Shiggy's family all died how exactly they treated him His sister dying with her back turned towards him(Just like how she blamed him and betrayed him..but she was just a kid tho) His grandparents dying while being on the sidelines(They never intervened) His dog dying by his side(that dog was always there for him) His mother dying by reaching out but dying before that(She finally stood up for him against his father but it was too late) His father dying by Shiggy killing him(Self explanatory)
The most messed up part of that scene was that his family members turning gray (like stones) before crumbling is just censorship. In reality, he just saw them fall into pieces in their natural state.
but his quirk literally turns people gray before they are decayed... like objects just get destroyed but for creatures with life they always turn to grey before they are gone
@@thetruesquad5059thats anime censorship, in the manga people just crumble away, also due tobthe quirk newly manifesting his wuirk decayed his family into large chunks rather then dust particles, thats also a reason
I believe his itching is just an anxious tick. People try to say it's proof he was born bad and wants to kill everyone but he says it's worse at home (where his trauma is) and if I was loaded up on adrenaline, hatred and fear my itching would stop too from being too overwhelmed by my bodies responses
Agreed I start itching when I am nervous or under strong emotions too lol Tenko gets anxious whenever he is at home because of the abuse and starts itching. Frustration causes him to itch
His quirck is the reason for his itch, I don’t think people understand Shigaraki quirk so much, his quirk is called Decay, so the itch probably because of skin cells getting some form of decay, similarly his hair turned whiter and whiter because of his quirk and the cells that control the growth of his hair
@@kriegnes It’s just seems like it since his hair started decaying at the exact same moment his hand started decaying and his power got amplified.. I think this is the same reason why Toya’s hair got white was because his hair cells got burned up.. And Dabi said his tears gland have been burned up that why he can’t cry, so him knowing about glands and everything it doesn’t seem farfetched
Horikoshi has said that he's always wanted to go darker with MHA, even as far back as the training camp arc. And this episode/arc is basically the culmination of that desire. The anime typically does a form of censorship with Shigaraki's quirk. Back in S1, we saw that he decayed Aizawa's elbow until he reached muscle. But every instance after, it was less of a breakdown and more of turning to stone and crumbling. This episode still had a bit of the stone aspect but it also captured the horror of the manga by still showing the chunks. I think it's really tragic how things turned out. Nana knew that AFO was likely going to take her out. So she hid her son away in an attempt to keep her family safe. But because she vanished without a trace and very little explanation, Kotaro didn't understand. Not to mention, he was a child. So he grew up with that regret and sadness until it eventually became hate. But instead of dealing with his emotions, he bottled it up and took it out on his children. In the manga, we actually see him hit Tenko so hard that he physically falls over. And then he hits him again. So, bit of anime Censorship. Tenko wanted to be a hero. But his dad rejected him, and his family didn't exactly help. They just told him not to cry. And when they finally did step up, it was too late. The house was destroyed, family and all. He says the itch went away. We see Tenko itch after this incident however. So I wonder if the itch is his quirk quite literally begging him to destroy something he doesn't like. Or if it's more of an anxiety thing. Where he starts itching whenever he's uncomfortable. Either way, Nana's attempt to protect her family from AFO actually ended up pushing them right into his hands. The act of good ended up creating the successor to the Ultimate Evil.
@@kriegnes Considering that most of your recent comments are you complaining about things or trolling, I'm not going to take this very obvious bait. But thank you. Have a great day
The way it was brutally shown with blood and body parts when the dog died.. well in the manga it was always like that when Shiggy killed someone.. In the anime..they usually censor it by turning them into dust
Someone pointed out that Kotaru is what Kota Izumi could’ve grown up to be like because of his disdain for heroes. Deku was able to save him, but no one was able to do that for Nana’s son
I think His quirks always been bloody in the manga I think they did it more here to show the horror of what happened or it's because he didn't know how to use it yet
This and his later speeches in the war arc made him pretty much the best new generation villain in anime. Litch from Black Clover was good but nowhere near as flushed out as shiggy. And other new gen villains aren't even close in terms of character development.
It’s certainly something how fucked up the death of the Shimura family went with some flesh and ponds of blood showing up, and even it is more gruesome looking in the manga. Still a really decent adaptation of that moment.
Shigaraki is my favorite character. He believes himself to be a alternative hero in a way. Don't agree with the killings but he's right with how we believe their society needs to change
His quirck is the reason for his itch, I don’t think people understand Shigaraki quirk so much, his quirk is called Decay, so the itch probably because of skin cells getting some form of decay, similarly his hair turned whiter and whiter because of his quirk and the cells that control the growth of his hair
