These episodes that focus on the villains really showcase the flaws in hero society. Instead of people trying to get Toga help or at least tell her things would be okay, people only called her gross and a monster. Even her own parents. They told her to repress something she couldn't control. She didn't ask to be born with that quirk. So all of her repressed feelings eventually bubbled to the surface and burst out.
Twice's story is a good mirror of how mental health is treated IRL.

Agreed. Her parents should have tried to guide her in a correct way. Instead of saying repress (which never usually ends well), tell her to ask permission, never take too much. Give her a code. That’s the only thing I could think of besides just having to lock her up.
Love all of your comments, man. Keep up the good work. That's all it bubbles down to when Shigaraki says "Everything I've witnessed. This whole system you've built has always rejected me, now I'm ready to reject it." that statement really gets down to the heart of the matter.

I love how this episode doesn´t excuse Toga it just makes us understand her reasons.
In the manga it kinda give a good excuse for her actions but I mean there is nothing that we can do about her problem I guess?

@Ayjop Yeah, it definitely didn't work due to her upbringing too (nature and nurture combo). The anime cut out the part about quirk counseling mentioned by Curious, but if it was better it may have helped, but they went the repression route to try to ignore the issue.
Chisaki isn't dead - he had one hand disintegrated and the other taken by Mr Compress but was left alive
Shigaraki even taunted him, and told him he had to live without his quirk

Basically, Toga has a love of blood. When she loves someone, instead of kissing them, she wants to drink all their blood and “become” them. She repressed her feelings for so long, when she snapped she murdered her crush and drank out of the wound with a straw. From the outside, it looked like a normal high schooler suddenly went crazy

What they are getting at in regards to Toga, is that she was born with a blood-based quirk, which does not fit in with societal norms. The way she naturally shows adoration is inherently tied with her fascination with blood as a result of the quirk she was born with and had no control over. There are also other characters whose behaviors are linked to their quirks like Bakugo and La Brava. They mentioned last season that they provide quirk counseling to children, but that it was not a cure-all, Toga is one of the people who fell through the cracks and also did not have a healthy support system. Toga had to suppress herself in order to conform and eventually broke and went insane.
Which came first, the quirk or the personality? Can it even be figured out? Does a quirk influence the personality or does the personality influence the kind of quirk? I haven't kept up with the manga, but I feel there's not a lot of examples to know for sure, the only kind i can think of is someone like Froppy in which you can kind of feel that the frog quirk came first because while they didn't show the parents, I can imagine them having similar quirks and I don't think a whole family would have the personality of how a frog would probably be like.
Vlad King has a blood quirk too and he managed to get a job as a teacher at UA high.
@@johndinner4418 Asui's entire family are frogs. They were introduced in an OVA. Also, the quirk comes first. But, in the case of heteromorphic types that are born mutated, their quirks shape their personality from birth.

It's like your genetics and your brain telling you all your life as you grow up "hey, you can use your blood without hurting others and be a hero!" vs. "you have to injure someone and/or drink their blood like a vampire to even use your quirk"
If someone's quirk is like that, it's going to be written in their DNA to want to drink blood. Just like other disorders or mental illnesses, some people are better at handling it or can get through it with the right help. But the two characters we've seen that ingest blood in this series so far were murderers. lol
Why does Toga need to drink blood to transform? Can't she get DNA from eating hair, saliva, nail clippings, boogers, dandruff and dead skin? Why does the shapeshifter on this show have to be a vampire? Her quirk is Transform. How many comic book characters require blood for that power? Mystique doesn't need blood.

The only thing I am not looking forward to is the voice acting. Adult and Kid Shigaraki's voice acting in the sub was insane.
True hopefully they get a good va for kid shigi but the dub for mha is pretty good but it feels a little off to me this season but could just be me lol
@@andrewtorres627 The dub is one of the best out there, it's just that the sub is on another level. If you compare this dub with HxH for example, this dub is a masterpiece. But when you compare it to the sub, it jsut falls flat for me.

