    9:54 Conclusion
The logitech Mx Mechanical comes in two different sizes, the full sized MX Mechanical, and MX Mechanical Mini. The mini is a 75% keyboard. This also makes the mini version more travel friendly since it’s so tiny and fits in your bag easier. Otherwise, these keyboards are practically the same so if you’re watching this but looking at the full sized version, 90% of the stuff I mention will still be useful to you. They have bluetooth pairing, the ability to switch between 3 different devices with a press of a button, has a little usb dongle that you can plug in for a stronger connection and white backlighting that you can change by holding down FN and pressing the little light bulb button to the right of F12. It can cycle between static, motion sensing, heavy breathing, wave, trailing, and twinkle twinkle little star. The MX mechanical mini has a nice space gray aluminum plate under the keys, but the rest of the body is hard plastic. It also has little stands that angle the keyboard 8 degrees as well as rubber feet so it doesn’t scratch the surface it's sitting on. The keyboard charges using a usb c cable that’s provided in the box, and has a led indicator on the top right, that lets you know if it’s charging or if it’s low on battery.
The Logitech MX mechanical does not feel like you’re typing on their other keyboard MX keys. It feels more like a mechanical keyboard. Most laptop keyboards and Logitech’s own previous MX style keyboards are chiclet style keyboards. The MX Mechanical feels closer to a traditional mechanical keyboard. The body of the keyboard is larger, the keys and switches under them are taller, and they make more noise than chiclet keyboards. This keyboard comes with either, red linear, blue clicky, or brown tactile switches. These basically determine how the keyboard sounds and feels when you type on them. You can’t easily switch these out.
There was a little learning curve switching to a 75% layout. The right shift key is slightly smaller than what I’m used to and initially I would miss it and press on the up arrow key instead. The battery life lasts pretty long. I got around 2 work weeks before needing to charge it and the key caps are removable so you can easily switch keycaps with the proper stems. However, Logitech does not sell replacement keycaps. And if you plug the keyboard directly into your computer, it only charges it, it doesn’t make a wired connection between the keyboard and your computer.
One of the biggest appeals of Logitech’s keyboards is logi options. Logitech’s software that lets you get updates, set hot keys, change layouts and other unique features that are included. For Logitech MX series devices and some of their higher end productivity devices, they come with Logitech flow and that lets you move the mouse and keyboard between different computers on the same wifi network as long as you have logi options downloaded and the device paired to both. It even works between Windows and Mac OS. Flow is nice to have, but it shouldn’t be your deciding factor when deciding between this keyboard and a different one.
What alternatives are there? Logitech’s own G915 TKL, the MX Keys, Keychron K2, and Apple Magic Keyboard. The apple magic keyboard is annoying to pair with things, and is better suited to only macs. The MX Keys has chiclet keys but is a bit more portable because it’s not as thick. The Logitech G915 TKL has a media scroll bar, has better latency, is more expensive and isn’t suited for multiple device workloads the way the other logitech MX keyboards are and the Keychron k2 feels and sounds nice to type on, while containing the majority of the Logitech MX Mechanical’s features, it’s also 2-3x thicker and is heavier.

I got my mini yesterday after watching your video and trying one in a store and I really like it. Had a full sized mechanical keyboard before and yea, definitely typing a little slower but really like all the other features very much and 100% worth it for me trading typing a little slower for Bluetooth, multi device (windows and one Mac book) and and the very compact size.
Got the tactile quiet versus the linear I tried at the store and am very happy with it. Linear felt a little mushy and the tactile quiet are perfect.

If you're looking for a direct comparison, check out Keychron's K3. The Logitech board is very similar.
I've been using an MX Mechanical Mini with brown switches for ~ 2 weeks. It's a decent middle-ground between my MX Keys and regular mechanical keyboard. If you have no interest in customizing your keyboard, this is a great option. That said, the MX Mechanical Mini is almost twice the price of the Keychron K3. For $150 you could buy a K3 with hot-swappable switches and still have ~$65 for some custom keycaps.

How did you feel about the super-fast backlight timeout?
I've reached out to Logitech and they agree the fast timeout is unacceptable. It's not clear if/when there will be a feature added to Options+ to adjust the backlight.
I returned the MX Mechanical and MX Keys both for the same reason. It's a major design flaw that hinders usability and ruins the experience if you work in a dim or dark room.

I went from the MX Keys (full size) to the MX Mechanical (full size) and after having such a long period of my life on slim laptop style keys... I'm not entirely sure if my switch will be permanent. The noise of the keyboard even on the borwn switches is significantly higher than anything I used. That being said the quality of the keyboard is truly excellent and with the solid design I think its worth the price. As I travel around with work... if im going to bring a keyboard with me it will most definately be the MX Keys. Will have to use to use this one for a week and see how going back to the MX Keys will feel and make the judgement call then.

Just chiming in here from the apparently unique perspective of a scissor switch lover.
Bit of history - used a Creative Fatal1ty keyboard intermittently for ~5 years before settling on the HP Elite wireless keyboard (v1) for another 5 years. Moved to a Surface Keyboard for almost a decade after killing a couple of those HP Keyboards, then due to WFH had to switch to Logi's MX Keys for the past few years.
Up until that point, most of the keyboards I used in addition to those were laptop keyboards - the 2016 razer, Alienware 13r3, Alienware m15r2, a couple various Dell XPS's. All scissor switches - but all GOOD scissor switches. I definitely have a preference for them.
Now, I typed very fast on the MX Keys, but I never really liked them. The keycaps, while accurate, were uncomfortable, and the stability of the switches left something to be desired. I didn't understand why the internet seemed to think the MX Keys were god's gift to scissor switches, when the Surface keyboard was clearly superior from a tactility perspective, if not as accurate. The killer app for the MX Keys though was definitely the device switching.
    Enter the Corsair K100 Air.
I had a fit. I fell down a rabbit hole. Was I missing something? I had been ignoring everything everyone told me about mechanical keyboards because they missed all the marks I liked about good scissor switches. When I looked at the metrics, the scissors I am used to have GREATER actuation force, lower travel, and less noise. All things I like.
I dropped the money for Logi's MX Mechanical (tactile, as they matched closest to the Surface Keyboard switches). It hurt. Physically. My wrists hurt. My fingers were fatigued. I tried to stick with it for a week. But after 4 days, all I could say was that my typing speed was down 10%, my errors were up ~10%, and I was definitely getting typing fatigue (text heavy job + gaming ~14hrs a day). ~91-97wpm , ~91-94% accuracy.
I bought the Corsair K100 Air.
When it arrived, within 4 key presses I was in love. I'm on it now. I'm typing as fast (albeit a touch less accurately) than I was with the MX Keys. It's comfortable. It feels good. It's clicky. It has the RGB (!) that my Razer did - mostly. ~104-108wpm, 99% accuracy. And this was immediate; I didn't have to "make myself like it".
Point being - Human Interface Devices are a personal thing. Mechanical keyboards do provide options. But sometimes, the option that is preferable is actually not to get mechanical keyboards that are out there.
These Cherry MX ULP's though? Chef's kiss.
