Man I cannot say thank you enough. As someone new to guitar playing I had no idea about amp settings and was severely struggling to get a good sound from my amp. I also had this really loud hissing static soundthat drove me nuts and wouldn't go away no matter how much I turned up the noise gate. I had no idea that the EQ was so important in developing your sound. Your explanation using the visual representation of your sound extremely easy for me to understand how the cute works and now I have an absolutely blistering thick modern heavy metal tone that literally had my friends dropping their jaws. Thank you so much for taking the time out to make this video. I went from wanting to sit on my equipment on fire to writing some of the best music I've ever written.

The only thing is though, I tried to do it on my Boss katana 50 mkII but I only had Channel A and B. In channel B there was an Echo crunch preset that I did the mods on and then saved it as Modern metal. Do you think that may be the reason why it sounds so flat? I did make sure to reset all knobs to zero before starting though.
I have a lot of different "Modern Metal" patches I've made that are a bit more dialed in, especially if you are interested in specific genres of metal. I don’t know if it’s that because I don’t have my Katana yet but could it be that you listen to the audio coming from the amp itself? Because if yes, it could be due to the open back I think because that can make one lose many of the low frequencies.

Is a Katana 50 MkII connected to my scarlett 2i4 (same sound with USB) Tested with 3 guitars (the recording is with active EMG81...) No issues at all in PC with emulation like Bias FX

Not a good tone on speakers maybe recording but yeah gotta make ones that sound good live
Question: why do the high notes sound SO loud but my rythm sounds quiet??? it's kinda annoying lol
That's our perception :)
Hello Juca, I think my katana 50 is defective.
This is the sound I get with all base settings (all off and volume 50, bass 50, mid50, treble 50 and gain raised to 80)
Terrible sound, some cracking and feels like a low input signal amplified (no punch, terrible mutes, etc)

I'm doing something wrong?
Is a Katana 50 MkII connected to my scarlett 2i4 (same sound with USB)
Tested with 3 guitars (the recording is with active EMG81...)
No issues at all in PC with emulation like Bias FX
Dude, you need lower gain. That's too much. When you put too much gain it starts getting fuzzy.
Lower the gain and make a compensation on the booster. It will be better.
Very nice video 👍..thanks..!
Thanks man :)
can i use the sneaky amps Core Metal with those settings?
Hi, I don't use the sneaky amps. But you can use them of course. Cheers
Hey Juca..When i go into edit;...it doesnt ever give me the "write" options....only !clear"? what am i doing wrong?
I have a mk1 katana 50
Nice work!
Thanks :)
@@JucaNeryGuitar I want to buy 50 mk2 for usb recording. Do you reccomend usb recording or use dynamic microphone? I just want to get kind a peavey 6505 sound from brown channel I guess sound is very similar.
Better a microphone. But via usb and if you process the tone on your daw after recording you can get great tones.
How come your tone is automatically super gainy whereas mine isnt when on brown with a tubescreamer?
That's weird...
@@JucaNeryGuitar ah dont worry man, my mistake i had my tubescreamer effect level low
@@maxjudge020 lol! Great man :) Cheers
Hey Yuca what's up brother! man Im having the hardest time trying to dial in my Katana , I plugged into Tone Central and there is not much to chose from, maybe I just dont know what Im doing (most likely), is there a way to get more patches or effects besides those ones in tone central, it only shows like 6 different artists with a set set of patches, Any help anyone ?? Thanks!!
Hi there, have you checked my website yet? Let me know. Cheers
my issue is the feedback from using some of the effects like metalzone. loud errrrrrrrrrrrr buz noise even whenn im recording.
Do you have the noise supressor engaged?
mins is just coming out in a clean setting, not the best, using emgs 81/89 my passic pickups seem to take better to this amp
Totally my case, I have an Epiphone Dot that sounds amazing in this amp (just with the factory settings, no tone central) and also an Epi Explorer with Emg 81/85 that sounds inferior IMHO, I even thought that the Emgs were fake lol
What are your actual settings set at on your amp?
They are exactly what you see in the video. Cheers
is the patch mkii only?
The patch yes. But the tone tutorial applies to the MKI as well. Cheers
*Attention Boss Katana MK1 and MKII owners*
Life just got a shit load easier when it comes to hooking your amp up to the internet..you can now use your Android or iPhone to access all the options and more and you don't have to lug your amp to a PC or lug a laptop around..3 simple things are required 1) an android or iPhone old or new versions 2) one OTG ["on the go"] cable and a USB cable 3)a compatible app from the playstore..I use 'Katana Librarian'..and b4 you just pass this info up or call bullshit please look into it because your missing out on extra options that you can only get by using the phone and app connection..trust me..I don't work for playstore nor do I even give a shit about them..you will get this and thank me later..watch and see..your welcome
The only app I see if for the katana air? I looked up katana librarian and got nothing.
@@stephenbarton2625 It comes right up for me (OG Google Pixel).
The app is awesome, but it’s only available for Android.
If only Boss didn't have use the ancient goddamn printer usb port.
Sounds epic
Thanks :)
I've just bought the Boss Katana 50 mkll. I see that there are 6 liveset patches in Tone Central, which I'm not interested in.
I would love the Rock Legends Livesets but it doesn't seem possible to load them. bosstonecentral.com/liveset/category/katana/
Is it because they are for the previous Katana model and not for the new one? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Can you advise?
Peter Smith Hi, most patches for the first generation, arent avaible yet for MK2 . I think they will be soon avaible for MK2.
@@karolybendeguzbok4119 Thanks for clearing that up. I'll wait patiently.
I don't believe this is currently working with the boss katana 50 it says "Import Failed"!
That's normal because this patch is for the MKII. Cheers
@@JucaNeryGuitar Silly me
Have you tried floorboard fx it's custom software for the boss katanga mk1 & 2 that gives you a lot more options to play with
Are you Brazilian bro?
Português :)
@@JucaNeryGuitar teu trabalho é ótimo. Comprei minha katana hoje... esperando chegar. Abraço
@@DimiiRoXObrigado! Abraço :)
How can we download this patch?
It's in the video description. Cheers
STANDART TUNING?
Yes :)
great !!!
Thanks man :) Cheers
Is the Mk1 50 a raging piece of shit compared to the mk2 100? My mk50 sounds like a pile of shit compared to what your amp sounds like here after if dialed it the same way(after I did a factory reset too).
It's not bad, but the 100 has a different voice. Cheers
i tried this an i got a really muffled tone -_-
What’s the guitar and pickups?
@@JucaNeryGuitar schecter sls c1 elite. Fishman fluence pickups. Also i just reinstalled boss katana studio cuz it malfunctioned yesterday. Maybe something is still going wrong idk 🤷🏿♂️
@@jeffreyquinonez8964 Weird... I have my Epiphone Explorer with Fishman Fluence and come to think, it might need a different approach. Maybe I'll do a video for it soon. But should sound heavy.
@@JucaNeryGuitar ok cool 👍 ill try reinstalling again too ill see how it turns out
My metal tone is better than yours. It's beastly like Sabbath.
Good 👍