Take into consideration that Toga's quirk messes with her personality. She is the way she is because her quirk makes her be that way. She doesn't have anything wrong in her head, its her quirk making her want blood, that's why she sees herself as normal, because her quirk doesn't let her see other things as normal. This is something that is not mentioned in the anime but in the manga they highlight a lot how personalities are affected by quirks in this arc.
I remember this from the manga but then I wonder if her quirk were to be taken by AFO then would that side of her personality be gone as well?
@@Kenjiasamiya that might actually be it, cuz as a person grows with their quirk, that quirk isn't just a power, it's their personality, a quirk defines you in MHA, so if it was taken away from toga would she still love blood? Cuz it looks like ragdolls the same even though her quirk is gone, but then again her quirk doesn't work like togas.
@@Kenjiasamiya Its unsure. I believe its said earlier, but the quirk - personality relationship is only slightly known. They are aware that both connect to each other, but its unsure if someone's personality effects what quirk they have, or if what quirk they have effects their personality.
Even still, the problem with quirks like Toga's, I believe, Is set up as a societal failing not as a personal failing. Remember La Brava and how her love quirk made her become really attached and get rejected to near suicidal levels when she was young. I believe the show sets up the question as "In a world with infinite types of Powers, how do you ensure no-one falls through the cracks?" as that's effectively what has happened to every villain we've met so far.

@@Kenjiasamiya it probably would work to lessen her inherent interest in blood as a child, but that aspect of her personality would probably be too set-in as she gets older so even removing the quirk wouldn't change much anymore.
I think the best villain for a spin-off could be Twice, I think a show revolving around someone that duplicate himself before he’s accident would be cool, like going in crime sprees with himself

I love Mr. Compress, he's so underrated. He's such a mysterious showman and I love his demener. I'd love a spinoff show hosted my his awesome presentation and narration
Something important that tge anine left out was that Toga's parents sent her to a Quirk program that forced her to repress her ability and instead act "normal". The repression of her quirk slowly ate away at her over time until it completely shattered her mind. Killing is natural to her because it gives a way for her to drink the blood that she craves to make her feel normal.
It establishes that in a metahuman society, the more unsettling quirks are quite literally pushed under the rug. Instead of trying to teach ithers to manage them they force people to deny a part of who they are. It's part of what the Liberation army of fighting against.
Damn, that kind of hits home for me because it reminds me of how people who have ASD and mental health issues in general usually get taught or are made to repress their natural/normal way of going about life and act "normal" for the sake of other peoples comfort.
Also I know its clearly not the same but i just couldn't help but draw parallels to my own life, which is actually really good writing on the mangakas part to be able to write characters like that.
Bubaigawara, Twice, is my absolute favorite of the league of villains. He is absolutely incredible and goddamn comical. He is justifiably compared to Deadpool, and in regards to his quirk, if he didn't have the mental trauma the prevents him from creating too many clones of himself (since a gang of himself beat him up and he doesn't know if he's the original) then he would be unstoppable. Honestly, a series of him going all out would be actually insane, and in basically every scenario I'd love to have his quirk. Love the man, both of him.
Even through Shigaraki is a main character in MHA, an spin-off of his time with All for One would be sick. I mean, there’s so much we don’t know about like how all for one raised Shigaraki, how he trained him and overall all about those two would be cool to watch.
This reveal from Toga should give you an idea that even the hero students can evolve their quirks. Gets exciting for what's to come.
20:11 I like the detail that Toga's old middle school crush, Saito, looked like Deku, so it shows how she also likely projected that unto Deku as well. Deku does not know how to tie a tie like Saito does. lol
11:58 Yeah, the arc switch with the anime delayed it and unfortunate that *MVA* didn't get as much time dedicated to it episode count wise - since it is a similar length chapter count wise to the joint training arc (and also the training arc had shorter page counts for the chapters, MVA is likely overall longer). So MVA more condensed with cut content and the training arc more stretched out in the anime. lol
I noticed we woulda cared more about shinso if the orders were proper cause we'd have more sympathy for people with "villainous quirks"
@@magortom Well Joint training was still before MVA. They switched the order of Endeavor Agency and MVA.

