The real method for a media pass is to have a media pass for every airline. Your id on one side, and their policy written in the other side. Works all the time.
Little tip, if you have a media pass with Delta, more often than not, they let you use the priority/firstclass lane to check your bags. I primarily fly Alaska, they don't have special pricing for media bags. The only thing Alaska does it allow you to bring an oversized carry on as long as it can fit in the overhead bin.
I deal with media pass issues all the time. The response changes so much from agent to agent. We now always email if possible, print the email, and a print their policy. We still get difficult agents but as soon as a second agent comes over it solves the issue. Highly recommend getting oversized media lanyards, that solved our issue more than the quality of the business card sized ones.
Aputure Infinibars can be connected one to another seamless, like 2x 2ft are basically the same as 1ft, connectors are included in each separate light, also needs only one adapter if powered via AC power. Not the lightest light to travel with, but definitely can be stored in such pelicase. Also they have connectors for awkward shapes, like triangle, or one can do a wider 2ft light that consists of two side by side, have really powerful magnets to be used without a stand etc. Really versatile.
I only fly delta and have never been denied. However, as you found out some agents have their own criteria so i've always (when i need to use the media pass - i get 3x free 75lb bags on the norm) do the safe thing and email ahead of time but also have a media pass made up with the rules and numbers tucked in the back side including some Delta managers i have learned over the years that have helped. being a Diamond always helped as well. If i had an agent that questioned me, he would, after noticing my status, give me the benefit of the doubt especially since we used to get cards that we could give to agents for doing a good job and or complaint ones we could file. Anyway i've always emailed and never had a problem.
I haven't flown Delta but I usually do all my flights through United. Doesn't require you to send approvals ahead of time. One time from SNA - IAH the counter lady wasn't having any of it. She denied the media rate. She didn't even know what a media pass was and was questioning why I was bringing my inovativ cart (under 99 lbs) for the media rate. It wasn't until a senior co-worker stepped in and told her that they had that program. In the end she realized she messed up and from then. In the end I made a media pass one that's super legit and have never been questioned ever since. It also helped that I arrived 2 hours early at the airport so I could wait to speak with a higher up if it didn't work.

Is there some kind of authorization needed for this?
Unfortunately for him, the agent printed Delta's policy where it stated he just needed a media badge, and he was still denied.
@ none. Companies sell “legit” media passes but all you need is a printer and paper
@@vinhsanity the agent went against the policy and he got his money back. A rare issue.

Fantastic video. Very insightful. Think I’ll go the vista print route. Love the vlog/bts style content as well.

That angle was definitely too low. I always shoot at eye level or higher and angle down slightly for more flattering angles.
That ended rather abruptly… are you okay?
Exact same thing happened to me per media pass just a few months ago but WITH SOUTHWEST!
Submit a claim through their customer service. I was able to get a $300 fee reversed this way
Nice. In my town-ish. San Antonio is 20 minutes south from me. Very cool.
Wait. So ANYONE can have a media pass?
Yup!
Yes! If you're traveling with multiple bags, create a media badge/pass instead of paying outrageous rates.
lens should of been straight, so you don't give her a double chin because of the shadow.
