...those are all closer to being "entry level" pro quality. In fact, I went with the GH6 as it had most of what the C70 does, aside from built-in NDs. And it delivers for literally less than half the price ($2200). The BMP4K is half again on price ($1200-ish), and offers outstanding quality images. Clearly entry level means different things to different people. But they are all amazing cameras.
I think the BMP are great for learning and personal projects but they're not pro cameras in the sense someone is going to hire you to shoot with them. Likewise with the GH6.
@@Crimsonengine It really depends on your market, and clients. I've produced pro commercial adverts with these smaller formats for years. With NYC clients. But sure, some want to see a RED. Less of those as the yrs go by.
@@Crimsonengine I completely disagree with you; I am actually kind of baffled by this response. You might be out of touch with the market or your work has never spoken for itself.
I just ran across this video and was wondering if you have any videos using the 7Artisan and C70? Although i know they are 2 different cameras, I’m looking at getting one for my EOS R. To go with the RF 14-35 L F4 is just purchased this past Saturday.
I think it’s difficult to continue to invest into RF whilst canon has many unanswered questions regarding their lens Mount law suits. Do I spend $7000 in a set of Irix RF lenses to find out a firmware update kills compatibility? Who knows?
Bmpcc6k not for professionnel long time or hard work either, cuz of overheating and after buying services are too bad and expensive that's what make it coast 2500$ instead of 5500$ c70 from canon
Rather go with a Sony FX6, as Canon has gone on the warpath against anybody else using the RF Mount 😕Nobody will be allowed to make AF lens for the RF Mount! While we're spoiled for choice with tonnes of options for Sony E Mount! Sony is being very open and welcoming to 3rd Parties.
Spot on. I was shocked to hear Canon not allowing 3rd party lens makers to create RF. How dumb is that? So now they have a small insular source of lenses for all their new cameras. How is this supposed to lure BACK all we expat Canon shooters? It won't. We've all gone elsewhere.
@@A_I_M_E yeah but if you're getting EF lenses you can go ahead and use that on ANY mirrorless camera (heck, even Nikons!). So why be stuck with only choosing from Canons going forward?
@@lanceevans1689 exactly Lance. The real power isn't in just the camera body but the whole ecosystem it is part of. And this is very narrowminded by Canon to keep their wider ecosystem very limited and closed of. Will help Canon's profits in the short term, but will definitely harm them in the long run.
EOS C70 is a beast of a camera (at least for my workflow) and I don't see perfect alternative, so I hope soon they will be able to do the same thing they did with EF lenses and open it up to third party companies, but until then I'll continue to use C70 because that's the only camera that works 100% for me. And suggesting FX6 vs C70 is a joke.
It cracks me up that on almost every video I get blackmagic fanboys comments their cameras are better. Why are you even watching this? No one binge watching 12k ursa or BMP reviews leaving comments about how Canon is better 😂
@@Crimsonengine 😂 actually every camera have it's advantage, canon is amazing, however, judging by the prices, for a ⅓rd price of canon c500mkii, one can get an ursa mini 12k pro which in my opinion, apart from it being a super 35, is one of the best cameras money can buy... That affordability with such amazing image quality is a goal
No doubt blackmagic make a camera that can create a amazing image, perhaps even the closest to Arri but I just don’t trust the build quality. I would love for them to team up with Panasonic to manufacture their cameras and co brand together. Might help Lumix sales. With all the new updates the c70 has my attention again even if it’s overpriced a bit.
The canon c70 is not a pro camera and never will be. One flimsy screen and no Sdi out are DEALS BREAKERS. So many other better alternatives out there for 6k and under

Interesting take given you have a Komodo! What about it makes you less satisfied?
The C7O is so sweet even compared to the FX6 as the Sony doesn't have a proper s35 mode (just with digital zoom)
Great informative video. What beautiful lens is that with the red ring?
..Wait a second, 01:50 - How do you load custom luts and still shoot log?
Load it as a look but shoot Raw.

Did You Shoot this Video With C70?
I'm sure it'll be with canon C500 mkii
I'd like to know as well, what camera are you using in your youtube videos?
The Canon C70 is nearly 3 years old. Is Canon done making new cinema cameras?
Tomorrow’s video, A Ferrari is still the best entry level sports car!
awesome video I love my C70! Also going to watch your movie this weekend! Do you have an RF to PL adapter recommendations?
The cheapest one on Amazon :)
And with a pair of Zacuto handles you look like a sci fi robot.
4 preconfigured Sigma fps Vs 1 $6K C70.
I prefer the fp.
Je pense que la meilleur reste la canon c200. Mais canon refuse de la mettre à jour. Comme par exemple mettre du 4.2.2 10bit.

If you define pro by not having SDI out, then you are ridiculous. Most pros use external monitors, so the screen is convenient,
