This was a cool project... but seriously Mr. Tolman, we want to see the work... We KNOW what YOU look like... and while it was nice to hear that wonderful engine... I would would have preferred to see the work... the process.... the vehicle itself, you know? Looking forward to the other projects you have in your pipeline. If it saves you any time to set up a camera to do time lapse... and then sort of walk us through what you did to it while the time lapse is playing out - maybe slow it down to tell us about anything that was tricky or difficult. Those seem to work out best in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this with us.
This project detail was at a very high level. There was some detail on building the exhaust but most here have seen exhaust builds ad infinitum. Just too many irons in the fire IMO. Running a business especially an auto shop and doing videos with its production something has to give, right? Perhaps future videos will be more in depth.
Dude, this is a mostly stock LS swap. There are 5828395957272 videos on UA-cam about this. LT is running a shop and trying to finish a project that took far longer than planned. We get to see his more important stuff, this would have been boring, by comparison.
OK Fine. Bring on the "more important stuff" How about finishing one project instead of bouncing around on 3 or 4. let's see we have the C-10, the ugly truck, the Frankenstein Truck and I'm sure there are 1 or 2 more in the mix. Adderall anyone! One nice thing about UA-cam one can "Move On".
@@Danno74Z then move the hell on. You clearly don't understand how this all works, so go start your own channel and show us all how easy it is. I have years of experience as a custom car builder and outside of things like this which are glorified bolt-ons, proper builds take time, especially when they get interrupted by mundane day-to-day shit and parts set-backs. Often times I'd spend 2-3 hours of an 8 hour shift on a long-term project and then the rest of the day cranking out busy work. If LT is getting that much time as he's also the shop owner, I would be shocked.
Oh, no no no no no, LT! You definitely need some REAL Texas BBQ. If Rudy's is impressing you, then you've for sure been greatly deprived of GOOD barbecue.
We had a 81 Grand Wagoneer with the 401 when I was growing up. They bought it used. It only had 40,000 miles, or so. Man, what a beautiful truck. I think you can legitimately say it was the original American luxury SUV. Nothing else really can’t close from the American market. You have to go to the range, rover or land cruiser to get equivalent, comfort, and quality
That is a sweet ride! I have an old bronco I wish ford had a LS line of engines a LS3 would be perfect in an old bronco but that jeep is sweet! Great episode! Nothing more awesome than being in the shop working on your project while it’s storming outside!
Nice work! Glad to know someone else appreciates Rudy’s. It’s one of my favorites. Not the fanciest barbecue but certainly one of the most consistent. I love their smoked Turkey sandwich and their breakfast Tacos.
This is awesome-it sounds amazing. You do amazing work. It just makes me want to send you my Red Tide-inspired LS-swapped Grand Wagoneer to pull together.
I was at Sebring International raceway when you guys got all that snow last week. Our Race Engineer lives there and was telling us all about it. Great Content, Keep it up
Yeah, they're called shop cloggers. If the shop is running slow all they have to do is take on one of these projects and they will have more business than they can handle😂
I don't know if it was AMC, or government issue. The paint code on the firewall just comes back as "custom." It was originally an Army Corps of Engineers Jeep in Texas, and I even made a FOIA request trying to track down more info. The staff were cool, but couldn't give me any data on paint colors, so I just had a color match done on the cleanest piece I could pull out of the engine bay. I dig it, and after body work I think I'll repaint the whole truck that color.
@rebturtle well then buddy, today might be your lucky day! I happen to work for the Army Corps, and on an older (yet still operational) platform. Our records go back into the mid 1960's at my duty station. We have never been without at least one government body-carrier permanently assigned to us. I'll ask around.
Miss the videos of all your fantastic fab work! And the exhaust note… it’s kinda boring. It’s got that old-car metallic noise. Would have been nice if it was a bit more routy. Not louder thou. Or maby it’s the microphone. Nice to see the new haircut! 💪🏻
Glad to see the Jeep Wagoneer all done and nice work on it!! I did see your video on the exhaust that you built for it and it looked amazing!! Thanks LT for a great video and lookin forward to seeing what you put into the AWD S-10!
Rudy's BBQ? That BBQ joint here in Tucson AZ sucks! I get some "propane/gas aftertaste" sometimes when I eat their brisquet. But I heard every Rudy's joint everywhere is different in the country. The one in El Paso is good.
Myb1979 saburban is at Kelly's 4x4 in Alaska. He's putting in an 2003 8.1 with cam upgrade new heads with upgraded lifter. Had to use 1974 headers to work with the ms 465 transmission in it.
I am currently doing LS 5.3 swap in c10. I would love to do a turbo at some point but idk enough about turbos to do that at this point. Please cover some detail on the upcoming vid about turbo install. Oil line location, turbo clocking and location, manifold types… things like that. Plenty of turbo vids but none (that I found) are detailed. Thanks and nice video
Do you know the rear end ratio? Also, did you check for full wide open throttle? The travel on the pedal governor is pretty limited on these wags and mine will only achieve about 2/3 open with the pedal to the floor. I'm going to lengthen the travel on mine towards the resting position to be able to get full wide open throttle. Like you said, there is a ton of things to check and adjust on these at the end of the project. I'll be swapping out my 3:31 rear end to a 4:10 to get better torque and make it even more drivable. Well done build and videography!
Wow super cool. I am doing the same thing with Jeep J-10. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME PICS OF THE FRONT SUSPENTION! I would benefit from a picture. And how the engine integrated with the front axle pumpkin. Ford Dana's????
LT, could you give your honest input on that Flowmaster muffler you put on the Wagoneer? I have a 5.3 suburban that is our family/roadtrip vehicle and I want to upgrade the muffler. I don't want the dreaded interior drone issues associated with some mufflers and was hoping to hear more of your thoughts on the muffler in this video. Thank you in advance.
I wish you would have done my 5.3 L33 with a Tremec TKX into an 5 lug Tacoma. The engine & trans are installed correctly but the WIRING IS A DISASTER‼ I paid over $1175 for a custom wiring harness and the installer screwed it all up. Plus the installer must have put the pickup tube O-ring in dry⁉ Because the oil pressure is anywhere between 60 to 9 lbs. I’ve had the valves rattle a few times and talk about getting your attention, boy it does when you hear that‼ It’s in another shop that the engine builder recommended. Lesson learned….
Love it, but the motor, I know it wasn’t your choice though. It’s sacrilege to put anything but a Jeep or at most a Hemi motor in it! Great work though.
If you had my vehicle in your shop I would rather for you to take your time and get it right versus slapping it together and sliding it out the door. I do not think that the owner is upset. He definitely will not be when he mashes the throttle.
Hey I saw a video of yours that you posted three years ago about a supercharged 1997 Chevy. do you know what kind of supercharger it was? I have the same truck as that one but I can’t find any supercharger anywhere. If you can, please get back to me I would really appreciate it.
Shaved head LT rocks
Agreed, now put a power rack and a bench in the shop
Glad to see the Wagoneer finished! Side note: glad you embraced a more appropriate hair cut. 😁

