Yeh mine is great and it is running a very busy flight simulator set up with both PCIe slots working fine (sound card, 10gbps ethernet adaptor). I’ve got two x 10 port powered usb hubs with all my peripherals and everything runs super smooth. The only thing I’ve had a problem with just recently is some fans struggling to hold their level of rpm sometimes. I may just have reached the limit of what it can do. Mind you, each header is 2A and has 3x .55A fans plugged in. That has got me thinking that maybe I need a higher end mobo. I don’t really know anything about it though. Also - mine is comfortably supporting 2x32 GB 6400mhz without any issues.

thanks for the kind words! I think the stigma with HDD is that there is a latency when they spin up and seeking and transferring data is somewhat slower. For gamers the latency loading a texture or map can be annoying and in some cases lead to losing the game. For data storage and backups a HDD still is a perfect choice for its larger £ per TB and longevity

@mikesunboxing with how good the prices are. I'm getting a second one in the tower 200. They'll have all the same parts minus the gpu. The tower the 300 will have the rx 7900xtx sapphire pulse and the tower 200 will have the 4080 super oc edition in it. They're both all black parts and case. The 300 will be on its side i already got the fans and the 200 will be vertial. I was originally going to get a microcenter pre-built PC but I hated how it looked and returned it. I originally spent about 3150 one with a lesser ssd at half the capacity and went from 5600 to 6000 on my ram sticks. I'm thinking out the door for both is about 3600. Finally the best part is the 300 will have a 3 year warranty, plus I'll get to watch and possibly record each build. I thought I'd mention I'm playing it on a ark 55 gen 1 in a game room that will be sealed and filtered. I'm about to build with heavy filtration by lasko 2 in 1 box fan air purifier x3. I'm going to mount them in the wall 2 intakes with higher grade furnace furnance filters one behind the computer so she's clean and safe. The exhaust with a lower white is cheap 2 high grade for 20ish, and the low grade may get reusable for exhaust.

@@mikesunboxing I fully agree with you now. Yet, almost everyone making lists of best air coolers has it at or near the top. I should have known given its humongous size that it might be a problem. And the fans are ugly. Although it doesn't look as large as the one you installed in Collin's PC? 🙂
Great review Mike.Nice looking mobo.Hope George gets good use out of it.Thank you for sharing the video Mike and Kath 👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I hope so too
Which one is better when this compare to GIGABYTE B650 AORUS PRO AX? Main purpose of purchase is gaming and future proofing
both very similar the aorus pro is supposed to be the better board
Would you recommend a different motherboard.
i like the MSI B650 edge wifi and ASUS B650 tuf gaming wifi
Nice review , seems a nice board not that i would ever buy a board with built in wifi myself , but i am curious as to why people dont like spinny disks lol ? personally i do have an nvme drive but for my back ups i have 2 1tb seagate drives , purely becuase (as i beieve) the spinny disks use a LOT less power than nvme drives do and as i use the back ups every week or so i figured that the less electric they use the better , love your channel btw
thanks for the kind words!
Lovely review Mike.
but you made me a MSI fanboy 😛
same here, they come and go but aren't as good as msi
Would this be a good board for the ryzen 7 7800x3d? Or would you choose tomahawk?
i would go msi personally
I have this board with that 7800x3d and works perfectly fine
I have this exact motherboard and I just got it today. I got a 850 watt power supply from MSI and I’m wondering if it’s compatible with that motherboard? Cause like you’ve mentioned in the video it has a 4 and a 8 pin connector at the top, while some have dual 8 pins.
yes that will be absolutely fine
Unless you are going to overclock the cpu you just use the 8 pin connector
Is the antenna just for the wifi or is it for bluetooth as well? My bluetooth will not stay connected to my devices.
both
@@mikesunboxing thanks, xbox controller works just fine now.
@@JEMsTv_ Glad to hear that 🙂
what about coil whine? i saw many reports on this specific board
not noticed any so far, this might be because we use a high quailty power supply, coil whine is notably more common with cheaper low end power supplies
@@mikesunboxing thank you for the answer. I got corsair rm 750x 80+ gold. What u think
@@t3ngristttYou have a rather high quality PSU. You should be fine, really.
@@t3ngristtt Got that psu and no coil whine
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
hope you read this i want to buy a new mainboard for editing and rendering videos should i look for an other one ?
it will be fine with a decent CPU and GPU
How does this compare to other mobos in its price range
pretty good, although it will depend a lot of where in the World you are. Some countries this is really cheap
I have this exact motherboard rev 1.2, but the GPU is not detected at all. Currently, I am using integrated Radeon Graphics from Ryzen 7 7700x CPU until the dedicated GPU problem is sorted out.
Do u have the same issue with this board?
I already have remove and install GPU multiple times to make sure it is seated properly on PCIE slot.
My GPU is Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB.
it might be that the gpu doesn't support UEFI mode so try enabling CSM in the bios, that might do the trick
@@mikesunboxing Ok, I will try that and see.
¿Will this motherboard work for the Ryzen 9000 and 10000 series?🤔
yes it should do
@@mikesunboxing Good, thanks
How do I know if it is rev 1.2? Or is it just a case of updating the rev 1 to 1.2?
it says on the box barcode and slik screen printed on the motherboard
Just built a computer with this motherboard and the cpu light is on and i’m having trouble

