The Number One Myme You never know. While I love equality and gender identity gaining ground, it does scare me to death that there’s a minority really looking for any excuse to feel offended, or to use you lack of understanding of a topic to accuse you of anti trans, anti gay pr anti whatever.
I am a 67 yr old woman, I'd like to thank you for sharing your experience as it has been helpful in helping me to understand. You are a lovely person. I wish you a long happy life.
@@Indipuk you can't just assume her sexuality and thoughts: 1. she could be pansexual 2. some people date transexuals AND still identify as heterosexuals, for them if their partner looks/acts as their preferred gender then they actually are that gender, they don't necessarily need to be born that way
I'm a cis guy and I can't relate to your experience, but watching your journey and seeing how much it means to you makes me so grateful that we live in a world where this is possible, and I wish every trans person can one day become their true selves. When you got your new birth certificate I couldn't help but cry together with you.
@WaVy Crockett #JizzBoss I'm a cis guy since I identify as male and was assigned male at birth. Jamie is a trans guy since he identifies as male but was assigned female at birth.
My boyfriend just took his first dose of T today. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to be alive, loving him, with all these resources and all these amazing people by our side. We've been crying all day, he is bright and perfect
I know this comment was 3 weeks ago, but I gotta say I'm so proud of him, and you for being so supportive. I can imagine that first day is probably one of the happiest days of a trans persons life!
@@Acetronomy Thank you so much for your comment!! ❤️ One month on T, yesterday! Every little change is beautiful and watching him become more comfortable as the days pass are a true blessing!!

