You are missing out man. There are SOOOO many REALLY great options that change it drastically and so much easier. I thought the same things, "nah I don't need the app" well, I found out quickly I did. I would at least try and find a friend that can let you try it out for a few minutes and get used to it. I guarantee you it's a whole nother world of tones. And it's way easier than this. This is more for people who have no choice. Not people who choose not to try it out. I'm sure you're more open minded than that tho.
So I followed your instructions exactly and have tried many other patches by you and others. My katana always sounds fuzzy and bad. Why? I've tried various things.
Gonna return mine, I mean, all those knobs and only one tone sounds OK for metal, and it's a tone I don't like. Just like my MT2. And it freaks out if I change any setting on a patch and sets all my metallica patches to default settings, have to restart my pc to get back the original patch settings...
Juca you have been the go to KATANA source for me since 2018. I have a question for you... Do you think your studio monitors sound MUCH better than the amp speaker itself? Ive noticed some of your tones will sound amazing (like this one using just the USB). So, are you listening to the amp speaker as well as the studio speakers? Lastly, whats your take on this so-called "speaker break-in"? Cheers from the US. EDIT: I am seeing that your power selector is set to off. Should I invest in some decent monitors? You also record with mics too so obviously you enjoy the speaker output too..
Hey, thanks! No, they are totally different speakers. The amp sounds like an amp should. The studio speakers are just to monitor and then to mix and master. USB on the Katana sounds good but needs lots of tweaking to make it sound real. I'm listening just to the amp. When tracking for myself or making patches I do use headphones just so I can place my SM57 in the best spot on the amp. I would need a separate room just to listen to the sound coming from the speakers. It's set to 0,5 Watts. Yes, decent monitors are a great investment. Nowadays there's many like my Yamaha HS7 that are not expensive. Cheers
@@rance6149 yes. if the preset is at 5 - 5 - 5 and your eq is at 10 - 10 - 10, the amp will use 5 - 5 - 5 if you have the preset selected, until you touch the knobs at which point only that specific knobs value will change.
It started sounding thin and shitty when you increased the mids and got worse and worse. The Katana needs patches to give it more bottom. It's a great amp but that's what it's lacking.
Wtf I struggle to even get tones similar to this even on a 50w MKii, Honestly getting pissed with it not having access to Tone studio either at the moment.

Love just use the panel episodes, its a decent tone that keeps us newbies motivated. I havnt owned a pc for ten years so no tone studio here.
Great!!! Cheers :)

You're a freaking treasure trove of Katana goodness, Juca! Thanks! I'll be trying this out tonight!
Thanks man :) Enjoy :)
I don't even play metal, but honestly your tone is amazing.
Nice tutorials, you are one of the reasons that got me into buying the Katana 100/112 MK2.
This video helped me get a great metal tone quick and easy! Thanks \m/
Thanks 🙏🏻

There's hundreds of tones that sound great. The MT2 is a very controversial pedal.
Great tone Juca, which tuning for the guitar were you in for this video?
Thanks mate, regular tuning and drop D and I did tune the low E String to B. Cheers
Awesome video. Thanks.
Thanks :)
Good stuff, obrigado! 👍
Классный хруст!
If we could see the Panel from right above the Panel it would help us a bunch Please ???
By the time it was done it had to do with gear limitations.
thanks man.
You're welcome :)
Now just add Agufish modded Hello Kitty Strat and get to it :) !! LOL
;)
I can't decide between the 50W and the 100W Katana. I need it as a bedroom practice amp and to mess around with patches and different sounds.
100. Same volume for practice and much more options. Cheers
If your metal dude, 100
Coz u can use noise gate in fx loop without tone studio...
that guitar is sexy af
It is! Cheers

Hi there, im hard stuck choosing between a 1x12 and 2x12, would you say im lower volumes the 2x12 sounds any better tone wise than the single speaker?
The 2x12 doesn’t sound better just wider at higher volumes. Cheers
I had the mkl and now the mkll. I think the mkl sounds way better. I regret getting rid of it.
Why do you say that? The core tone is essentially the same.
I think the speaker is different.
@@bigkid757 It's the same :)
Great video! Also is that a schecter I see in the corner?
Yeeeessss!!!!!!
Thanks :)
Do i really need a noise gate in this???, i dont wanna use the noise suppresor in studio coz ill bring my laptop always...
you can save the presets so you dont need the pc after you save the settings
why not let us see the panel?
But that's exactly what I'm showing... Is it not?
Why do you use a tube screamer in front of the amp instead of the overdrives in the amp?
It's the one from the amp man. It's in front because of the tone studio signal chain. Cheers
Is it the green light ?@@JucaNeryGuitar
@@matt79hz Can't recall now.
Dude, does the eq and channell use if i use the saved preset in the panels???
Hi, didn't understand your question.
@@JucaNeryGuitar if i uss the saved preset, does the eq use it and the different channells??

Mk1 100 or 50?

Sería todo un detalle que fixeras de vez en cando algún video ainda que solo fora en portugués Pra que poidesemos entender algo mais

the katana speaker will not give you that tone on lower volumes, try to hook up the rect out/line out to a headphone or audio monitors.
