HoTD is based off of the book Fire and Blood by GRRM. Unlike his other books that GoT are based on, fire and blood is more of a history textbook type. Specifically, this show will focus on Dance of the Dragons, a Targaryen civil war that ultimately lead to the death of all Targaryen dragons.
