JUST and odd variant to phallo, I found out that if you're overweight (I know you're not, but I am a hefty FTM" that if you want to get phallo and you want a "tummy tuck" at the same time, they can use the excess skin from a tummy tuck to do phallo, with NO scars to arms, or wherever they need to take skin from.. Just another "I didn't know that" until I researched it" moment. I've rarely been in good shape (food and medication issues) and have been big small big small big small big small my whole life.... and have excess skin. ANYWHERE you have excess skin can be used for a phallo if you let your surgeon know it :) I was surprised actually. Just wanted to share the info :) There are many hotels close to surgery centers that offer discounts if you're staying there for medical/surgical reasons, but you HAVE to ask, and also, the lost time from work anyone you ask to take you, and gas mileage, some insurances reimburse your driver for mileage, but yet again , you have to apply for it, and there's a time limit on when you can do that (depending on your insurance and all that junk.)
I have a question, if you get your penis made out of tummy fats doesn't that make it has less sensation than from arm graft? Since they're taking not only fats and skin but also nerves and veins from the arm. I know the sensation isn't guaranteed from arm graft either but still.
@@maximumtaste Arm grafts have more nerves, tummy fat has less, but still, you get the phallo and your body adjusts. Not as much sensation as from forearm or thigh/back, but still you get your "phallo" without such an obvious scar. It comes down to the whole "what do you want" vs. "What do you want put your body through" scenario.
There is a phallo surgery where they use the abdomin skin. Check out BillyJoeNewington's channel as he had it done from the abdomin. However the quality the skin will effect if its even possible, stretch marks will be a big no go and most larger guys will have stretch marks
@@skyeshaddix1835 Very true, stretch marks can't be used, or, if you're creative, you'd have a "zebra striped" phallo hehe.... I'm sorry, I'm an oddball and like to share my thoughts sometimes :) I mean no offense!
@@maximumtaste Good question, probably less sensation, but as you say, there's no guarantee yet. One other person brought up a good point that if there's stretch marks on the graft skin location, they can't use it because it's already damaged.

Hey Cody. Just saw this video in my feed and decided to watch it. It was really informative about your personal feelings regarding the entire process of having phalloplasty. I found it very interesting. But what I wanted to share with you is this is a year ago or more and your body now is so much more muscled and ripped and you just look so much more defined and bigger now. From 1 year ago you've done a lot of hard work and it has really made a difference. Not that you didn't look good then but just the comparison is quite huge. I don't even know if you're going to get this. I just wanted to share that with you. Today is Halloween 2020. Take care.
Thank you for always being so open about your experiences. I think the point you made about determining what your surgery goals are before you jump in is so important. I wish we could have it all: easier recovery, STP ability at urinal, deeper penetrative sex, and unassisted erections, but as of right now, we have to prioritize what’s best for us.
Also, unrelated but I hope someday you also do the discussion video about your faith background.
Ah man definitely wish we could have it all. And didn't have to give up an arm or leg or etc for it haha. And the faith video is next :)

Thanks! and I currently have Blue Shield and is what I had going into Phallo. I had my difficulties though with getting things covered so if you are looking for a super simple insurance I would go for Kaiser.

Reality check. He didn't have to go through any of it. No one forced him to have phalloplasty. It wasn't medically necessary. It was an elective procedure.

The Buncke Clinic microsurgeons working with Dr. Crane in 2014, when I had my surgery, took the flap all the way to the wrist. Sounds like they changed that up.

You said after stage 1 that there was a lot going on which made it really painful. Luckily for me I did the vaginectomy separate so when I di everything else it will just be everything else. ... would you said to someone like me with no pain tolerance that the pain is unbearable or is it manageable?

I've worked in plastic surgery (assisting) and don't understand why the graft is not taken from the low back. Potential hair problem using the arm; and the obvious scar that cannot be concealed ... (but not if the graft was taken from the back). I have seen three surgeries that created the penis using a very interesting procedure from the stomach ... a two or three step procedure, but virtually no scar. This is sort of a "roll and flap down" procedure and it looked amazingly real. Why don't surgeons do this procedure? So far I've not seen any video on this procedure.

Where I live the common technique for phalloplasty is first taking skin from either the thigh or the lower belly, wrap it around a tube and insert that into the part of the arm that will later become the phallus. this stays in the arm for at least 6 months. (you have to take out and clean the tube twice a day)
This method is used so the urethra can already settle and heal into the graft and you actually have to take less skin from the forearm. The scar will only be around half of the forearm.
Also general health insurance pays for all operations.

I wonder how you dealt with the pain after surgery....beeing a Anästhesist i hope they took good care of you with the pain....it is a hughe surgery! You look sooo male it is stunning! Your transition is amazing! To go through this all....wow! Cause it is the much more complicated transition! Be proud..allways! And to all the sexual questions you get.....there are so much ways to have fullfilling sex right.....! Also good sex happens in the head!

Why does phallo use tissue from the arm, and not breast tissue from top surgery?
Due to nerves and donor sites it need to be I guess have some sensation.
