The withe strip is normal, it happens all the time when you try to print two things and align them. The printer sometimes moves the paper a bit. To avoid this from happening you should create a "bleed area", so even if the printer moves the paper there wont be any blank areas.

Do you have any idea why the print always comes out a little smaller? In CS6 the dimensions are all accurate -px, ppi, paper size etc. yet the print never matches
Great question! This usually happens due to printer settings defaulting to ‘fit to page’ or slight PPI mismatches. Double-check that scaling is set to 100% and the PPI matches your printer’s DPI. Also, make sure margins aren’t affecting the print area. It might take some trial prints, so I suggest you test the prints with images that don’t have too much artwork to conserve your ink. Hope this helps! If you found this useful, don’t forget to like the video and share it with others facing the same issue. I’d love to hear if it worked for you!
@@PABGames Thanks I was able to solve this! I had it printed in store and they just printed as default instead of fit to actual size (which was only possible thru putting it in a pdf instead of the raw .tif that I had) so it came off a little bit smaller. Hey very good video. Now what if you wanted to reprint the actual artwork of the game on to the actual disk. How would one do this?? I would like to know what i would need and how i can re print the disk picture onto the actual disk. Please let me know. Thanks
Hi, I set the size the same as here with 300 pixel resolution, so identical sizing. I did this in GIMP. When printing it it turned out about 1/4 inch extra in height. I did turn on ignore margins. Any thoughts? Whenever I need to print a case I feel like I have to relearn it every time, probably because I do it so infrequently. Oh you got a thumbs up! :)
I was hoping to learn how to print cases for digital only games (when physical is available I get physical) so I can still see in my cabinet what games I have. Like Astro's playroom.
Using Adobe Photoshop how do you align your background with the cover art because I did some test and the background always leave some space and is not aligned with the cover art
Same settings and resolution, as far as I can discern (gimp doesn't show me alignment and scale settings). I seem to be missing 8mm total (4mm on each end) in width and 4mm in height (2mm on each end)... The spine is still fine though. I used mm with my first print, and that caused the image to be super tiny even though it translated correctly to inches when I changed that setting later (which then resulted in what I reported above). Any idea what the problem might be?
thanks for showing me where to download the template game so i can scale to small size and print this and show them to my friend that i have bought so many game to show off them i got this game
Dude, thanks a lot! By the way, do you know where I can get the "boring text" that comes in the reverse of the cover for some games? You know, the one that says "Warning: Photosensitivity/Epilepsy/Seizures" in English and French I'm too much of a perfectionist.
I want to do this with a custom cover I made for a Blu-ray case. I am having quite a bit of trouble getting the colour right, on top of that the printed image comes out quite blurry compared to the cover I designed. Does the paper have any effect on the clarity of the end result? Or is it the printer's fault?
It’s probably the printer’s fault or the resolution of the image. What resolution is your image? Whenever I find a cover that I want but the image size is too small, I go about making my own custom cover. If you print a small image the printer has to adjust the size and zooming in will make it look blurry
@@PABGames The cover I made is close to 3x the original resolution so it can't really be the image fault. Does the type of paper make a difference? Does something like photopaper make the image sharper?
@@StefanPiano sounds like you’ll need a higher resolution photo. The paper won’t make much of a difference. It’s the pixels in the image that matter the most
