My friend I graduated in '85 ...these were epic songs and times, but just think Van Halen was massive, The Cars were so smooth, Run DMC was breaking barriers, and we had just been blessed with The Sugar Hill Gang, Midnight Star, and Michael was tearing it up!!!!.... My life is nearing it's end, and though some would bitch and complain, I lived through the best of times in recent history...find peace, God has it for all of us...❤
Great post Belle, yes it was a Awesome Decade to have lived through. Be sure to get a Brown Scapular for yourself. The Blessed Virgin wants everyone to be in Heaven. Give yourself this undeniable sacred gift from Jesus's mother. No one who does in this clothe will suffer damnation. That's Awesome. Not saying you are a bad person, just want you to have this gift from Heaven. It can only help, not hurt. Look it up and read about it, not long. But the gift is eternal.👍.
@@belleerion6549Hey fellow GenXer I graduated in 86 and my life is at the cusp of rebirth as I prep for a my 2nd and true purpose in life. I hope you are well and live another 50yrs.
I grew up listening to this song in grade 12 and the song "Sister Christian" was really like the next stage of life for me as I grew up in a small southern Saskatchewan rural farming town of 2500. Went off to Kelsey in Saskatoon and did two years of automotive mechanics and then to Calgary where I worked as a machinist and parts person at Canadian Tire. After that, I went to university and got my B.Ed degree and then my Master degree in Education, followed by a my permanent certification as a teacher. This song always brings back so many high school memories since back in 1986 I was just a stupid teenager growing up in the middle of no-where and now today I am an Elementary / High School teacher with a Masters in ESL I came a long long ways since high school so Sister Christian by Night Ranger has really special meaning to myself.... I do really miss my high school classmates b/c every classmate that attended kindergarten with me, moved through the public school system as single cohesive group for 13 years. That means all +50 of us stayed together from kindergarten all through school till the end of grade 12 where after high school in 1986, everyone went their separate ways. I really loved those years growing up back in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan!
The closest we can get back to the 80’s is the MUSIC. Kids today will never understand this great era, and man it was f’ng GREAT. Had this on cassette blaring it on a huge Panasonic Boombox in the culdesac playing kickball with all of my friends in the summer, weekend lake & beach trips, even trips to the arcade. Miss those simpler, fun times and memories…..it sucks growing up, but I’m happy in life at 53.

Class of 85 here. This song brings such a range of emotions to me. Happiness because times were much more simple and life was good. Then a sense of sadness and broken heart because I had to make a hard decision and let my forever girl go. I had been pouring my life into her and I was still her fallback second choice. In the end, I won and found my forever girl now of 34 years. The good lord knows what is best for us. The 80s were the best time in life to be a teenager. Hands down.
@@barryhessel6078to simplify it, at the time I was kind of her best friend and her fall back boyfriend when something fell through with another relationship. I couldn't keep pouring myself into her. I ended finding my current wife and she tried talking me out of marrying my current wife. She knows now what she missed out on. We still keep in close contact as friends but that in itself is very dangerous. Sad but happy situation. I believe God knows best for us 😊
when drug lords and mafias and corruption and extacy and cocain ruled the streets and ruined lives ? ( *NO* ) I'VE NEVER BEEN INTO A DARN PARTY PUB SUUUUUUUURE the music we're awesome. WHO !! in the world has the money for that kind'a surgery just to remove something that can make you a vegetable someday
I am 48. This song was at the top of the charts when I was going into middle school. I remember cars driving down the street, windows down blaring this song along with others popular during that time (there was alot of ICONIC songs from era). The 80's were a beautiful time. I bought this tape with my own money. I had a walkman, and I would ride my bike and sing this song riding to meet up with my friends at the arcade. Then we would meet up in "Dead Mans Woods" to smoke, cigarettes and weed. We'd pass the walkman around or put 2 heads in the headset (always good with the girl you liked) and jam while getting stoned. My first vehicle I bought with cash, a 71' Chevy truck short bed. Power steering would stick some times but it would haul ass. First song I played in my truck through many events and it was played at my wedding in 1998. I miss music like this. Im not one of those old folks that bags on todays music. This song along with others from that era are timeless.
@J LA my cousin was 89’. He had a bad ass record collection and lived it. Man he hated tapes. He kinda jumped into CD’s later. Damn that was still a while back
Nothing better than the 80’s, I tell ya. Rampant homophobia, and racism, the AIDS epidemic, the Cold War, the space shuttle Challenger disaster, the Wall Street crash, the Iran-Iraq war, police corruption, and the war on drugs. Damn I miss the 80s..