I'm in tears. Literally. My 7 year old wanted to know why, so I showed her. She said, and I quote, "he's getting happier and happier!" I wiped my tears and said, "exactly."
My son is trans and even just registering him as his proper gender in high school made such an enormous impact. He is a different kid. I am so happy that you are finally where you want to be 100% including the birth certificate. Bravo to you sir. As E.E. Cummings wrote - it takes a lot of courage to grow up and become who you really are.
@Zara Gupta also from what I understand ur transphobic, so no hate, you do you, but I was just wondering why do you have a problem with people being happy and how does it affect u in any way?
@@RolandReaves I like how this fuck also mentions him having functioning breasts and ovaries. Like this isn't a video that specifically shows the surgeries in which those were removed. Hopefully he gets banned or whatever, so we can go back to good vibes
Im a transmasc, and since I’m still dependent on my parents and living in a *rather* not lgbtq friendly environment, sometimes somethings in life really discourages me. There’s even times where im actually feeling pretty hopeless. This video really inspired me, really. It’s always these types of videos and stuff that gives me hope and encourages me to keep going and fighting for a brighter future. Thank you, Jamie.
My brother is trans. I feel so sad for him when I see all these transitions on UA-cam. His psychologist ruined everything for him, and now he is unable to get testosterone and so there's no hope for surgery. He is an adult now and still looks so young. I know how much it tears on his self esteem that he has no facial hair and still has to deal with his feminine features. I will never lose hope he will one day get approved for testosterone..
@@vanessawestbrook9846 It's alright :) Going to a psychologist is the first step to your transition (at least where I live) because they have to judge wether you are 'actually trans' or not. If they decide you cannot transition, that's the end of your journey for then. Without the 'Go' from a psychologist, you can't get access to hormone therapy. My brothers psychologist didn't understand that he needed time to open up, so she instead decided that he was not cooperative and judged him based on the fact he didn't talk much in the first sessions. She was a dick to him and denied him access to testosterone. Now, my brother is so discouraged he hasn't tried again... And it's harder to get approval for Testosterone after you already got a 'no'.
Still you should know that sadly your way as trans woman will be a bid harder :/ Even more when you started to hit puberty already I still wish you the best and hope you can go your way to happiness has fast as possible
Remember, puberty in general is awkward! Plenty of cis people have an awkward phase once they go through puberty, even figuring out their style and what type of person they want to be and how they want to look like. Don't put too much on pressure on yourself
Don't get bogged down with timelines and expectations. You are doing it and that is exciting. This is the beginning of the rest of your life and everything else will fall into place.
I know nothing about gender transition, I Just want to see people happy. This video brings me joy. Edit: Guys, it's been many years since I posted this comment. Today I know a thing or two about gender transition and I don't support any irreversible procedure like puberty blockers or surgergy. Especially in minors. I still want people to be happy like before.
If you wanna know more I can give insight. You see, trans people suffer from gender dysphoria, the only way to calm it is to transition to their prefered gender. So basically, transitions cure their dysphoria (not fully but so much of it) so in short, they become much more happier when they transition
@@vixymix101 dysphoria must be treated psychologically/psychiatrically at first, but under the pressure of lobbyists and pharmaceutical companies, who having billions of dollars for selling meds & operations the process of getting those ridiculously simplified. Why nobody cures people with suicidal thoughts by just letting them commit one? Because it won't solve the main problem . Gender is enormously fluid concept and building anything on it, especially in society, where gender roles, sexism, misogyny are still everywhere is literally dangerous and destructive, especially when definition of gender changes by the needs of those, who have profit
The suicide rate is over the top. Often, the changes are not working well and complications prevail. They do it because it is available and actually now, it is also " fashionable ". Years ago, girls who thought they wanted to be guys, were labeled "tomboys" ; they got over it, when their natural hormones kicked in. We had one cute little lesbian girl who decided she was going through the change. She did the testosterone, cut her breasts and had an hysterectomy. Nothing below. She/He became unreliable, as he could not show up for work, on time but made excuses about some personal issues. By then he was visibly a guy, with lots of tattoos , whiskers and a deep voice. He got hooked on hard drugs and died, crossing a busy street. We do not know if it was suicide or just confusion. He was a mess ! Why did he not stay a girl with the homosexual tendencies ? We did not care, as we loved him either way. It is OK to be gay ! I see a phobia with transgenders who would prefer to be seen as " normal ", so they may actually be homophobes, we enable to make such radical changes. The surgeons make money......Hospitals make money. So, we go full speed ahead. Destroy functioning body parts for dubious results and see how far we can go with this, when people are dying of starvation, somewhere on the planet, not having enough food to survive. Here, we worry about complying with the issue of expandable sexual identity. Is that off the chart ? Priorities in the wrong places.
This was absolutely magical to watch. I'm a cis guy, and I just turned twenty this year, and honestly, I'm really feeling the emotions of leaving my teenage years behind and growing up. Jamie's journey is such an inspiration to all young men, cis or trans, who are coming into their own and finding who they were always meant to be. Thank you for being such an inspiration. I'm subscribed.
This honestly had me in tears. As a cisgender woman, I can only imagine how horrible it must be to feel like you were born or straight up being born in the wrong gender, especially in this society. The journey taking so long and entailing so many difficult procedures must have filled you with despair on the way from time to time, and I am baffled at your strength! And that makes it all the more beautiful and amazing how well your transition has turned out! You look amazing, brother!
I don't know exactly how a trans person feels, but as a gay male who hid behind a mask until my twenties because my parents were ultra religious and considered being gay a sin that would send you straight to hell - I think I can imagine, just a little. Being something you're not every day is difficult and painful.
@@ahahuehafook4207 he is a man, what's a man, and will always be a man. The difference from him in the past and him now, is that he is happy living is who he truly is. He's happy in his body and he's happy in his life.
