I have always loved meat. I’m a landscaper and I need muscle and strength. But I also love vegetables and fruit. I went vegan, juicing, etc. for six months straight once and it was pretty incredible. I went from about 165 to about 125(5’6” tall). I had incredible energy and felt great, but I lacked muscle and strength. I am,( or was), a carboholic. I love pizza, bread, pasta, potatoes, beer, wine, etc. But I’m 53 years old now, I’ve gained weight(180lbs now), developed joint pain in my feet(toes), struggle with depression(especially when I binge on carbs), and even started to develop some plaque psoriasis on my shin. Anyway, I just went pure carnivore cold turkey a week ago. I almost instantly(overnight) started feeling better. My inflammation(and pain) in my toes has subsided drastically. I have so much energy now. My depression is gone. The small patch of red, flaky, itchy psoriasis on my shin is starting to disappear. My face, shin, hair all look better. I am extremely focused and driven all of a sudden. And I haven’t experienced any negative reactions. I am enjoying the meat and fat I am eating, excited about satiating myself with ribeye, salmon, king crab legs, smoked sardines and herring, ground beef, chicken wings, liver, etc. I’ve given up sweetener(honey and stevia) in my coffee, and I don’t even miss it. My grocery shopping stress and cooking have gotten so much simpler. I know it’s still early on this carnivore diet, and I don’t see myself abstaining from the other foods I love foerever, but I am excited to see where this diet gets me in re-setting my body. Anyway, thank you steak and butter gal, along with so many others like dr. Chaffe, Ken berry, etc. for putting out this information that our wonderful “healthcare” system would never tell us. God bless.❤

@@EB-wl9st wonderful! Good luck!❤️. I’m still experiencing so many benefits…I’m still working out the kinks, but I’m a believer! I even think this saved my dog’s life. I have a sixteen year old cairn terrier who has had an enlarged heart for some years now and has been taking enalapril for it. It has helped with her dry coughing spells and she has done fairly well with it. But just recently (the past two-three weeks), she’s been having fainting spells when she gets a little excited or exerts herself. Well, this carnivore diet has led me to do lots of research, and I have determined that it’s the garbage, dry kibble that has caused her heart problem and is trying to kill her. Forty percent carbohydrates!😮. And dogs are true carnivores! Anyway, I immediately took her off kibble, and started feeding her a raw carnivore diet…she is doing 100% better! Almost instantly! I am super convinced and grateful to be learning about this and determined to continue on the path to better health. So good luck to you again! Stick with it, and I believe you will see miracles!😊🐕‍🦺🙏

I've been eating more meat and less veggies. Today I brought home flanken steaks, rib eye steaks, ground beef, cheese, Fairlife Milk (twice the protein and half the sugar of regular milk), eggs, and yogurt. Carnivore is also a keto diet. I was also keto before carnivore. I would recommend keto still because people need to find out what their body does when you eliminate carbs and use fat/ketones as your main energy source! Going carnivore had more benefits: eliminating vegetables made my diverticulitis go away and upping my protein to at least 1 gram protein per pound of body weight has my body recomping into something I am loving! My appetite control is superb which allows me to do various forms of fasting. My skin is younger and smoother when I look in the mirror. I also feel and sleep great. All thanks to my staple foods: beef, eggs, beef bone broth, butter, lard/bacon grease.

I have never been a big meat eater, and I have been eating the standard American diet for most of my life. I am glad to hear that I need to wean myself off of certain things rather than jumping 100% into this so that it lasts me for a long time. I am at about 420 lbs. and disabled due to an autoimmune disease, as well as restrictive airway disease, fatty liver disease, and low mobility. I'm new to carnivore, and your videos have helped educate me immensely. I'm coming from a lower carb diet and am easing myself into carnivore. That seems like the best way after I heard you speak about oxylate dumping, and I've been eating lots of nuts for what I thought was a "healthy" snack and to supplement my packed lunches at work. I'm really glad to hear you say it's ok for me to ease my way into carnivore like that, because in all the Dr. Berry videos I've seen so far he is advising a strict full illumination diet from day one for 90 days. I'm trusting my instincts that a slower approach would be better for me, and it's very helpful to hear someone with your experience say, hey, that's ok, too.