It's sad (almost) not to see a GTA Vice Vity nostalgia comment.. ANYWAY, this song just made cry of nostalgia because it reminds me the old good days when I was just coming back home from school, turn on the PlayStation, starting GTA Vice City and tune up to Radio Emotion 98.3.. good old days!
In the 80's I would lie in bed, listening to my Sony Walkman thinking how great the future was going to be, now, it IS the future, and all I want is to go back to 1982!
I was in high-school in the 80's. What I loved most about it ...Everyday was like Halloween, The fashion and the hair was over the top!!! We had New-wavers, Heavy-metalers, Stoners, Punkers, Princers, MJers,, Gothers, Madonnas, Boy Georgers, Breakdancers..etc... and I loved the music of all those groups!Thank God I was able to experience the 80's! These were only a few things that made the 80's fun and unique!
Boy does this tune bring back some solid shagging memories with my wife, back then we were a force to be reckoned with, we do it behind restaurants, schools, colleges, small businesses and this is before I had my 1965 Ford Galaxie, she is so sweet, and I'm not talking about the car..... if you know what I mean....... so very sweet

I am from Yonkers NY and I graduated High School in 1982. I then entered the United States Marine Corps and after boot camp at Parris Island and MOS training at Fort Bliss, my first duty station was in Cherry Point North Carolina. I remember this song coming out just before I received my orders to Okinawa Japan. I didn't live in the Barracks, I lived in a trailer park in Havelock. I recall standing in my tiny yard grilling burgers and dogs on a little Hibachi with my car stereo and my new Jensen speakers blasting the first time I heard this song. It was Spring after an unusually cold winter for the area. I was 19. I will never cease to marvel at the "Magic Power" of music to allow us to relive an entire era of our lives with just a few notes.
I never liked school dances much and stopped going to them, and to high school in general. Before college, I didn't do much with the girls that I met in school. I didn't like the whole fishbowl effect, where everybody is watching and talking about everything you do. I sought out my female companionship beyond the Platonic in places outside of school. But I think it would be much more difficult to do that now. Although, if I knew then what I know now, I could have had more fun during my time in high school, fishbowl or not.
@yo I was about 17 in 1980. I had fun too, but I was also had to deal during that decade dealing with my drug addition, a failing marriage, housing instability and falling grades in college. Once I got into recovery and got my pwn apartment, things got better, but I still lived in a really, really scary and violent slum for a couple of years until I moved tho the less scary slum where I still live.
We do know. I'm intensely envious of your generation. What a time the 70's-90's must have been to really experience. You guys had one of the best periods in human history to be alive and enjoy. Growing up in the early 2000's to present day, what a bleak future we have. Cherish your great memories.
Faded neon paints a worn-out sigh, Eighties echoes in a lonely eye. Chrome and leather, a bygone dream, Muscle purring, a teenage team. Guitars screamed, a fist-pumped vow, Young love's whisper, a stolen vow. Golden days, a hazy sheen, Where everything felt brand new, pristine. Now silence hums, a dusty shelf, Memories dance, a ghost of myself.
Ditto Most of the songs in my son's Spotify account are from before he was born. He'll watch old UA-cam videos of concerts and tell me how lucky I was to grow up with all that great music!
This video is a work of art. It lives up to the song. At the end when the nuns are waving goodbye and the car peels off down the road into the cool, early summer night...Perfect
Oh my god. Memories of me burning the midnight oil for my exams in the 80s and this song came up on the radio.... Calmed my nerves and soothed my soul. What a song. Thank you Night Ranger. ❤
What? Are you serious 😅@Dwightfairfield. 80's so much better! You say that because you dont knew them... 90's = dance, techno, internet, social network, etc, in short the beginning of the end and all shit
The 80's was and still are the BEST!!!! SO GLAD LIVED IN THOSE YEARS!! WE HAD THE BEST OF EVERYTHING NO OTHER DECADE CAN EVEN COME CLOSE!! WE HAD FAMILY TIMES, GREAT FRIENDS AND MOST OF ALL RESPECT!!!
How did we have family times? Mom was under intense pressure to work outside the home, followed by coming home to do housework because it was still regarded as housework. That meant she was too tired to do family things.
I was born January 22,1961 . So I have heard lots of thought provoking music. I have lost a lot of good friends to sickness or disease . And my dad died February 2006. These songs snap me out of my sadness. To persevere for hope to see them again .