I think MVA is still going to go on next season.
I predicted this weird pacing this season and a lot of it is explained by regional popularity. In Japan the 1A vs 1B arc was way better received than MVA, and the opposite occurred here in the US.
Oh and the scientist guy has all the tanked nomu, so until the villains beat Gigantomachia they aren't getting any more.
pretty sure the reason for the pacing change was because of they wanted to time things to line up with the Movie.

The previous movies had nothing to do with the seasons. In fact, the first movie happaned after the second season when we were on the third already and the second movie happaned after season 5 when we were on season 4
@@Junior-lc2im I'm guessing it's more on promoting the trio (Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto) with the Endeavor Agency Arc since the promotional material(I've only seen the early ones) for the third movie implied that them three would be the focus of the movie.
@@YukariSF I mean this movie happens during the Endeavor Agency Arc (Unlike the first and second happening between seasons or in the future.) so this movie released during the same arc it's set in for a change.
Untrue. This line of thinking spawned from a rumor that MVA wasn’t liked in Japan which was never substantiated. All that happened was that the volume that contains MVA sold copies SLOWER instead of having an overall less amount of sales.

Chisaki is still alive, he’s just currently armless and in Tartarus Prison. That was his punishment from Shigaraki. Since his quirk seems to only work, if he touched something with his hands.

Obviously Spinner needs the spin off, spin is in his name. Aside from him Gentle and La brava would make a great show post redemption. Last but not least overhaul getting a spin off about his past would be awesome.
For the giveaway: Might be a generic answer but I personally think Shigaraki is the best villain with the most potential
I think Toga would have the best chance at having a spin off based off of her becoming others, as sort of an anti-hero/villain with her complicated backstory. Name of show: Hidden Avenger
Twice definitely deserves a spinoff. I personally feel like he's not "too far gone" and can genuinely be an ally in the future
How about a Gentle criminal side story about him becoming an officially licensed hero with new found internet fame. Showing him try balance the two careers and both of their ups and downs. You get to see the societal struggles of a villain turning into a hero. Also a chance to explore La Brava and their relationship more. Seeing them and their quirks grow would be really interesting. A "Gentle Hero" spin off is what I need!
With regards to Toga, they can have fresh pig blood from slaughterhouse. The parents could have treated blood as a treat like a favorite special juice box.
Indeed. It's like with Shinso and how his quirk was judged as 'villainous' because it's mind control.
Had Toga had an actual upbringing where they found a solution to the bloodthirst she has because of her quirk (that she was born with and had no control over), she could have grown up more mentally stable. And who knows? Maybe even gone to a hero school.
Instead, though, one of the biggest problems in MHA's hero society got in the way. Quirk discrimination, where the nature of one's quirk becomes the barometer for how people in their society judge future heroes and villains (with the latter case often being a self-fulfilling prophecy on their part).
The manga makes it clear that Toga derives sexual pleasure from her quirk, even her parents described her quirk with the word "hentai," as in sexual pervert, that's why they were never able to face it rationally.

Compress could have a really good spin off where he is kind of like a heist master or ring leader of an evil traveling circus where he could go on different heists with different villians while mascerading as a traveling circus magician. It would be cool because some of the other villians would be part of the circus too and some would be ones he met while on road. Maybe even possibly meeting or coming into Contact with other league of villians members along the way. He'd essentially be stealing things of high value and maybe taking on jobs for high paying clients once in a while having his own mysterious motives. Could call it Compress's Crime Circus

Toga needs her series for sure! After watching this episode myself, I would love to see a darker spin off, that starts off with Toga, within the first years that she went to school (with a slice of life vibe and then BAM)before shit hit the fan, then follow her through her downhill spiral. Have it dabble in more of the psychology/fear aspect of non quirk users being exposed to people like Toga, and just document all crazy situations and people she runs into right until she meets with shigaraki. Scenes of her surviving on her own, maybe helping someone in an unintentional way, but doing it in a very evil method.