I'm so happy for Jammidodger. From the time I was a child, I knew that I didn't 'feel like a girl', though born with female genitalia. Having been born in 1956, nothing was really known about being transgender, and most adults believed it was 'just a phase' for a girl 'being a tomboy'. As a very young child, my mother insisted on dressing me in frilly dresses and patent leather shoes. I was told to sit quietly while my brother and cousins were outdoors being rambunctious during family holiday visits, and I loathed it. As soon as focus was redirected, I was off sneaking some of my brother's jeans and a tee and tennis shoes, dressing in them, putting my head under the faucet to straighten out the curls, and outside playing, and it always brought me a world of hurt when the relatives went home. Dress code at school was dresses or skirts and blouses for girls, with no exception. I was thrilled when preparing to start high school because the dress codes loosened, and I could finally wear jeans or cords to school. I still had to wear a dress or skirt on Sundays, because the Mormon church requires it for girls and women. How I envied my brothers their suits and ties, or even slacks, white button down shirts and ties. And the Mormons are extremely non supportive of LGBTQ or non binary people. I did what I was pretty much forced to do, under the circumstances of when and how I was raised, and I married a man when I was 24 years old, and gave birth to a son. I've remained married, and my husband and son both know who I am, and how I am. I've lived a lie for decades, but I do love them both and would never leave them. And so I've never been able to live my authentic life. I'm filled with pride and happiness for every Trans person who moved heaven and earth to achieve their dream, to be who they were. Whoever you are out there, I love you and support you, and rejoice in your happiness and successes, and weep when so many people are cruel, vindictive, and dismissive.
@@jordanjoy9040 Why are you here if you're just going to do shit like this? That's just cruel! You've actively searched for this kind of video just to use the wrong pronouns? What? Nothing good on telly, so you thought being a dick on someone's very inspiring, brave and wonderful journey was a better use of your time? On behalf of everyone here, Fuck off.
Many people have already said this but anyway, I can’t even think how people can ever be against this. You can see how happier and confident Jamie gets as the video progresses. His reaction to the gender recognition birth certificate was too wholesome. And the proposal 😭 I smiled the entire video. And Shaaba stayed all the while. THIS IS TOO SWEET.
Well he is lucky because he is tall with wide body structure. Who knows perhaps he is chimera having both sexes in various places. But it is clear not everybody can pass even with hormone therapy. For some reason Jamie's shoulders are wider. I thought hormones can not affect the skeleton with. Hmmm.
@@Helena-ox7crMate, working out can widen your shoulders, just like it can alter other aspects of your body. Not to mention, testosterone changes the fat distribution and allows for muscle mass to be gained easier, which would make his shoulders wider even easier. Don't know if you're trying to make some kind of conspiracy, but there is none, just biology.
Why is anything you said relevant? What matters is that practically all trans people who desire transition are happier with transition. The fact that some are luckier than others doesn't change this. The fact that they are happier after (versus before) is all that matters (to us as outsiders). @@Helena-ox7cr
@@Helena-ox7cryou don’t have to pass a test; (especially from a cisgender person), in order to stay out of the storm of hate under the Transgender umbrella. People like to think they are “better “ than most other animals; with rights and privileges, but for Transgender people we often are treated worse than a rabid dog. We don’t resort to hate or violence in general, when describing a dog. You never hear most people get on the floor of the Capital Building and say that we need to legislate against Poodles because they aren’t real dogs. A German Shepherd is a dog but not a Chihuahua. No we just consider them a different kind of dog. And most people give their dogs and cats the same types of surgeries that are similar to the type that are some of the first surgical treatments that we as consenting Transgender adults have done if we are considering transitioning in this binary obsessed world. We don’t perform trans surgery on children, and you don’t have to have surgery to be standing under the Trans umbrella. My only wish is that one day the storm will pass and the rainbow 🌈 is bigger and brighter than ever……
Um, can we talk about how well done this video is? I scrolled for a while and was surprised that I saw no comments about the fantastic edits and clip choices. The rewind was super cute and really creative. Aside from the overwhelming joy I felt in watching the story and the relief of seeing the bookend on Jami's transition, he has a real talent with storytelling through video. This was great all around.
You helped me understand what "Transgender" meant and come into my own identity as a transguy, not to mention I used a lot of your advice and hacks, and seeing someone I look up to finishing their journey to happiness in their self is so so great. Love you Jamie ❤️
Casper Whitby for real, jamie was a big part in the beginning of my personal transition, seeing a british guy who i’m very similar to made all the difference back then. i fully sobbed during this video which i did NOT expect, i had to keep taking my glasses off lol. it really touched me and gave me back some hope in a way i didn’t expect. lovely video ❤️
I’m a foster carer and we need to be prepared to support our young people as they go through so many stages of self discovery, your story has helped me get a better understanding of something I honestly found difficult to connect with. God, when he looks up from his certificate, all teary-eyed, and then he smiles and quietly goes "...male" That hit me so damn hard- Jammi my feeling aaaa
@Zara Gupta The fact is that you are not a woman because you have female chromosomes and / or female genitalia. The difference between gender and sex is not very clear to you. I’m a trans boy who’s just 4 months in testosterone and I wanted to say that watching this made me cry so much. It’s amazing seeing the results of T over the months and how without realizing, you just start feeling more and more like yourself. I'll never forget that line from B99 when Captain Holt goes: "Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place." I've never seen your videos before but this made me tear up!! MASSIVE love from Portland, OR :)
It's so weird seeing him in his female body, but as the video progresses, he becomes more and more himself, the one he wants to be, the one we know, and that's pretty awesome
I'm a cis gay man and I absolutely adored this compilation. It made me so emotional to see how much LIGHTER you looked after your transition was well underway. Even setting aside the more obvious and dramatic physical changes, the difference in the look in your eyes drives it home better than any words could just how fucking important it is that trans and gender nonconforming people be seen and recognized and celebrated for who they *really* are. You're a great communicator of your experience, and we're lucky to have you putting it out on the internet like this.
I know I'm late, but I only found Jamie recently. As a trans male, I find this video absolutely wonderful. He gives me hope in the world that maybe someday I'll be like him. Accepting parents and loving friends. Jamie, thank you so much for giving me hope in this dark world that one day I'll find the light. I love you so much. Thank you.

