Heya not yet, but not because of the board itself but just Zen4/5 being only okay-ish upgrade nothing groundbreaking so Zen 6 might be it, if there isn't better board by that time or different socket then I am getting this one for sure.
Actually very good review, well done, very helpful! Looking at this Gigabyte since Asus is having issues on AM5. A good note here is that the VRM is DrMOS, not as good as the one on B650m Aorus PRO but let's see. Hope it won't have the coil whine that Gigabyte tends to suffer from.
Which VRM B650M Aorus Pro have then? I'm finding it hard to see any difference between these two boards. Which should I get? What's the major difference. I'm so confused.
@@masteraction1239 ended up completely lying and getting the asrock b650m pg riptide. Love it so far - fast boot times, had almost every header I needed (needed a case fan hub cuz I got too many fans). Probably can’t go wrong with this one either though tbh

To all you watching this in 2024. Rev 1.3 of this mobo now only has 6 pbc layers (openly stated on official site). It's been downgraded and prob not worth the price now.
Great review, but referring to users of the 2.5 Gbps LAN port as "into the classics", is an unfortunate characterization. If it's "classic" to prefer a network link that is light years ahead of WiFi in terms of speed and stability, then I guess I'm into classics. As far as I'm concerned, WiFi is all about convenience and connectivity to other wireless devices, not performance.
If you are watching this trying to find where the f are the sata slots, they are on the right lower part on a side (probably hidden by your already installed graphics card)
So it's 100% exact same board but 1 less m.2? Why are these boards not more popular? They are so much cheaper here in Australia. If it is the same I will be buying the B650M for sure
Do you by any chance know which of the rear IO USB ports are routed directly through the CPU and which are routed through the chipset? I've looked through the manual, but it doesn't indicate which ports are which.
Would a 3090 Founder Edition(61mm height) fit in the top PCIe 16x and I can still use the bottom PCIe slot? If you can please measure the distance between the top PCIe and the bottom one? I would love hear if it's possible, I have no idea where I can find that sort of information and you are the only one that has a video of it that is so good. I hope you can help me with this. Thanks!

Let’s say initially I only install one M.2 Storage. But after a year or two, I decided to add another M.2 storage. Can I just easily remove the cover without damaging the thermal pad on the first M.2? In short, will the thermal pad be so sticky after a year or two?

@ICmikeyP I did not know that. I was looking at the sapphire nitro + vapor 7900 XTX, will I not be able to put in bottom fans? Might need to find a different board. Looking to use the Jonsbo D31 mesh with screen case.
my current mobo is reasonably old it has 3 audio outputs, blue, green and pink. I use them to get 5.1 surround with a logitech system. These new mobos just have Mic and Line out. How can I use 5.1 just using those two ports?
it really comes down to which processor you'll be using, the aorus elite will have the thickest heatsink but for cpu up to ryzen 7, the other 2 should be okay too! both the aorus elite and riptide will have a built-in I/O shield, and the riptide may be good if you need clearance for top area of your build. as the top of the riptide doesn't have a VRM heatsink. :) I think all 3 boards are great, and you really can't go wrong with either 1, but if you go for the riptide, do make sure the power limit is unlock from that board to make full use of it!
if it's the MSI PRO B650m-P wifi, or the aorus elite, I believe the aorus elite will have a better VRM and heatsink as that motherboard will be closer to the B650m DS3H from gigabyte :)
If someone is watching and thinking of buying it. I don't recommend it. It's one of more expensive AM5 motherboards and it has a coil whine. I was surprised and disappointed by it. Of course, if you don't have your pc near your ears it will not be heard, but still...
I bought this motherboard and 10 days later I encountered a problem with the coil whining too. I compared ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte b650m motherboards, but finally chose this one. I know the noise doesn't cause harm, but it is annoying. How do you solve it? Do you apply for after-sales service replacement or refund it?
@@benjones885 as far as I read in the internet forums and etc I figured it out that not all Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite motherboards have the coal whine, so it's like 50/50 getting a board with the coil whine or not. As I live in one of the EU countries, we have a 14-day policy return without questions and get a refund.
