She’s running great and making some fun noises even though I can’t really get on it yet. Once break in is over and she is tuned, I’ll put her through the paces!
@@innsanewayne Best part is I’m not done spending money on this damn truck😅 Still have flex fuel to go. Then I’ll be done, for a while at least. Thank you, sir!
Like you said LT, turning wrenches is one thing but when you get to express your creativity on a custom build it makes it all worthwhile because well it's fun and what's the point of working so hard if it ain't fun right!
That is a tight squeeze on that drain pipe. I hate doing exhaust but I enjoy doing everything else on a build. That exhaust has a very nice tone to it.
Nice work on this truck and your exhaust builds are always great!! Chris did an excellent job of trimming that grille and everything fits nicely behind it!! Great video you guys and can't wait to see some more!!
You know you just LOVE TIG welding when instead of just making a new gasket, with a smaller hole in the center, you instead do a bunch of TIG welding, then machining to get the drain back to flat again... hey LT, you need a MILLING machine now as you could have milled that gasket surface flat in just a minute or so... and you would have one more machine to use instead of making a new gasket! I'm just ribbing you man.. I'm just like you.. I would always rather weld and machine a part then take the simple way out.
so let me be sure i've got this exactly right... you would rather weld and machine a part, and THEN take the simple way out which seems your fix must not have worked and you do what you were going to do first? Just giving ya crap ; )
@@eldonblack5976 You talking to me, or LT? If me, I have a BUNCH of machining equipment-specifically 3 different lathes, 1 milling machine, a big (Industrial size) TIG machine, and also MIG set up. If I'm in a rush and faced the situation he did in that video-I would have just made a gasket with smaller bolt holes where the bolts pass through, and also a smaller hole in the middle, leaving more gasket material to seal it up. But, if not in a rush, I enjoy using all of my equipment and would have definitely welded it up and then milled it flat. So, I guess I could or would do either, or both, depending on time available.

@LawrenceTolman my favorite videos of yours are when you build exhausts. The attention to detail that you put towards the exhausts (and the rest of the build of course) is extremely satisfying. One of my goals is to have you do an exhaustion for my truck 😅 Keep up the great work! -Jonathan
Every time I watch one of your videos, it reminds me of how badly I want to get a tig and teach myself to do it. I do decent with my Lincoln mig, but there are just some things it cannot do.
Just a thought that has been going around in my mind for a future build idea, not even sure if its possible. But, I've been bouncing around the idea of a duramax (maybe lbz) awd build. Maybe starting with a gasser awd denali or something and swapping a duramax in or even starting with an obs and swapping all the drivetrain to a duramax with a 6 speed or allison trans and awd transfer case, like I said though dont know if an awd transfer case could hold diesel torque numbers.
I never knew how creative I could get on making exhaust, until I did it on an ‘06 1500HD Chevy I had. I also feel the need to line up the seams on exhaust pipe 😅
Very beautiful! Really enjoy watching tig welding, makes me want to learn. I’ve got an aluminum 5.3 turbo that seems to put off more heat than the iron 6.0 that I previously had. Anyone have any knowledge on this?
LT chopped it enough to where it does not touch when the truck is on the ground and the weight is on the springs. That was all the first time it was on the channel.
💥💥💥 Everything looks great. EXCEPT that polished stainless shroud over the radiator. It's clean looking, but the extreme shine clashes with everything else under the hood in my opinion. Something textured, coating wise would flow a lot better. A matte black powder, flat black powder, or SLIGHT wrinkle finish would blend well. Black anodized would be perfect, but that's very pricey. But excellent fab work as always Brother!
I don’t know why you don’t. Hire someone to run the shop so you can go full UA-cam you would blow up and make way more money? I no you have OCD and you have to micromanage everything, but if you don’t let somebody else help you you can only do so much!
Good job overall, I would like the exhaust out from under the vehicle to get rid of the drone sound but that's just personal preference after years of different vehicles similar.
When I was 19 I worked with a plumber that had a 57 Chevy he made his exhaust from 2 and a half copper pipe and fittings don't know what he sealed it with but it had a unique sound, don't remember what mufflers he had.
LT how hard would it be to swap from a 4.3 motor to a v8 setup? Would it jut require a pcm swap or a whole wiring harness swap? I’m looking for a 4wd to try the awd swap you have done. The copo truck is what I have in mind.
My friend wants to build a 8100 and put it in a 66 Chevelle he's going to use your build plans for your truck at the beginning before you went full-on drag man
Was the drone at 2-2,500 rpm? I had three factory mufflers removed on a 2010 Lincoln MKZ 3.5 awd and it drones at that rpm under a decent load. Factory resonator and a replacement Walker( by a previous owner)resonator still on.
I've got a 2001 single cab Silverado with the 4.3 v6. The truck has 260,000 miles on it. I would love to do a LS swap on it but I'm thinking about just rebuilding the v6 and adding a procharger to it. What would be your recommendations on this build? It is my daily driver.
Hello, awesome work and I have a few questions please to hopefully help with my build. What year is the truck? On Huron they recommend the thinner intercooler and was wondering if you were trimming the grille to fit a bigger one. Also, where can i get one of those overflow reservoirs?
Truck is a 2000. The 99-02 trucks require a bit of trimming if you have the radiator, condenser, transmission cooler, and 3” intercooler sandwiched together. When Huron says the thinner intercooler I’d imagine they are referring to a 3” as opposed to a 4” intercooler, which 03+ and HD guys can usually get away with and have very little to no trimming due to those body styles having more room up front. Even with the 3”, if you are a bubble eye 99-02 truck, you will likely have to trim a bit to get it all sandwiched up front. If you mount the transmission cooler cooler elsewhere you may not have to cut, but that brings problems of it’s own like getting enough airflow to the transcooler and having to put it in less than ideal places functionally speaking or aesthetically speaking. The catch can coolant triple tank is a TrueFocusFab piece. They have a website and are on instagram.
I hope that the switch plates and receptacle plates in your house have the screw heads all pointing the same way, and the hangings on the wall are all level. I can’t have mine any other way. if they are not I hope I didn’t plant a seed.
Great project. Excellent craftsmanship But LT, my man, that OCD is costing you a ton of money because there is no way you are charging the customer to chop off that downturn and butt weld the pipes together.

Nothing like the 5.3 turbo , it’s the junkyard special to the 10’s. Good times!
