I just traded my 99 civic for a 97 CRV LX, sears lay all the way back into a bed, the color is like a blue/purple ish color, has 245k miles but interior is MINT, runs perfect
I bought my 1997 Crv LX awd a few weeks ago runs great it has 195,000 miles. The only thing i dont like is the seats very high up and very uncomfortable. They should make it a little more adjustable to go lower and if it has side bolsters that hugged you it would be great
@ Depends on the mileage. Mine was listed for $2,000 and managed to negotiate it down to $750 after finding the brake lines rotted out. If it’s around 150k miles and good condition, sounds fair to me.
@@carchamp got it down to $2500. using this primarily as a backup car and to work on my DIY skills. If I use it for the year I think it'll have paid for itself.
@@julianc.6589 Awesome! If you find that your CR-V shifts funny or launches weirdly off the line. I recommend doing a transmission flush and rear differential flush. It will make for a much smoother drive!
I'm in the search for one of these right now and while my better judgement tells me to stay away from an automatic transmission, it's not mated to a Honda V6 of any kind, which means that the chances of failure are greatly reduced. I can't wait to own one of these along with my '10 Fit Sport because I miss having an incredibly simple 90's era Honda interior in my life. 15:00 I was wondering when he was gonna give it the beans, and I wasn't disappointed, even though this car is about as slow as slow gets, hehe. But that's not why I want one.
If you do end up buying an older CR-V... transmission and rear differential flushes are a must. When I got mine the transmission would bang into gears and the diff was slipping pretty bad. After the flushes, good as new!
I’ve got a 97 w/ a slipping transmission as well. Been driving it like that for two years. Lol I’ve just been putting water and oil in it for the last year and it’s been fine. Most reliable car I’ve ever owed. ….it did get stolen only owning it for a few days… when It came back I had an alarm installed. It’s been the best! Hope you get some enjoyment out of yours as well. :)
When I bought mine, the rear differential and transmission was slipping bad. Do a transmission flush and rear differential flush with OEM Honda fluids. Make sure cold tire pressures are set to 26 psi. That fixed it for me.
Could be the shift solenoids. They too are controlled by the trans fluid. You can’t do a flush, you do a fluid exchange 3 qts at a time. Do the first 3 qt exchange (can only drain 3 qts at a time). If you see an improvement, you can do an exchange 2 more times for a total of 9 qts. With a capacity of 7.5 qts, this replaces over 90%. There is no filter to change, the internal filter is cleaned by the exchange. I’ve had severe shifting problems instantly solved by doing this.
I can't even drive 10mph above the speed limit without being tailgated in the slow lane these days. People used to drive like me before the 2019 pandemic.
I've bought CRV RD1 few months ago, old car but happy to driving around with family
Im 16 and i got a honda crv 1997 it has 180 k miles nobody was driving it so they gave it to me as a first car ngl it didn’t have any problems
Nice was it an automatic and was it green?
@@DrscammerRacingrush2 it’s an automatic and it the silver one

I really like the no-talking! Super cozy vids all around. :)
С 2014 стал облодателем этой модели , отличная машина (японка)
I love these first generation honda crv
I just love the height on these cars. The visibility is always great unlike in Sedans. Resale value? I ain't selling

I loved my '00 crv, even more than my 2010
love the video, thinking about getting one this year, either this one or the 2nd generation love the aesthetics and vibe of it
Bought a 99 Honda CR-V 195000 mint condition for 5800 this summer. Most reliable car I’ve ever bought
These CR-Vs are tanks!!!
@@carchamp there's one local to me one owner great condition for $2800. Thinking this is a good deal by comparison to this one. Thoughts?

might need a valvule ajustment or something i owned 3 crvs and they dont sound like that and my most recent one is 5 speed :D
This engine is probably toast by now.
It kinda sounds like a timing chain
Yeah mine sounds way smoother
Compre una 1999 hace poco la verdad estoy sorprendido lo bien que anda y lo comoda que es.
22:26 Ты же пересёк две сплошных линии разметки,в США это не является нарушением дорожного движения?
No traffic violation in the USA for crossing. All good!
Why's the engine so noisy? I had same year CRV and it was so quiet that many times I would turn the key thinking it was off.
Valves out of adjustment most likely.

My trans is starting to slip and shifting poorly does anybody have an idea why and or had the same issue as me???????

I've never seen the dash clock delete plate before on a 1st Gen crv. Next to the e flasher button. Never knew they came without that clock. Lol😅.
97 was the first year for the CR-V in the US. They at least had the clock on the radio. Good enough in my opinion!
Spendid, as always!
I have a 1998 Crv and mine has a sunroof what does that make mine a EX or LX?
It's gotta be an EX trim
I have one. I wish mine was a 5 speed though
I just got a 1997 crv yesterday 🎉
If everyone drove like you, there would be no road rage ever.

By the transmission dipstick DER have to wire passing buy it can I see it
I have an 1998 and my turn signals don’t go off automatically, is that common and easy to fix?
You can probably grab a turn signal switch off a junkyard CRV for a few bucks and it's just a few fasteners to swap them out.
351,000 miles on mine. Drive it 5 to 600 miles a week.
Year ??
THIS IS A "FUEL-GUZZLING CAR"
Believe it or not I actually got 37 mpg all highway driving one time. Mostly averaged 20 mpg combined. Not too bad for it's time.
@carchamp of course l believe you. Greetings from lzmir(Turkey).
I hope I buy that 😢🎉
Что скажешь о машине?опиши,кпп,акпп, кузов ,подвеска ,стоит ли вообще брать?по рынку
is it for sale
Could be out there somewhere in the wild for all I know. Sold the car last year.
This thing is quieter than many new cars!
I want one so bad 😭
Get money 🤑
Me too😭
Looked like the strut mounts were rusting... Always a bummer to see a car that's really clean be a mess under the hood
I heard the gear changed to 5th gear when you’re on the freeway
Ye
Sounds like an old Willys jeep. That thing needs few adjustments
a b20 with clacky valves is a happy b20
Honda CRV Super I have the same one only in 1988
