    I have an over the shoulder addition to my Harness, as I wear it because with all the gear on the harness and chainsaw, the Harness rubs on your hips, and it rides down. Holds your harness up, and comfortable to wear. Now that is an awesome addition to an harness, just to add to your array of devices..
    You are so generous with your knowledge, have a great New Year.

    Merry Christmas. Thanks for doing this!! As a guy who’s newer and still getting gear it’s nice to see someone trying to help us save a bit of coin.

      Merry Christmas buddy, you are the target audience. It’s sad to see so many new climber buying gear that they will soon realize is the cheaper, sub standard stuff once they learn a little. Glad this video is helpful for you 😁

    As brazillian and new guy in the industry I must say I wont have access to most of the gear shown here, but the camelbak as chest harness got me hard! Cheap, useful and practical, thats the kind of gear that I like

    best things ive climbed with for years that i never see and it such a worksaver. i use it on most climbs with rigging. is the stein extenable rope grabber. saves so much reaching and repositing to get ropes/things

    Hey there! Quick question about the VT 3 final wraps - should the ones that cross intercalate like the top one should go underneath first, and then come back on top again? I've noticed that a lot of guys don’t seem to do it that way. Thanks!

    • @ClimbingArborist
      @ClimbingArborist  20 днів тому +2

      The beauty with friction hitches like the VT, you can make variations of them by adding wraps, removing wraps, changing the pattern of overs and unders. Each change will slightly change the way it responds and how it works with different ropes and length of cordage

    Great vid and dedication as alwasy. Im looking forward to the A.R.T. blackbird device in 2025. Very curious about this device. The other mechanical devices have all had lots of limitations. Interested to see if ART can overcome these problems.

    Nice rundown. Where do you attach your handsaw? Why do you use the art snake instead of your climbing rope? Thanks from Western NC USA

    • @ClimbingArborist
      @ClimbingArborist  18 днів тому

      Handsaw to the left side of harness. Snake anchor is a nice piece of kit to add, but certainly not a necessity.

      @@ClimbingArborist i use it as a friction saver. With all those eyes + carabiner its like an adjustable friction saver with a ring prusik. I think you also showed this in one of your videos.

  • @Daniel08353
    @Daniel08353 21 день тому

    My first carabiners were the Rock Exotica red D, and the RockO. I’m not fond of the lack of textile grip on any of them. DMM doesn’t seem to be any better. I’ve seen someone else use a Petzl that seems to have a better texture to grip with sweaty hands or with gloves.
    I have the original non-clutch Husqvarna electric saw. It truly is amazing and competes very well with Stihl 201performance, but with slightly better weight balance; no fumes, and less noise.