It will be better with 7900x?
will be fine
@@mikesunboxing or b650e taichi lite?
I’m getting this MB paired with 7800x3d for a total of $423. With tax included.
With am5 cpu bracket also
at the same price i'm confused between x670 aorus elite vs x670e tomahawk... giga has more i/o vrm ports and msi has pcie 5.0 better bios.
when you get to x670 class boards there won't be a lot in it, the extra E version will have a bunch of extra lanes and likely more USB but rarely any extra real world performance
@@mikesunboxing thanks you.
I can’t screw off the SSD fram and I have a Philips

@@mikesunboxing all good now I just contacted the company and got a replacement
do not use bios version f24c caused vga light issues. rolled back to f23 and works perfectly.
very interesting thanks for that
@@mikesunboxing tried everything reseated gpu even bought a new psu cable in case that was the issue. still had the issue rolled back to the non beta bios works perfectly now. 4080super 78000x3d is an absolute beast of a build.
@@marcmcmillin6216 F30 is out and works perfectly, why are you even using beta bios version? Update to F30 stable and enjoy
Can it carry 7900x?
yes it can
Only non-gpu card that would fit that extended pcie X1 slot be a dual 2.5 caddy-card I have.Otherwise they wasted money on pointless plastic.
I have .......... no HAD the non AX model.......... It has weird issues, infact GIGABYTE B550 and B650 both have WEIRD ISSUES and in the end blew up my video card on my B650 Aorus Elite. I had keyboard keys sticking when opening browsers, I had audio stutters watching UA-cam across different models of Gigabyte in B550 and B650's........ AMD/NVIDIA cards, BIOS Updates - need to restart then boots back to windows so you have to do a BIOS Recovery to do the updates............. I spent ALOT OF MONEY trying to fix my audio stutters etc, Gigabyte has problems......... I am about to take them to the ACCC over what I have gone through...... no UA-camr on here wishes to expose the things going on.......... I went to an ASUS B650 TUF board and it works......... no issues, or rather not the same issues....... There is a massive problem with Gigabytes and they need to be exposed.
if enough people were having the same or similar type of problems it would get more attention, as much as i dislike Gigabyte and there software, i think you have just been unlucky
Finally picked up the 760 gaming x ax motherboard looks like they forgot the anti static bag 💼 which I got them to give me and they also forget the m.2 screws. No respect for the product or customer. Looks like no manual either. At least I can get that online and the drivers for the board. Looks like I will have to claim warranty for the m.2 screws as they are important! So much for all accessories there. Also picked up the tp link switch 16 port sg2218! At least that was all there!
i just bought a warehouse deal asus board from amazon, will be interesting to see what is missing from that
I wonder 💭 what you will receive in your box 📦
Finally got the screws for this board ….
I just finished building my pc with this and I triple checked everything and it won’t start dose anyone have any clue?
you just have to break it down to the minimum or parts to boot and take it from there
the v1 was replaced with v2 now which has 12+2+2 phases compared to the older v1 14+2+1
that seems like a downgrade?
I'm going insane lol what even can you plug in those 2 red ports (USB 3.2 gen 2, at least what gigabyte say), cause I tried plugging my kb (type A) and it doesn't fit ofc 😂
the red ports are backwards compatible with any type a device