I like how Toga isn't simply evil for evil sake like Azula but has an actual reason why she is the way she is.
The best villain for a spin-off would be Toga because she has so much back story that was not covered in the anime and she is just something else, we could see how society sees her since her quirk makes her want blood.

I feel like we need more info, more details, about Himiko Toga’s background, so i would like to see a Spin-off Series about Toga,
as for what that series would be called, i have no idea, i really suck at thinking up names, so i am open for suggestions.
By the way, speaking of Spin-off Series, there’s already a certain number of Spin-off Mangas of My Hero Academia, one in particular that expands upon the structure, the world and the lore of My Hero Academia.
A villain with a good spin off would be Shigaraki and AFO. It should show Shigaraki in the future and a spin off of AFO from the past when he had a face and when he found All might for the first time etc
Bro I would LOVE a whole show about Twice & Toga. It would feel like such a classic super hero (villain) show from the 90s or something. Twice's voice actor gives me the same nostalgic feeling from the X-Men and Spiderman cartoons from the 90s. It's really hard to explain. It would just be so fun.
Re-Destro is not Destro’s son but an ancestor, as when Destro was alive, that would be around 150 years ago

A spin off centered around Dabi would be awesome. I'm a manga reader so I know his backstory, and there's a solid amount of time between what he was doing after his backstory and before he joins the League of Villains. I would absolutely love to see what he was up to during that time.
Alternatively, Stain would also be another great spin off. We get a bit of his backstory in MHA Vigilantes, but there's so much more that can be expanded upon.
Twice is best villain, he's just adorable and love how he has good intentions deep down. always smiling when he's on screen.

Yandere is a concept of a character who loves someone so much that she goes psycho and is willing to severely harm others or the object of her affection to keep it for themself. Think Annie Wilkes from "Misery".

A villain spinoff huh? As much as I'd love some insight into the daily life of Johnny, the tiny Nomu, I feel like I'd be subscribed to Gentle's YT channel if it was real. Every episode has a solid 3 act structure: Planning a crime, committing the crime, and then painstakingly editing the footage and chilling while the video uploads
I would love a kurigiri based bar sitcom like cheers. I would call it “dead man’s handle”. Btw, if you haven’t had one and like tequila, I recommend it.

I think twice would be an amazing anti hero. His backstory is the most captivating and I think he's a really humanizing characters. You could do a lot with him and his doubles having multiple personalities.

An ongoing theme of the show is that your personality somehow reflects your quirk.
I feel like Twice is such an interesting character, like not just because he has that Deadpool-like personality. I do love Deadpool but Twice has so much character with how he's going through personal trauma and everything. I feel like a whole story about his life and how he came to become a villain all the way through would be so cool

Best villain spin-off show would be for Overhaul, imo. I would love to see his ideology explored more in depth, especially how he came to the conclusion that quirks are "unclean."
You have now been introduced to a phenomenon that almost no one knows about, a hidden aspect that (most likely) all Quirks share, the aspect, the phenomenon, known as, A Quirk Awakening.
My Villian Academia really energized season 5. I am disappointed that there were so many filler-ish episodes. But I'm glad we know the villians now.
There was 1 besides the mandatory beginning episode of the season. The same amount they had in season 2 and season 3.
@@matthewflorie6652 I just don't feel like too much happened this season. We found out Deku has multiple quirks and that's it for our heroes.
Well their main audience is Japan. The villain arc isn’t as popular as it is in the west. The “1a vs 1b” was received much better than the villain arc in Japan
@@Phillipguy034 the JST (joint training arc) was never really well received even in the manga. At least in the west. MVA should have been before EA arc. I personally love the EA arc. Endeavor being the teacher that they needed etc. I think people over hyped this season because of MVA. Bones definitely could have handled it better. So I understand why some people feel like it is slow. I think once you see season 6 you will understand why it was necessary.
@@ImaBobbyMudda Stop spreading this rumor. That has never been substantiated by anyone ever. All we know is that volumes containing MVA sold copies SLOWER than other volumes for MHA standards but it’s not like it sold a considerably smaller amount of copies overall.
Twice is my favourite character in the entire series. He's so well written, and interesting, and his character arc is perfect. He could have an amazing spin off series, though I'm not sure it would work canonically.
The answer is Spinner. He'd stand the best as a protagonist antihero or villain. W mutant quirk discriminated against driven to villainy tj fin himself and a place he belongs while still deep down being good.