I know I've said that a few times already but I really am! You can get trough this, I'm sure. Stay strong! Moonꨄ︎
I'm a cis-het woman who has always identified as female, so I have zero idea of what it's like to be trans and the struggles trans people go through... and this video was one of the most wholesome and uplifting videos I've ever seen. Just seeing the joy in your face the more masculine you became was so beautiful. That moment of overwhelmed happiness when you got your certificate was so raw, I teared up a bit too. I'm so happy for you that you can truly be yourself.
When we begin our transition, it is often an immense happiness that sets in, we feel we are changing little by little ^_^ But what can spoil everything is what is called "ordinary transphobia" mainly, physical violence, aggression, and worse, are fortunately punctual (and even then, not always...) ''Ordinary'' violence is therefore ''jokes'' like ''I am a combat helicopter'' and all the variations, questions that are too intimate, because we are seen as ''things'' and not human beings deserving respect and benevolence; it is also the remarks behind our backs, the refusal of jobs, housing, while until the visualization of our identity documents before the legal change... more or less rapid change depending on the country, and sometimes impossible . I live in France, and until 2017, to change the M to F on the identity card, the judges could require (and systematically did) proof that we were operated on at the genital level, with a minimum size for , I quote, ''to allow penetration'' (even if we explain to them that it does not concern us! ), and the second objective in the requirement of these surgeries was to castrate us... One last example : a student doctor, when he leaves my room, said ’’all these are hiv positive whore ’’ ....
Same. I'm yet to start T but this makes me really hope that my voice would start changing soon enough after I do start. Coz I feel like it's one of the biggest parts of my own dysphoria
@@cvVampria I didn't because of the messed up laws making it even harder to get. frankly illegal for a trans diagnosis, but I had my gender marker changed so to acces it I can get a prescription as if I'm cis but have an imbalance. But I don't want to risk going on t and then having my doc suddenly backpedal. Coz y'know it's not too safe for allies. But I got hope. A bit of it at least. Got to move in with a couple trans gals and that helped with coping.
The voice is really amazing, he's so lucky it turned out that way, also a real Adam's apple, I don't know how he pulled that off :)) He never looked like a girl/woman to begin with, so his chances to turn out to look that great were very high from the start. And finding your soulmate on top of all that...he sure is one lucky bastard!:) When I look at the early pictures of your relationship I am getting past-life connections here. She might have been your mother in a previous life, honestly, the way she looks after you and everything. LIfe's such a miracle.