@@mikesunboxing hey thx for answering, I'll try it again then
so for the V2 you’re paying 70 more quid for some better audio.
depends where you are buying it, but that is the jist of it
Personally i wouldnt use gigabyte, as the one i used (b560 Aurus elite AX) had something fishy going on with the power delivery , as i would suffer from microstuttering. As soon as i swapped it out with a decent asus board all was good. Also MSI is has always been running rocksolid.
cant beat a good MSI board
I got a 2 32gb 6000 vengeance ram, ryzen 9 7950x3d, 7900xtx 24gb with a Samsung 990 pro 4 tb with heat sync. I got this motherboard for 159.99 I'm using a thermaltake tower 30 case and 360 aio cpu cooler and 1050w gold certified power supply. It still needs to be built.
hope you enjoy your build! sounds like a great system
MSI ❤
yep!
Orico has a usb card that has 7 ports on the card! Which you can slot into one of those black slots 🎰 and the other to hold a ballsy sound card from creative labs 🥼 like the sounblaster z. So Mike never underestimate those useful black slots 🎰 on a motherboard!
Anyone can relate if theres any coil whine on this motherboard? im really considering buying it :/
Need a fast reply
none that i heard
@@mikesunboxing as i was around on forums, and some youtube, a lot people be complaining about coil whine noise from this motherboard for some of them its being caused by memory settings, and for some other by different bios settings. Some of them say it only appears in demanding games.
Meanwhile im upgrading my rig for full 4k experience.
I just returned b650e-e strix as the software is meh, and didn't like the board
Trying to find nice looking board with cool features and elite ax is one of them, but im too concerned about all that coil whine issue.
I would love to know if its still a thing in 2024 :/
I really like this board, would fit my build perfectly, except that, the other option is b650 tomahawk, but looks kinda bald compared to elite ax.
Im kinda lost in board game right now, been looking for a board for 2 weeks, but theres always something...
@@PaduszGaming Got this MB yesterday and no noises from anything, happy with it
I will pass on the am5 horror show!
don't be scared, it is okay really
Bad idea doing business with Gigabyte. They're as bad as Asus if you try to contact them about a problem. Be nice if an American company started building mother boards. Fat chance!
yeah that would be nice, or a UK company, but like you said fat chance
I wouldn't use Gigabyte or MSI, I only use Asus as I have never had any problems.. Asus have been doing the connector for front panel for years..
Whereas, Gigabyte and MSI have always been bad, for me..
i have had a few bad boards from all the brands so i don't really find any of them better or worse on that side of things, but i do like the MSI center and the MSI bios for making tweaks to the system, and armoury crate is improving but still not as good or lightweight as MSI center
Nice enough board but not something I would buy, but then again I wouldn't buy Gigabyte period! NOt to mention the Chipset Cover looks like an afterthought....???
i don't think i would choose it for myself, but our son wanted it what can you do
My computer was built by a store guy and for the 4pin and 8 pin connectors only the 8 pin is connected, the 4 pin is not, do both have to be connected? The computer works, but it has given me 3 crashes in 1 month, and idk if that pin that is not connected has to do with the crashes? @mikesunboxing
the 8 pin on its own is fine usually. crashes are likely badly configured ram in the system, try this video ua-cam.com/video/ehuPTeqbi7E/v-deo.html