I understand Kotaro Shimura's trauma at being abandoned by his mother, but at the same time while he was too young to understand the danger of being around his mother, he shouldn't have become a cruel, abusive father who takes out his anger on his family while trying to force his own views on his family. So basically Kotaro Shimura was also in the wrong. Also in a way Kotaro Shimura's treatment of Tomura Shigaraki is part of what led to Tomura being used and manipulated later on by a certain villain.
the anime always kinda cenored his quirk compared to the manga , but not in this episode lol since it was important to shocase the trauma it caused him
The quirk might also express differently depending on nurture/environment. They've touched on how some people discover what their quirk really does after training it, so under different circumstances, maybe Shigaraki's quirk wouldn't have expressed itself so violently...
A lot of people seem to hate on the sister for snitching to their father but I will say the sister never seemed to WANT to hurt her brother. She was a victim of their father just like he was and was scared. Makes it even sadder.
the saddest part about this is that mon, his dog, the only good thing is his life was the first one to die. till the end, mon died comforting him, and stayed by his side.
I don't doubt this was pointed out a few times already, but there was quite a bit of censorship on display here. For instance, Shigaraki using his decay with just two fingers? In the manga, Re-Destro had literally _ripped out_ his other 3 fingers beforehand. His family's deaths in the flashback? Here's a little hint: They didn't turn into stone in the manga.... yeah. 😨
Wow. You two really tried your best to hold it together during this reaction, I admire that, but I hope you both got a good cry after. I remember reading this in the manga and it left an impression but seeing it fully animated triggered some core memories that left me in shambles for a good few days after the episode aired.
fyi.. uncensored decay works the way it did with his dog. it cracks the body and just breaks them into those meat chunks. they dont actually turn grey and shatter like paper like in the anime
Also its weird because the sisters hands look like grown ass adult hands 😅 But i guess it would be extra morbid to have Shigaraki walking around with a cut off childs hand on his arm. OR maybe theyre fakes. idk.
quirks are weird i already know it's proven but I think the way quirks work is that it's a manifestation of what you desire as a child, which forms lil off set quirks/mannerisms to handle your desire. As you give in to said desires you express yourself in a way that as we've seen isn't exactly welcomed. As you grow older and train your said quirk it evolves/branches off to fulfill your next set desire. ex. Shigi felt like he wanted to destroy his home, he got the power to do so, his power evolved now he leaves no traces just ash. Toga wanted to be like people, only via blood was that achievable for her, bc how can you be someone if not on the biological level too, her power evolved so that she could not only take on the physical aspects but also quirk variable.
Btw Shigaraki's quirk always breaks things down like in this episode. That's how it was in the manga, but up until now the anime censored it a lot. Even now it's still somewhat censored. But in truth, he doesn't turn people into dust, he breaks down their flesh into pieces. But, that's really gruesome to animate, hence the grey cracking style.
This so sad a kid shouldn't have to go through this he's 5 years old I think the main problem is with this society they try to normalize a lot of things when people are different individuals but you bring in a quirk your judge base on that
Yuki Hayashi always has some spectacular music every season. Same thing for Haikyuu. New music or a fresh rendition of existing music. Always amazing stuff. One of my favorites composers!
Now I think overhaul was right these powers just unfair some got great powers some got bad power decay want you itching and solution of itching just decay something. If overhaul quirk delete bullets inject to Tenko rather than lemillion then he didn't get this quirk and toga others never be criminals
The parallel between Shigaraki and Deku makes me sadder. He was a quirkless late bloomer who dreamed of being a hero, but couldn't. Unlike Deku, his powers came in, destroying his life. And he was taken in by a villain, who set him on the wrong path, meanwhile Deku met All Might. They were both two kids with dreams of helping others, but life took them down such drastically different paths.
Damn, I'll never be able to look at Tenko/Tomura the same again, his backstory was one of the saddest things I've seen. It explains a lot about his character.
We really need to stop throwing around words like "abuse" so flippantly. Shigaraki wasn't abused. He just had a slightly strict dad. "Don't talk about heros" isn't abuse. Spanking a kid for snooping in off limits drawers is not abuse. Shigaraki was always going to be a psychopath. His father didn't cause that.
Shiggy's family all died how exactly they treated him

Shigaraki's broken hand is anime censorship. In the manga Re-destro tore half his fingers off.
IIRC Same with the blood when everyone dies from his ability. It's supposed to be like that all the time, but the anime censored it for the most part.
I was wondering why he suddenly had missing fingers later on.
The main anime actually somewhat censors what his ability actually does to people which is why you haven't seen the blood and chunks until now

This is the episode that solidified Shigaraki as a villain, man has every reason to hate the world.

The heroes REALLY have their work cut out for them right now.
Neglect is a form of abuse. So Nana leaving her child behind, regardless of her intention, can be considered abuse too
Or personalities are affected by a person's quirk. The relationship might be more of a correlation as opposed to a causation.