My pre T ass sitting here crying over this- one day all I'll have left to change is my birth certificate. Knowing that is somehow crushing and exciting simultaneously, because it feels so far away but will be so sweet. At 6:50 he says "male" with such emotion, its like a triumph, a relief. So touching.
The sex is in your DNA, not on a piece of paper after some possibly botched surgical procedures. Who you are is not defined by your sex but by your mind !
The tears of opening the new birth certificate were immediately contagious, and then the outro mirroring the style of the intro?? No hope, I am a puddle of tears
Its stuff like this that makes me clueless how anyone can be transphobic! Why wouldn't you want to see people being as happy as Jamie was opening that certificate! If transitioning can make someone so happy and so much more comfortable being their true self, why would anyone be against that?!
@@BLZ231 well said, and unfortunately very true. I’m 67 and don’t have a problem with it at all, but most people in my family and my husband’s family are totally freaked out by things like this. That makes me so sad.

"Feeling complete". Jamie, this is such a wonderful thing to hear, it literally brought tears to my eyes. I just stumbled over your account a few days ago and I watched this video just now. It made me so emotional and happy for you seeing your transition. Thank you for being so open about everything. It puts you in a very vulnerable position and I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your openness very much. R A the whole point of this is transitioning from female to male hence male pronouns. If you’re here to start a fight over something as petty as pronouns, I’ll go ahead and call you out and tell you to stop trolling people videos looking for something

@@emenemett no need to apologize, you’re all good. Because an afab (assigned female at birth) person does not naturally produce testosterone, they’ll need to keep taking T for their entire life if they want to keep their appearance- stopping it would result in facial hair stopping growing, breasts beginning to form again, etc. Also, someone doesn’t need to take T shots only, many use other forms such as pills or gel- Jamie for example switched to gel not too long ago. Hope this answers your question!
You'll have it one day, don't ever give up. Don't ever stop fighting for your happiness and your freedom to express yourself however you so choose. You're amazing and valid even pre-transition.
that's actually not exactly how it works: testosterone doesn't affect breasts once they've grown in (once once you've had them removed, estrogen won't bring them back) and things like facial hair and voice are permanent changes. but some changes, like fat redistribution and muscle growth, aren't permanent and will revert. but facial hair sticks around :)

Normal Human and people think it’s bad for trans people to transition
My brother is trans. I feel so sad for him when I see all these transitions on UA-cam. His psychologist ruined everything for him, and now he is unable to get testosterone and so there's no hope for surgery. He is an adult now and still looks so young. I know how much it tears on his self esteem that he has no facial hair and still has to deal with his feminine features. I will never lose hope he will one day get approved for testosterone..
I hope that he will stay strong and get better one day
Wishing him the best & he's lucky to have such a supportive sibling!
I know this might be overstepping boundaries but I was wondering how did his psychologist mess it up for him
@@vanessawestbrook9846 It's alright :) Going to a psychologist is the first step to your transition (at least where I live) because they have to judge wether you are 'actually trans' or not.
@@chaosnoelle I hope he doesn't get discouraged and that he finds a better psychologist hopefully one day he'll get testosterone wishing him the best

Hi there! I’m also MTF trans and this video is so helpful for a realistic timeline and I love Jamie’s content. We’ll get through this together sis!

Before I knew what mtf trans was I just read it as mother frickin trans

Allisson Diego Awww ILY allisson!!
@@кислотныйапокалипсис if you'd actually bother to know the only way to properly fix the issue is to work to get a body you are comfortable in.

We don’t resort to hate or violence in general, when describing a dog.
You never hear most people get on the floor of the Capital Building and say that we need to legislate against Poodles because they aren’t real dogs. A German Shepherd is a dog but not a Chihuahua. Jamie, thank you so much for giving me hope in this dark world that one day I'll find the light. I love you so much. Thank you.
Hope you have a wonderful future ahead of you Jake! Stay strong!
Hey Jake. My best friend, Jeb, is also constantly misgendered and deadnamed by their parents and I have seen how horrible that is to face. I just want you to know: I accept you, I respect you and I support you. No matter how many times people disregard who you are - just know that the microscopic stringy bits in your cells' nuclei don't define you. They never will. You define yourself.
All the love and support for the future 🧡
Omg, thank you guys so much. That means so much to me. This is why I come to supportive YT channels all the time. The community are the most amazing people ever. I hope it gets better for Jeb!!
Hey Jake,
I just want you to know that I support you and I'm proud of you for coming out and being yourself. It's really sad that your parents don't accept you and love you. It's really sad and even disrespectful that they deadname you and don't accept the fact that you want to be called Jake.
I don't really know what I should say to make you feel better or help you but just know that I support you. Know that I'm proud of you. You're amazing, strong and very brave. I'm so proud of you! I know I've said that a few times already but I really am!
You can get trough this, I'm sure. Stay strong!

@Zara Gupta I can't tell who you're talking about. Are you talking about me?
One last example : a student doctor, when he leaves my room, said ’’all these are hiv positive whore ’’ ....
i broke out into a huge grin when you started talking at the 3 month update because i started to hear your iconic voice
i’m proud of you, man