Reducing the heat if your maxing it out can help to reduce splatter. Drain grease as it collects rather than leaving it in the pan. Bake (with a lid) vs pan fry... cooking bacon in oven works beautifully though can take longer. Be careful of water content...bacon sometimes collects water before the first flip and I can get a face full of splatter when I turn over the bacon in the frying pan.
I switched to a cast iron pan instead of non-stick pan and stopped adding butter before cooking beef or pork and it helped immensely.
Still gonna get splatter...just have to wipe it / dish soap it up as you go.

I was actually fine on my first month just jumping into it, but I did change up what meat I was eating. Like if I felt aversion to beef I ate some other animal. I found seafood was very helpful whenever I didn't want red meat. My problem was social eating, cause relatives made oxalate heavy foods that would give me different symptoms instantly and by going straight to carnivore my body became even more sensitive to it. RN im just mostly carnivore

I really appreciate the way you broke this all down, it sounds much more doable when you stop one and slide into the other with ease… We tried the carnivore and were miserable… The way you explained it makes so much sense! Some are coming from the Standard American Diet (SAD) (the acronym is interesting $ and appropriate) and some came from keto, but approached it all wrong. This helps to move forward and do this right.

    Another excellent video.
    I went full carnivore
on April 1st, 20023 After about a 15 day weaning period. During that time. I had mild diarrhea only 3 times (Not 3 days), and a headache once or twice, whereas I used to have headaches commonly.
Even though I had such a mild transition compared to most people who got the "keto flu", I fully agree with your recommendation for people to do a 30 day weaning period.

I've been 100% carnivore for almost 2 years and the transition was rough (wish I had more info about it when I started). It took about 90 days for my body to truly accept the diet, but I stuck to it and post 90 days I started experiencing significant benefits. The benefits continued all the way to the 1 year mark and it's been smooth sailing for me since. I love this diet, it eliminates all of the digestive issues, allergies, chronic inflammation, pain, and skin issues that I had for decades. I wouldn't give it up for anything.

@@user-kp8gn9jk2q The first few weeks will be rough, especially if you aren't fat adapted coming from a keto diet. One of the things I struggled with was understanding how much fat my body needed to replace the carbs. Make sure you're eating fatty cuts of meat. You can also supplement with butter and cheese to help during the transition period. Assuming you can stick to the diet you should start feeling some improvement after the first 30 days and by the 60 day mark you'll start to feel great. Keep at it, it gets better. And stay away from the carbs and any non-carnivore food during the first few months (cheese being an exception). If you do supplement with cheese to help ease the transition period, I would cut that out after you start feeling better and focus on red meat as your primary source of calories. 80/20 ground beef is your friend. Great for an easy meal. Make sure you're eating till you are completely full regardless of how much food that is.