For me, I think a spin off focusing Mr. Compress could be fun. Seeing him during his days as a magician and what lead to him breaking bad would be fun. Also, his personality could make for a more light show, as I think one on Toga or Twice could be a downer.
I wanted to see more of Overhaul and I think a small spin off series or OVA with him would be really fun

I think Vlad King had his quirk nurtured properly since his powers also deal with blood. While Toga got the short end of the stick with parents who tried to suppress who she was. So all the pent up emotion exploded out of her violently
Either Twice of Compress. Twice is probably the most relatable or "grounded" of the members of the League of Villains due to the nature of his quirk and the way his use of it has affected his mental state.
It would also be neat to see what Compress's life was like before joining the League because he has a showman-like presence whenever he is on screen.

Ngl it's weird to think of how different this would have been had we followed the villains the whole time, I seriously think we would hate some of the hero students ya know before we got to this part of the series and we got to see them lol

Best Villian: Slidin' Go. Nobody ever expected Mineta's father to be a bad guy.
The most interesting villain for a spinoff would be Dabi because of his origins, his relationship with his family, his obsession with Stain's ideology and the way his quirk affects him.
Toga's first victim is named Saito. He's not at all related to Midoriya, they just look similar, which, aside from him being covered in blood at the time, is part of why Toga took an interest in Midoriya so quickly.
Saito survived being attacked, he was just badly injured.
The term "Yandere" literally means "love sick", and describes someone so infatuated with someone else that they become obsessive, and willing to get violent with either the object of their affection, or people around them. Not all yandere are school girls, that's just a common use of the trope.
If a villain were to get a spin off I think it should be Spinner or Toga. They both have fighting skills that have nothing to do with their Quirks, so it'd be interesting to see how they learned them.
Obviously her harming people is wrong but part of the problem is she was rejected just because of her natural predisposition to be fascinated by blood based on what her quirk is, in a more open minded and supportive society she could be nurtured and guided in such a way that she could channel her fascination into something more productive.
Probably a bit late for the competition/giveaway but I would LOVE to see a "Twice and Toga" spin-off. They both have very entertaining forms of crazy and the healthiest relationships either of them have are with each other, so would love to see them as stars of their own show together

The villains that were best set up for a spin-off was Gentle and La Brava given that they were told they were getting a second chance in that post-credit scene. They’d be cool going around solving petty crimes and making vlogs 😭
If they do another spinoff series, it should be a prequel story about All For One and his brother. It would be cool to see what the My Hero world looked like back when Quirks were just starting to develop in society.
Gentle Criminal could get a very good spin off show.
I think the best villain to have a spin off show would be twice because off one main reason it would be like having 2 main characters and he would always have 2 things to say
Give me a spin-off of Gentle and La Brava. An alternate story where Gentle didn't fail at his attempts to be a hero and made it into UA, and instead of La Brava seeing his villain videos, she saw him as a hero and was inspired to help him as his sidekick at his Hero Agency.
Therapy would do people a world of good for these folks.

Yea the manga is def a lot more fleshed out for this arc and its a lot more detailed in every sense for each villain recommend you read it after this season ends
Bruh they literally explained last episode that the liberation army is trying to destroy the league of villains as a signal of their return and uprising lol. That’s the entire reason they took Giran hostage and called them there in the first place.
