Metallica is awesome! Now you should check the live version, Moscow 1991. My other recommendations: One official music video and Master of Puppets, also official video, with lirycs.
The first time I really got into Metallica was when they played at Woodstock '94. I knew their stuff from earlier and I was hip to Enter Sandman and stuff like that but I wasn't a Metalhead. I loved all kinds of heavy/hard Rock and Prog Rock but I wasn't totally into the Metal bands, as much. Then I saw them play Woodstock and I was blown away! Crushed it!
The live version from Moscow is an experience. It was either right before or after the fall of The Berlin Wall and that concert was the finale nail in the coffin of the Soviet Union!
One and Master of Puppets are masterpieces. Fade to Bkack and Welcome Home Sanaterium are great, too. For heavy songs, try battery, damage Inc., fight fire with fire, hit the lights and dyers eve are great, too. Great instrumentals are Call of Ktulu, Orion, and To Live is to Die. There is an unforgiven song trillogy woth checking out. The original Unforgiven is one of my fav Metallica songs. The Sandman in this video is like the bogeyman. A fictional monster that comes for you at night time.
I remember this record coming out in 1991 (Metallica's self-titled 'black' album) and Metallica fans like me, who had no MTV or rock radio where I was, got a copy on cassette and the first song 'Enter Sandman' (also the first single) was immediate... It hit u like no other metal song at the time and being a Metallica diehard as a teen, I played the hell out of that record - every song was killer to me. Of course, it was overplayed in the US and it became Metallica's first #1 album and it has sold 16 million copies in the US to date... 5 singles came off this record ('Enter Sandman' ... 'The Unforgiven' ... 'Wherever I may roam' ... 'Nothing else matters' ... 'Sad but true') and Metallica went on tour in 1991 and ended their run in the Summer of '94. By that point, Nirvana had come and gone... heavy metal had been replaced by 'alternative' rock... and Metallica was one of the few 80's bands that still had a massive career. Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) came up w/ the original riff for 'Enter Sandman'... Lars Ulrich (drums) suggested that they rearrange it and stretch it out a few bars for the song ... James Hetfield (vocals/ guitar) came up w/ the lyrics of a nightmare scenario - the mythical 'Sandman' who gives the sleeping the ability to dream. (DC Comics had a hero called Sandman... Later, Sandman became a very different character for DC's Vertigo Comics) as a keeper of dreams and the dreamworld) Lars insisted during the recording sessions that 'Sandman' was going to be the lead track on the record... the other 3 members thought that the track 'Holier than thou' ...was the key single. But once 'Holier than thou' was finished, the band realized that Lars was right... 'Sandman' was a better track. Many hardcore Metallica fans were irate that the 'black' album appealed to a pop audience who loved 'Nothing else matters'... and 'The Unforgiven'... Me personally, I felt irate years later when Metallica released the album 'Load' in 1996, which was not a heavy metal record and sounded like a fusion of Oasis, Alice in Chains, U.F.O. and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
One, Master of Puppets, Fade to Black, Ride The Lightning, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Sanitarium, The Four Horseman, Holier Than Thou, Sad But True, Wherever I May Roam, Creeping Death, Disposable Heroes
I have one casette tape still with me and that is Metallica's black album. It's because that album and more specifically this particular song from it is what made me a metal head back in 1993 when I bought it.
Recommendations for Metallica- Album versions- -Master Of Puppets -Fight Fire With Fire -Thing That Should Not Be - I Disappear ( music video ) ( live ) - Fight Fire With Fire ( live in Mexico City )
Yep, they're up there on the Mt. Rushmore of metal bands no doubt. The live show in Moscow will blow your mind but the official music video for One is a masterpiece that can't be missed! Decades of metal mastery down this rabbit hole.
That MT Rushmore for me would have them, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Those 4 stand above all other metal bands, I love old school, classic metal. Rock On! 🎸
An Ikonic song to say the least, you are doing the right thing, doing the official song and video first. Great album, it made them superstars. Try the same song live in Moscow and watch in wonder, totally unique scene with a million and a half crazed fans at the Moscow Airport for the Monsters of Rock tour. Rock On and enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
You should play this concert it was live in Moscow it was a free concert put on by Russia the biggest crowd ever from any concert it was an ocean of people
Please, DON'T FORGET LIVE VERSION... Metallica, Enter Sandman, LIVE, MOSCOW 1991.,... 1.600.000 people as audience!!! You NEED to SEE and HEAR THAT VERSION!!! Anyway, i am from Serbia 🇷🇸, i love your reaction!❤❤❤
I love Metallica but Here’s something you should know about Metallica. There’s a band that I like listening to more called Megadeth. The singer/guitarist for Megadeth Dave Mustaine was the original lead guitarist for Metallica. But he unfortunately left Metallica because of his drug problems at the time and because of tensions & feuds with each other. But while Mustaine was in Metallica he wrote riffs that he intended to use for the band but after he left he told Metallica to never use his riffs. And unfortunately they did. And that really pissed Mustaine off. According to what I read Metallica used Mustaine’s riffs on there first 3 records: Kill ‘Em All, Ride The Lightning, & Master Of Puppets. Mustaine was of course credited for the songwriting but I agree that using the riffs without permission is so uncool. And honestly I listen to Megadeth more than Metallica because Megadeth feels like a much more legitimate band. I still love Metallica they became legitimate ever since ‘And Justice For All. But honestly I like Megadeth more. But yeah you should listen to Megadeth as well. They have such kickass songs that made them a part of the Big 4 of Thrash Metal which includes Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, & Anthrax. One of Megadeth’s most famous songs is Holy Wars (The Punishment Due) which is a song you should listen to. So yeah check out Megadeth. By the way, Cool Bullet For My Valentine shirt. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love your reactions been subscribed for awhile. If you want to hear HEAVY Metallica you must do Battery, Disposable Heroes or Master of Puppets. This is a good song but sorry to say it is watered down Metallica.
Cat head-bang cleaning in the background 😂

I actually got my old school, hip-hop, loving husband, and his best friend into Metallica. I’m proud of myself.😂 😂😂
Definitely check Metallica - «One» (official video)!
