When I purchased my MX Keys there was no TKL however now that this one came out which I hoped for a mechanical wireless keyboard for a while didn't really want to replace batteries in G915 I noticed they even made a TKL version of MX Keys which is nice. Just shame it wasn't an option back then so now I'm honestly considering getting this.
This one is 75% layout actually, not TKL. TKL would be considered 80%. Coming from 80% I adjusted pretty quickly and the Mini is definitely one of my favorites out of all the keyboards I've owned. I was going to build my own 60% keyboard (with wireless) but as soon as I saw this new one from Logitech I went for it and it was well worth it. I got the blue switch version and it's still pretty quiet surprisingly, at least compared to my other blue switch keyboards.
Keep this content going mate, really good. I used to be a custom keyboard snob but then realised the futility of it. In the past I would have scoffed at this but the combination of their world class wireless functionality with the mechanical keys and clean aesthetic make this one a winner.
If you’re a snob, can you recommend “higher end” mechanical keyboards for Mac? Don’t know much about mechanical keyboards, but thinking to get into some mid-tier ones. From my 15 mins of research, it seems like most keyboards are made for windows.
Just picked one of these up today. I really like how the keys feel compared to the MX Keys I’ve had for years. I put the dongle in my Mac mini and then use Bluetooth 2 and 3 for other devices for work. Absolutely worth the money if you want a good quality keyboard.
Do the "wobbly" keys bother you? Tempted, but more than one review mentioned the wobbly keys. It's the kind of thing which might bother me so I'm undecided...
Logitech are knocking it out of the park with their MX series keyboards. I have the MX Keys and MX Keys Mini, love both of them. Unlike the competition, Logitech keyboards don't suffer from connection problems, and they connect really quickly. They also feel fantastic to type on. Unfortunately, can't buy this keyboard in the UK at the moment - it's out of stock.
My MX Mecha brown switch just arrived and I like it so much. It's my 1st mecha keyboard and it's true that it boosts my typing speed by 60% compared to my membrane keyboard :D Sleek, comfortable, long battery life (-5% in a week), good build quality, typing speed boost, better connectivity. Is it worth the bucks ? YES Money well spent hahahaha The backlight also turns on if you touch the metal plate, even from the sides :D
I have both mx key mini and mx master 3s, I don't have any issues when using them, but sometimes it makes me bored, using mechanical keyboards always makes me feel inspired, but anything left, Logitech did it great!
Honestly this is what I would get for anyone that isn't into keyboards and is hybrid or productivity user. Overall this + G305 is easy recommend for any kind of person. And personally I think 75% is the best, it's after all basically same as laptop layout so people are used to it. And in my experience f keys are really useful in various software, and just simple F5. Even as gamer it's just useful to have some "extra" keys to possibly macro. Personally I use K2 v2, but I'm used to bit thicker keyboards since I have always had gaming pc. But for people used to laptops (which most people are) or just random keyboards this could be pretty magical experience.
7:24 Dude, you aren't weird at all. I got my first mechanical keyboard and despite what I read online and surrounded myself with expectations, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was more difficult to type on for me in general. I vastly prefered my laptop (chiclet style) keyboard. I type faster and make much less errors. I think it is really down to the key action and the way it travels. That shallow tactility offered by a scissor switch is unparalleled and I think many writers prefer that too. I've come to realise the reason behind why a mature and well established company such as Logitech went with MX Keys as their de-facto productivity keeb. They nake gaming keebs too so its not like they couldn't make one. Probably did a lot of behind the scenes testing before zeroing in on that. They're just capitalising on the mech resurgence that has emerged recently imo and that's about it.
i just got mine and omg i love it i switched from the steelseries apex pro because i dont really play video games any more and looking for something that will give me convenience while staying mechanical as well i will definetly use it for a long time
Just picked up this keyboard and I really love it. Considered going with a few other options - but this keyboard having the quick swap multi-device support really made it a no brainer for me. I've found myself just simply wanting to type to use it.
I have the MX keys. I wish there was an MX keys model without the num pad. MX keys mini doesn't have home keys and arrow keys are too small. If there was a ten keyless MX keys (non-mechanical) that would be great!
As for the dongle, what I do with my mx master mouse, I keep it in a pencil case since I connect it via bluetooth at home and only use the dongle when I'm at work. But I agree, they should have found a place to put, but these product are so great nonetheless that I can easily forgive them for that.
He mentions that it's US international despite the UK enter key at 0:25, yet I don't see him addressing that it turned out to be the UK enter key anyway?
The sounds of all the keyboards at the end at 9:53 are made louder by your desk surface I think, combined with your desk pad. I also have the MX Keys Mini and mine does not sound hollow like yours does!!!
I also have the Keychron K3 and I'm getting 2 weeks of battery life. I imagine you want to buy this one too hahaha this addition to try new keyboards is not good haha
I type a lot in rooms that are poorly lit, so really like the "smart lighting" feature. Typing on a 10 year old K810, switches starting to skip, looking for replacement. Keys vs Mechanical?? BTW, the USA version has a different "Enter" key. Or are you using the Business version? From New Jersey, USA.
I have to say Logitech really surprised me with this keyboard and can't wait to get my hands on it. The G915 didn't really feel like a good wireless keyboard option since it doesn't have the convenient multi-device support plus the battery replacement is kind of annoying. Next thing I seriously hope they release would be a mechanical Logitech MX Ergo keyboard that can be recharged using cable instead of batteries now that would be a dream come true since I really like split keyboards when trying a lot. Been using Logitech MX lineup for years now despite the pricing. After starting to use MX Master 2S I couldn't really go back to an ordinary mouse just shame it died right after warranty ended ...
I am just watching this to see what people are saying about it. I got it from BestBuy today $54 off with the purchase of an Anywhere 3. - Which is why I bought it, because I needed a new mouse anyways. I love it, I think it's great. I got the "tactile" version, which is just brown switches. But they feel crisp, and typing on it feels extremally comfortable. I replaced my Keychron K3 low profile Wireless because it had red switches and was a nightmare for mistakes. This is MUCH MUCH better. One thing to note though, is Logitech's ecosystem is bad. If a device is using a BOLT receiver, and the other is using a Unifying receiver, you can't get either to work with each other. Which is confusing because of the bundle deal, but whatever. Great video!
Hey peeps, I have an issue with the MX Mech for mac. The backlight doesn't turn off, even after an hour... In any of the modes. I've tried every proposed solution on the web but nothing works. No reset, no reinstalling of the software. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the new macOS 13: Ventura?

@@Thenatalyteran It’s done tastefully though. And a word is more noticeable than a tiny logo. Logitech literally has a whole black bar for the word “logi” on a keyboard.