I went back and forth between constipation and diarrhea. I also really struggled daily with staying on carnivore because I just couldn’t bear the thought of eating one more bite of meat. There were many days where I just couldn’t eat at all and many days where I couldn’t bring myself to eat until around 3 pm. I really love meat! The problem is, when you grow up really really poor you become accustomed to eating meals that have meat hidden them so that food stretches farther. So for me it was extremely challenging trying to eat entire steaks or chew on heavy servings of meat everyday. Growing up, most of our diet consisted of my mother having to put meat in various casseroles so that our food would stretch. It was a very very rare occasion that we ever had steak. I believe this is why I have had such an extremely difficult time adjusting to the carnivore diet. I just never grew up diving into a piece of meat with a knife and fork. The textures are so different to anything I’ve ever been used to. Rice, bread and pasta have such lush textures that surround whatever protein you’re having so eating has always been such a pleasurable experience. Once I was confronted with the very different experience of only consuming meat at every meal each day, the adjustment to the textures proved to be more than I could tolerate. Eating became an absolute drudgery to the point that I dreaded eating so much that I kept delaying meals or I would refrain from eating altogether until I finally grew very weak and collapsed at my friends home. I tried to force myself to push through all the exhaustive tedium of endless chewing, hoping my palate would eventually adjust to this new lifestyle but then I would find myself literally crying through my entire meal. After a month and a half of feeling so at odds with this choice and after collapsing at my friend’s home I decided to finally give up on the diet. Never before have I felt so psychologically challenged and defeated by a life sustaining activity as I did when I was on that diet. The aversion to food was just the tip of the iceberg. My hair became dull and lifeless and I developed dandruff which I’ve never had before. My skin began to get extremely dry and flaky, I could not go to the bathroom for two weeks at a time only to be followed by extreme stomach upset to the point that I simply could not stop going. My ankles began to swell inexplicably. I had a headache for four weeks that simply would never go away. My joints felt like a fiery inferno and it felt as if the pain would pierce straight down to the very core of my marrow. I just didn’t want to give up but I finally threw in the towel. That was a year ago. I feel so beaten. So utterly and completely defeated by food. I know with absolute certainty this lifestyle works. If it were not for the extremely kind and caring people in the carnivore community, I would have thought I was absolutely losing my mind but thankfully many took the time to reassure me that I was not alone and they too had experienced most or all of the exact same reactions. I want to start again. I know it’s possible to survive and thrive the acclimation period. This channel has been an immeasurable source of hope information and encouragement. You all have my respect and admiration. I can’t thank everyone here enough for showing up and for being so willing to help and support others who are struggling. I’m just so in awe of this community. .etc

being 60 and loosing well over 100 lbs 5'11' back to my weight of my 20s and 30s at 178 lbs and maintained that for last 3 years
    4 years total being carnivore
if I eat chicken or pork I feel off and I can't do eggs :) never liked veggies and no desire to do anything else so strict carnivore works for me as I know some others strict or lion works for them :)
never bored :) never crave other foods ;) and feel insane good and not just for my age :)
I do think we need to experiment with foods for each of us find what works what makes us happy and for some that is strict for some that is the variety and having some veggies and fruits work for them and they are happy
for others chicken and pork and eggs and spices and coffee works
for sure no ONE way to do this :) its individual for each one of us
I do think its worth doing lion for 3 months and then bring back in foods just so you know and felt that and as you bring back in things decide what stays or goes :)

Your vids are often more interesting than the science-heavy ones! I enjoy them and have learned a lot.
I came to carnivore from a very different eating history: not a fan of salads/veg, I ate SOME because I had been told that was healthy, but I never ate a plant-based diet. I was really happy to learn reasons why I hated broccoli and Brussels sprouts!
Instead of diarrhea, strict carnivore gives me constipation-not infrequent movements, hard ones that build up and are painful to pass. TMI, I know. And I have enjoyed raw dairy since 2008 and nothing would induce me to give it up.
So I also have prunes and a few other fruits in moderation. I don’t eat as much cheese as I used to, because I would eat it cut small in lentil soup (green/brown, red, and golden). Since I have given up the starchy legumes, I don’t need much cheese. But the whole raw milk was almost a meat substitute for me for years, and I built biceps on milk protein! And it’s so delicious! I could get butter and heavy cream from my farm coop, but to me they taste and smell too strong and gamy, so I buy the best available butter and heavy whipping cream locally-there’s one brand that is not ultrapasteurized!
Adding butter to my boiled eggs is something my Mom used to do when I was a child, and I really enjoy it.
I rely on lamb chops, shanks, and ground lamb a lot. I’m not a big fan of fish; I might have it occasionally in a fish restaurant. The sardines are languishing in a cupboard, since I can’t eat WASA rye sourdough crispbread with them anymore!
    Thanks for being there!
