Aquaroll Internal Pipe

- In this video, I demonstrate how to make a dual purpose PVC internal pipe for your caravan aquaroll. The pipe is used to fill up the aquaroll in a clean and hygienic way, while also reducing airlocks by keeping the pump at the bottom of the aquaroll.
What you need to install the internal pipe
Plumbing items:
PVC pipe - diameter is 1½"/44mm and the length is 18½"/47cm
plastic nut - 1½" (T8M)
black rubber washer 1½"
Tools for the job:
knife and/or sharp chisel
measuring tape
pencil
saw
drill
size 13 drill bit
sand paper
Products I use include:
Whale Watermaster - Easi-Push Plug
Whale Watermaster High Flow 921 pump, complete with hose Whale Part No. EP1612
Aquaroll 40 Litre Tank (CCW 1037)
Aquaroll 40 Litre Cover (CCW 1105)
Aquaroll Float Valve (CCW 10411)
Whale Aquasource Water Filter 12mm (WF1230)
That's one of the best caravanning ideas I've seen. Nice job sir.
Thank you for the lovely message
Thanks. Not long back from B&Q with same said piece of plastic tube !
Brilliant !! At last, a good idea for caravaners on you tube !!
Super idea, thanks for sharing now into 2nd season with it. I just did one small mod and that was to super-glue the rubber seal to the top of the tube to keep it in place. Thanks again.👍🏻
What a great idea. I was thinking how it would work with using an internal float too, so thanks for showing that.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing this.
My aquaroll uses a water filter and not a pump an is always sucking air even with a weight in line. this is a great idea, I have been pondering a solution for a while, and this will do nicely thanks.
Hopefully this works for you. It's also worth checking the rubber rings around the connections. A few years ago I replaced the O rings. Worked a treat!
very clever idea ,well done.
Fantastic idea 👌
This is a 'must do' job. Many thanks.
What a great idea - thank you!!
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.
Great tip. Will be doing this tomorrow. Thanks.
spot on great idea 👍🏻
Great info Thanks ,though i would be wary of touching the pipe ( to the tap that every one has touched ) and then putting it back into the aqua roll
Great video, great idea, thank you ☺
Thanks Chris. Hope it helps.
Great idea, thanks for that 👍
Thanks for the support
Great idea
Thanks Daniel
Very good system!
Thank you
Very useful. Thanks 🙏
Thank you very much.
Well done. Very informative with good, clear presentation.
Thank you for the feedback. The pipe works really well for us. Hope to upload another video soon.
Tnx for this video.
I am totally new to caravaning, so is the aquaroll to purely to stop air getting into the caravan, or is it specifically the water supply for the caravan, and why does the caravan need an aquaroll if it can connect to a mains water supply on site? Help please?
For the filler tube mod, rather than drilling holes at the base, I have cut the tube end at 45 degrees
That's a great idea. And quicker to make. Is it still secure while in the tank? I haven't had any issues with the holes. Thanks Evin
Hi my pump and filer is a whale but a single pipe so will the carbon filter fit inside the pipe, mine is the aqua smart wf3000, hope it dose so I can do that pipe.
Please note; I understand 38mm pipe is a continental size and not readily available in the UK.
40mm is and would easily fit in the Aquaroll neck but until I try, I’m not sure if a 40mm nut would be able to be trimmed down to fit like in the video.
I still think it’s a really good idea and will be giving this a go myself.
Hi Roger, let me know how you get on. The 1 1/2 inch or 44mm diameter pvc pipe should work with the 1 1/2 plastic nut. Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Thanks. Evin
I’ve just tried this with the nut for the 40mm and it only goes half way into the opening when trimmed.

Steve, mine was a really tight fit but did go down for a flush fit. The drawback was it made the cap a tight fit on the threads. A hacksaw cut through the side of the “nut” cured this by just reducing it’s diameter when pushed into the Aquaroll’s neck.
I’ve done this modification to both my Aquarolls and reckon it’s a really great improvement as I was always getting to the water tap and realising that I’d forgotten the filler pipe.
fair play pal
Thanks Paul
Where did you get the plastic nut from? I ant find one anywhere
Hi Paul, you will find them in most hardware stores or plumbing suppliers. It's a one and a half inch loose nut (code t8m). Hope that helps.
Just a question...is the tube diameter 1 1/2" or 44mm, because 1 1/2" converted is 38.1mm?
Hi Laurie. The outside tube diameter is 44mm, while the instead diameter is 1 1/2" (or 38.1mm). It is a standard pipe, often referred to as an 'inch and a half'. Hope that clarifies. Evin
@@thecavancrew all is clear now thankyou.
Does a PVC pipe diameter 50mm (outside) fit? In Holland we have 32mm, 40mm and 50mm PVC pipes.
Fijne vakantie daar in France! Ik ga er binnenkort ook mee aan de slag 💪🏼
Excellent work buddy and thanks for sharing a good idea.
Happy caravanning
If this is waste pipe, it won't be food grade quality plastic. Not a problem for us as we use bottled water for drinks but just a thought!
Great idea but pipe went uphill out of van surely that's wrong
Pull the aquaroll away from the caravan, so the pipe comes straight out. (This has the added benefit of protecting the side of the caravan from getting marked by the aquaroll.)
Sounds like you are not using the pump correctly in the first place. Set the rubber cap on the pump hose the height of the barrel and it won’t curve up. In 20 years I have never pulled air in to the system. Set it up correctly in the first place and you don’t need to do any of this.