The 80s were the greatest. Hell I'm 55 now. Friday nights after football games I'd come home shower and watch Miami Vice I had recorded on vcr. Those were the days.

Absolutely the best time to have grown up. I miss the 80s so much!
My life right now may be pitiful, but I was blessed to have grown up in the 80's. This song brings me joy and sadness because time cannot be rewound and these were indeed great times.

Hang tough when going get rough!
Me grew up in Saskatchewan also now live in Edmonton
Who else is going through their favorite jams thinking about life back in the days? Please tell me I'm not the only one✌🏼️
Brings back some great memories doesn't it? Long live the 80's.

Hands down.
Almost right, Class of 77, everything else is spot on!

@@barryhessel6078to simplify it, at the time I was kind of her best friend and her fall back boyfriend when something fell through with another relationship. I couldn't keep pouring myself into her.

Makes me remember the high school dances once in a lifetime experience. If only the younger generation knew. A beautiful time to be alive

@@amjoshuaf Maybe, or maybe she holds out for marriage, it's not spelled out completely as we don't know what happens later that night.

John Waite - Missing You
i think its sweet how its written for the drummers sister
Yes, her name is Christy but the band kept saying Christian. It stuck and now it's a timeless classic!
i was un aware of this thanks or the info
Brian Trout You're welcome.
I wrote a song about you.
The drummer is also the lead singer.

Amanda Marconi 😉👍
If I had a do-over in life...I would love to start over in the 80’s...no worries,..just a good time...Listening to these songs makes me very sad....If I could only change a few things...I would be in a better place.
Just those few things. Life would be so different. ❤
Kelley's voice was so beautiful and clear in this original video in 1985! I give him and the group much credit for still touring and spreading joy!
They say that 1 song can bring back a Million memories, this is one of those songs ❤
My father took me to see this band .
Dad can hear this now when ever wants heaven is nice these days I know because my father's there .
❤
Such a 80's iconic song, brings back memories of being a teenager, on a summer day in the 80's!!!!
@1:32 What a view of home. Some of weren't just luck enough to grow up in the 80s but to do so in Marin. It was normal to see legends like Huey Lewis and Jerry Garcia at the grocery store. This song means more to me than it did then, and I love that view more than ever.
bring back the 80s , and with them the musicians like these who can perform musical instruments well.
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss the 80's dearly, this country was awesome back then, it's slowly dying now from PC/sjw/liberal fairy nonsense.
There are new bands/acts that still perform with actual musical instruments
Born in 93,
I wish i could have experienced this era.
Get a time machine my friend you'll be ok yes
Wow, we always will keep "motoring" for our sweet and unpredictable Christian sister. Stay safe everyone!
Back in the 80s there was hope and optimism and it was a great time to be alive......now there is doom and gloom and the end is coming that is what progress gets us:(
The 80s was and always will be the best decade ever, especially from 80 to 84!!!
you got that right 👊

My father passed last year, i cant help but keep playing his songs over and over. They keep his memory alive for me.
1984... Great year!! No surprise that recent Netflix shows are using the musical greatness of that era. I am fortunate to have been there in the 80’s when masterpieces like this one were gracing the local radio stations... yes FM radio. Keep it real, keep it rocking.
Saw Night Ranger Live in 2004 in Canton Ohio for the Pro Football HOF Festival. It was free. No seats, everyone stood. Parents brought their kids. There were strollers. We all stood and sang every song together. Was the greatest concert I ever attended. This band is soooooo good.
This is my favorite comment here. 🥰
❤
Life on this planet will never like this again. Greatly missed
❤
My 20's were the 80's and I had no idea how lucky I was.
I just turned 60. I lived my 20s through the 80s. Your words speak mine exactly! From 71 through 91 my life was defined by FUN!!! How lucky I was living those amazing times! Such amazing music!
We were all kinda libertarian liberal/conservative mixed just having good times! What happened??? Suddenly there's lefties forcing everything all catawampus today... & suddenly I'm a 60year old white supremacist toxic male nazi... Huhhhhhhhh??? WHATTTTTTTT???
Oh well - whatever - I'm still having fun listening to music like this so I'll enjoy smiling while the all the victim youngsters throw temper tantrums at each other today.
Yep - you & I were lucky beyond our ever knowing it having lived our 20s in the 80s!!!
Peace! -J.
I lit the decade on fire and enjoyed every second....I miss that decade so much.
I'm 59 but I heard this song at a crucial period in my life (and hardly ever again) and it has always stuck with me.
I wish I could do the 80's again!!!!!!
@@4catbillies rap music and then liberals ruined it all...
