I took a chance and brought one when it was launched, having had it for just over 2 weeks now, its a bit of a beast, I have printed lots of pla, petg, and have more then 138 hours of printing abs. It has been fantastic ! For the price of it I really don't think you can go wrong, and just to let others know I have more that 16 machines now and 7 years of printing experience, and I feel like this is a good machine, its not perfect, but no machine is.
@@David-ty6my I own Bambu machines and the Q1P, and since I print mainly ABS, there’s just no comparison. It heats up so fast and maintains high temperatures, absolutely no warping. As someone who uses Klipper mainly, Q1P is a lot easier to work with, with Bambu printers you have to accept all the software annoyances. Yes, the print quality on the Q1P is not as good, even at 4000 perimeter accels you can still see ghosting, I think I’ll have to do something about the belts, but other than that, I absolutely love this machine. It costs a lot less than the A1 and barely more than the A1m before the price drop. I know the Q1P costs more in other places, but yeah, it’s still really competitive. You’re probably buying this machine for its high temp capabilities, and Bambus just can’t even compare. If you print other materials, ehh… the quality is definitely worse, if you’re just a 3D printing enjoyer, and has way more budget, then maybe the Bambus. But if you like working with Klipper (you don’t have to for this machine, it’s an “option”), or if you do high temps (ABS is a lot more hassle free compared to say PLA, and the material just has better performance) then you can seriously consider this machine. Also the customer service for Qidi is unparalleled, a lot more enjoyable than Bambu. The build quality isn’t far off that of Bambus, and finally yeah, it’s all about the price point and the unique feature. The chamber heater is absolutely not a gimmick, it just makes printing ABS so quick and easy, preheats in like 10 minutes, an enclosure and a bed can not compare. Also, I will personally rank the Q1P higher in terms of software and user experience, mainly because I’m more comfortable around Klipper, and I like customizations. The web interface is also better than all the Bambu annoyance. So yeah, other than the print quality, which probably? maybe? can be fixed, everything is a win for Q1P in my opinion.
@@David-ty6my None, but I don’t need it, and I believe most don’t. For simple layer change filament changes, or some embedded text with 2 or 3 layers, swapping by hand is totally viable, and good enough for occasional use (other than you’ll be sitting around the printer for a few minutes, it’s not as hard as it looks, as Prusa Slicer has the single extruder multimaterial system, which automatically purges, unloads and loads the filament, you can do a swap in like 10 seconds). Yes, it’s a downside, but Bambu’s enclosed printer’s AMS unit costs more than the Q1P in certain regions, which is just a plastic case and 4 filament drives. How’s that? It can’t do everything sure, but it’s hard to ignore the price point. Also, Klipper will allow you to add your own multi material system, if you need that on a budget.
been waiting for this machine to be reviewed by you, even tho there some channels who reviewed this. i recently tried to print abrasive materials and i love it!! i think i would buy this rather than the p1s combo. thanks a lot Aurora!!!!
Great review and great printer. I have a bit over 400hrs on mine so far and it's been great. For filament changing I do a cold pull and then load the new filament. No issues with clogging in the extruder There are leveling knobs next to the load cells. You have to loosen the jam nut before turning the knob.
She's not joking about those unloading jams. My X Max 3 gets them very often, and it's always melted filament on top of the heat brake. It needs tighter integration to stop leakage.

