Great drill, teachers one to attack the ball from the inside and also helps weight transfer and hips clearing. Very good drill! I'm off plus 3. This guy is on the money folks.

Oct 2018 - I am going to spend the next 2 months doing 100 reps a day of this so I get the feel. Nice winter training for me :) - DEC 2018 - reporting back after a month. I mastered it in a week and I can 100% this was the final missing piece and biggest game changer in my swing! I will forever be grateful for this video!!

I've had a ton of lessons over the years and not one professional teacher has manged to successfully stop me coming over the top and because of this my ball striking is weak with a shank in every round! I took this drill to the range last night and for the first time in 15 years I started hitting the ball out of the middle with a penetrating ball flight! Thank you so much for this fantastic drill!

Aug 1, 2020 ... WOW! Of all the in-person lessons I have taken and all the videos I have watched, this was the single most effective drill I have ever experienced. Brought it to my practice session minutes after “pounding the ground” in my living room, and I am absolutely astounded at the results. Have never experienced such solid and powerful contact - swing after swing. Awesome! Thank you so much!

63 years of playing and taking instruction. I have every swing gadget (2, might lose one), have MANY hours of one on one instruction with 13 of the the top 100 instructors in the world, have hit over 1 million range balls, played over 11,000 rounds of golf all over the world. This is the best drill I have ever found. Thank you for the genius of recognizing that it is not GRAVITY that brings the club down from the top, it is a coordinated, learned muscular hand/arm/shoulder/torso movement that must reconnect the aforesaid BEFORE significant rotation of the lower body/mid torso/upper torso powers the aforesaid through the ball. Ignore all naysayers. Keep the faith, thanks for bringing my game back.

+Jim Bob Plunkett Hi it looks like you know what you are talking about. Many people say let the gravity do the job. I'm with you all the way. The problem is there are more golf coaches than the stars in the sky. They all come out with different approaches to hit the golf ball only to sell their own methods. I'm 67 years old and started playing golf just over two years ago. I'm getting better and better every week as I'm doing a lot with golf every single day. Btw did you try the A Swing of Leadbetter.?

+Jim Bob Plunkett No No absolute no !This drill is an illusion of what really happens ! The body from belt throught arms just passively reacts to his right hip side move which of course he doesn't mention Remember heavy legs ! Light upper body !Good luck

I saw Rory McIlroy do this drill a couple of months ago and tried it myself. It was a revelation. To me it does a couple of things. First it helped me sync up my body from head to toe for the first time ever. Next I finally was holding lag properly and maxing out club head speed at the bottom of the swing. Consequently I'm getting the woosh-click that you hear when pros hit it. I don't have pro distance but I feel like I'm getting the max distance I'm capable of now.

I am a serious student of the game and an excellent player. This is great instruction, because it is simple and yet profound. First he gives you the drill. then the thought up, down and around. Many amateurs omit one of those three. In my case, I don't emphasize (around) enough. this tape reminded my of that. thanks for the good instruction. good backswing, tucked right elbow and release of right arm on around move.

+Jim Bob Plunkett Well said Jim. That's exactly what I thought. You're not just letting the club fall back behind you and hoping for the best. You are making a specific effort to actively PUSH the club into proper position. . And the interesting thing is, the lower body clears automatically - it has to or you can't release the club. Not to mention the increased energy transfer created by the 'push'.

I put this drill into effect at the range today and it worked nicely. Kept me from coming over the top and helped me slot the club properly and set me up for success. I hit some really well struck, quality golf shots and compressed the ball at impact. No more thin or toe hits or a variety of bad shots. Very consistent. Thanks

this is awesome!! This has been my swing fault from when I started golfing for over 40 years!!! I could never figure out how to fix it even though I know I have been coming around with my right should at the top of the back swing to start. I could sometimes fix it but never ingrain it and when I play any amateur tournaments it usually rears its ugly head. I shall be practicing this on the driving range tomorrow!! A watershed moment in my golf development I believe...thanks so much!!! Nick in Canada!!!

Hi Stephen, love this drill and has assisted many aspects of my swing , however can I ask is your lead leg still actively working when the club is in this deliver6 position or are your thoughts mostly in returning the club squarely with less of a feeling of working that leg?
    Thanks

This is a great drill. Henrik Stenson plays like this, saying the feeling he wants is one of hammering his right shoulder down into the back of the ball and through. I tried Stenson's move a few months ago, and it's done wonders for my game. Great stuff.

This drill goes right with Kevin Kisner's Push of the right hand for Width IMO. Thanks for posting....this will make many average golfers better. Not a better drill on UA-cam if you're struggling with the right arc of your swing.

Only one stray drive, long but OB, a couple of duffed short chips and a few weak putts stopped me breaking 80. Very simple, effective and in my opinion best tip out there to improve ball striking.

start of the downswing, initiated by 1) right shoulder down?? or 2) hip rotation? 3) Tiger said in his book that he uses "weight onto left foot" to initiate the downswing.