Dood love the new look!!! I had to embrace that like 20yrs ago!! The Waggoner is coming along…hell yeah!!
I have always liked the look of the old wagoneers and now with the LS it has plenty of power. And you are right Rudy's is a good place to eat.

Man I always wanted a jeep j10 stepside 4x4 such cool rigs, with a cammed 6.0L
Rudy's is great. Had it many times in Chandler. Surprised there is a BBQ shop across the street after all these years as competition.
The wagoneer sounds great! Happy to see it on a test drive, looks like it's going to be a fun vehicle. Great work!
That Wagoneer sounds awesome. Hopefully you can show it when the customer gets it done completely.

LT finally excepted the baldness.. we could be twins now.
I miss Colorado Springs....Was stationed there for 4 years.
Nice to see the Jeep is finished! It’s come a long way.
My wife loves the Grand Wagoneer with the wood grain! If you watch any Stephen King movies they always have one in every movie!
If you ever want to do an LS swap on a 84 F150, that original and rust free, holler at me bud. Great work!
I am absolutely diggin' that original AMC color code on that engine cover. Excellent choice👌

163 👍's up LT thank you for sharing 🤗
LT the Jeep looks amazing! Attention to details is the key to setting off a good build
The is one nice ride . The only thing i would've done was add more cam ....love a choppy LS
That thing sounds good
I wish you'd do a LS swapped Porsche 911....they're awesome cars and combine with a fantastic LS ....they're a potent combo.
That's super cool can't wait to see what's next
I bet the owner didn't like ot sitting around the shop lol but I'm glad I got to see it a little that u put it on the channel

Nice to see the new haircut! 💪🏻
I wish you were local. I'm at the same spot on my LS swap. Just needs the wiring/TERMINATOR X max wired up.
Great vehicle build. Now on to the 2nd gen cyclone xtreme!!😊
Glad to see the Jeep Wagoneer all done and nice work on it!! I did see your video on the exhaust that you built for it and it looked amazing!! Thanks LT for a great video and lookin forward to seeing what you put into the AWD S-10!