Very nice and thorough review, which I found very useful. Great amount of details, and superb comparison between similar choices. The CoreXY enclosed 3D-printer market is becoming heavily saturated, and especially from June, the competition will be fierce. We already have BambuLab's offers with the cartesian A1 becoming available in May, and Creality ironed out most of their kinks in the K1 with the K1C, which is already available now. Sovol SV08 is coming the same time as this QiDi Q1 Pro - for Europe where I live, that's early June - and many others are already on the market or on the way to market. One small note: You deserve a better microphone with better recording software, as your current microphone has weird glitches, which at times makes it sound like autotune was applied by someone who was drunk. The metallic sound which comes at times, reveals that it's due to low bitrate between the wireless mic and its receiver - but maybe that's due to signal interference. In any case, you deserve something better sounding and better performing. Keep up the good work!
Excellent review as always! I hope the other youtubers in the space are taking notes, because your video format is so information dense, and your ranking site is awesome. The only critique i could possibly come up with is your audio sounds a little poppy. You might have your mic gain up too high. If you did that to combat background noise, you might want to try lowering your gain and running your vocal track through Auphonic (I use this for talking head videos and it does amazing audio cleanup and volume normalization. Does a really good job of getting rid of peak noises that blow out the levels. Also the link for Eryone filament goes to a 404
Software kinks aside, for printing mainly ABS/ASA would you recommend the Q1 Pro or the K1C? Is the active heated chamber that much better to pick it over the K1C? Does the Q1P have any belt tension issues / is it hard to adjust them? Great review as always!
Lens hood are supposed to be shaped like your negative or sensor so I bet that if you make it square and matching your focal length it will not appear in the viewfinder
Is there a reason you still haven't awarded the Q1 Pro the best enclosed 3D printer in its class? The Price has remained low and they have made physical and software improvements including a new print bed alignment that has 2 stops. This printer is much better than the K1C from everything I've seen.
I'm still tossing up so many options in my head. I dunno.... I'm seriously considering that flashforge because the quickswap head looks soooooo easy. Either the Flashforge Pro or a P1S I guess.
Looks like a good addition printer to handle the higher temperature filaments that need a heated chamber. I didn't have a garage though so I'd have to place this in a living room area. Perhaps a really good air purifier strategically placed outside the unit near the exhaust would work?
I've read somewhere that qidi shared a file for a print that allows you to mount a filter behind the exhaust fan. Haven't verified it but even if it's not the case it's probably easy to make on your own
Rumors are strong that Qidi has an AMS in the works. For me, the higher temperatures functionality won out over multi-filament, and I'm waiting on my Q1 Pro now.
My only concern would be the readily availability of parts. Great that the printer prints well out of the box, but how difficult is it to diagnose issues and find parts to fix those issues. This is where Banbulab's current ecosystem and support network excel at the moment.
they have replacement parts on their website. reasonably priced too. but shipping is too expensive. Their ebay store has the same price with cheaper shipping
Been thinking about buying this for a month now but even with input shaping, the resonance around text stands out like a sore thumb. I wonder if further software updates will modify this.
Great review - as of 5/30/24, the Qidi Q1 Pro is not on your website! cant find it. I thought I could check how it compares to the K1C and Bambu X1Carbon. Did they fix the Chinese issue? I cant read Chinese, how am I supposed to set it up? Can I get a 0.6 or 0.8 nozzle for this printer?
21:00 - I disagree greatly; having heated filament backing up into your ptfe and other parts is bad and causes jams/clogs and sticks to everything as it backs out. I have 14 printers (Anycubic, Bambu, and Qidi), none of my Qidi Tech printers jam or clog like Anycubic (and some times Bambu) do. I hope Qidi Tech never changes this.
Hi for a total beginner do you recommend Q1 Pro or K1? I think those 2 printer only for future printer of ABS, ASA or carbon filament. I'm interested of an high level of 3d print

I find it odd that they list the print volume on the Amazon listing only in inches. While I am American, my brain does 3D printers in metric. I am pretty sure this is true for everyone. I had to convert their inches to mm just to see how it compared to a Bambu printer for print area. Same with temp. They say "140F." I have no idea what that means in terms of 3D printer temp.

hi aurora tech , can you recommend me the best 3d printer for beginners? I have a desire to buy creality sermoon v1 pro, but I want a 3d printer that has an auto leveling sensor and some other functions that can make it easier for me
After my experience with the Artillery Sidewinder X4 Pro I think a reviewer needs to live with the printer for at least a week or longer. Maybe the machine has problems that don't rear their ugly head until after at least a week. My X4 Pro started having layer shift problems around that time. Then today my fan shroud broke.
1. They sorted iirc 2. Do you usually stick your fingers in appliances? Same thing with toasters etc and you can easily print a denser grate. Total non issue
@@riba2233 i use stuff like tweezers and pliers to collect dirt and failed parts from my printer quite often. The issue is that when the printer is connected to power there will always 230v on this device, in America I could just turn the plug and it would be fine because there is only voltage on it in one position in Europe its always. If there would be only voltage on it when the heater is turned on i would be fine but since its always its an issue for me. And i know how tired i am when i work with my printer from time to time and i know that i would be able to hit the printer bed into the heater
@@riba2233 the wallplug fix works only on 110v but not on 230v European, if they fixed it by using a different heater then its definitely an option even the the new sovol one is also really interesting
@@gackhuhn4868 they could use a double pole switch. With regular schucko plug you can turn it around, and if you are from france or Switzerland plug should be wired core and there shouldn't be line voltage on the heater
If you need a capable fully enclosed 3D printer and have some experience with 3D printing, you will love the Q1 Pro, the screen UI and app issues won't be that big of a deal. If you are a complete beginner, the A1 would be easier to start with.
It astounds me that nobody knows how to use a wrench, they include one in the kit. To adjust the bed, that's what the knobs are for. Some people 3D print their knobs. Other people use wrenches. Sometimes it's hard to see what's directly in front of you literally.
It IS cheap, selling for 310USD in China. Also, you’re getting quite much for the price. The plastic shell does look cheap, but it doesn’t affect its function at all. The structure is still all steel.
I have the Max3 and yes the injection molded plastic parts and the user interface seem a little cheap and unpolished. But the performance and print quality is great. The fundamental structure of the printer and the print head are quite good. It’s not “cheap all around”, it’s only cheap on the parts that don’t really matter.
@@jerrymk6846Hey good to see you again! I don't really understand why people are concerned with printer looks when performance per dollar should be the most important metric. That's just me though.

I want a printer with engineering grade materials capability and I'm considering the Bambu lab X1, but this one is at half price, It's too good to be true?
The Bamnu looks a bit better quality product (using better materials) Do you consider this a possible alternative to the X1? thanks
If you don't need multiple colors or multiple filaments, this one offers greater value than the X1.
I just updated my firmware to 4.4.19 .and my ABL probed 8 x 8 or 64 points. Is this now the norm?
Will you be reviewing the Sovol SV-08?
Coming next
hi aurora tech , can you recommend me the best 3d printer for beginners? I have a desire to buy creality sermoon v1 pro, but I want a 3d printer that has an auto leveling sensor and some other functions that can make it easier for me
Hey Amir, check the site. There is a recommendation and compare site there. I would recommend a Bambulab A1 of a1 mini
What do you use to prep your bed? I noticed some of the prints used glue or something.
Just glue stick
@@AuroraTech thank you!
SV08 review?
After my experience with the Artillery Sidewinder X4 Pro I think a reviewer needs to live with the printer for at least a week or longer. Maybe the machine has problems that don't rear their ugly head until after at least a week. My X4 Pro started having layer shift problems around that time. Then today my fan shroud broke.
I really like the heater but with the live voltage on the heater its a big no for me
1. They sorted iirc
@@gackhuhn4868 there won't be voltage present when not heating, they either solved it or you just need to turn the wall plug by 180deg
Surprised no "con" about the flimsy spool holder.
Qidi couldn't have engineered build plate stops for the bed? Come on, man.
New Q1s have them, mine do and many of the ones after this video released.
The printer is broken when taken out of the box.
It takes a lot of health for it to function properly.
So a good competitor to the creality k1c ?
Yes, for $469 and a firmware update that fixes the screen UI issues, it would be the best value fully enclosed printer.
@@AuroraTech will you also recommend the q1 pro on your website in the top 10 list? and if not why not?
@@landerhoolsteensShe answers that in the video.
Decent review (as always), but what is up with the voice cracks? It often sounds like the voice-over was run through an AI voice model.
Yeah the robo voice was rather odd and off putting.
They need to figure out how to make their plastic parts look nicer.
If it's che-dee wouldn't it be the chu 1? JK 😂
QiDi Q1 Pro or A1 ?
If you need a capable fully enclosed 3D printer and have some experience with 3D printing, you will love the Q1 Pro, the screen UI and app issues won't be that big of a deal. If you are a complete beginner, the A1 would be easier to start with.

It astounds me that nobody knows how to use a wrench, they include one in the kit. To adjust the bed, that's what the knobs are for. Some people 3D print their knobs. Other people use wrenches. Sometimes it's hard to see what's directly in front of you literally.
This review is stupid as expected

Maybe a good capable printer, but looks cheap all around
Who cares what the printer looks like if it works?
