Hi Phil, very new to caravanning and I had the same problem, alarming all the time. When got our van it was stored in the sink so we carried storing it there between trips. Stored in the sink it's stored in a circle so in the water hog it just curled up, hence no water and alarming constantly. I now travel with it hanging straight down in the shower head, never happened since 😊
Thanks Martyn, I agree any pipe or sleeve that weights the hose is great in my book. Sorry for the late reply but have been filming away from home and the internet has been poor where I was. Thanks Phil
My answer is to use a clean length of dressed wood the length of the pump hose. Fit a suitably sized Terry clip to each end of the stick and fit the pump to the Terry clips, stand upright in the shower cubicle. This keeps the pump hose straight and free from kinks when not in use. Since doing this we've had no trouble with kinky pump hose.
Thanks Mervyn. Since making this video I found it very interesting how other people have addressed this problem. The only thing that bothers me is that as it is such an issue Truma have never done anything about it. The Whale version which I now use is far better. Many Thanks Phil🙂👍

We never have issue with it floating to top. We have never rolled up the hose but store it lying down straight behind tap on kitchen unit when not in use. I have seen others use plumbing pipe to keep it straight when in barrel.

When I try to get water coming out of my taps the water is coming out the blue drain from under the caravan. My drain switch is in the down position. Help please
Hi. It sounds like you have a pipe leak or the drain switch is broken. 1st check all your pipe connections if these are ok then perhaps consider replacing the switch. Hope this helps. Phil👍🙂
Hi Phil could you buy the Whale pump? Dan and Andrew both showed how good they are. We had the same problem too. Cheers Oliver
Thanks Oliver yes I could and have since making this film. Andrew Ditton kindly sent me his from his Adria film. Phil
We’ve had problems with Truma , is the whale worth the spending for easier water flow and less stress x
Amanda Mcnab
Hi Amanda the simple answer is yes. Since making this film we have been using the Whale one and have not had an issue at all. It sounds strange but has been nice to fill an empty Aqua roll up. Phil
lost weekends caravan thank you so much! I will definitely be buying this weekend, last trip the spluttering tap was very annoying, and yes filling a half full aqua roll is also frustrating! 👍🏻 thank you again x
Amanada make sure you buy from a good dealer and not ebay as there are some cheap copies out there!
I think mine has seized up (corrosion)?.
Hi Robert. If you mean this pipe. May I suggest the Whale Pumps version for the truma system. It is a much better bit of kit. Video to it here. ua-cam.com/video/nG0BCjmlcgU/v-deo.html I use this if I am not on a fully serviced pitch. Thanks Phil.👍🙂
@@lostweekendscaravan There is rust staining on the immersion part ,is this the actual pump or a filter ,the red light comes on the panel but no flow?.
Hi Robert Have you checked and cleaned the filter? If you have the same system as me the filter can be removed, cleaned and replaced. If not you may need to purchase a new one. If this doesn't work may I suggest a Caravan Engineer take a look at it. Please let me know how you get on. Thanks Phil.🙂👍
Yes better but I use a piece of plastic sink waste pipe even straighter
Hi Geoffrey that's another great idea. I have to say I don't use the truma one anymore I have a whale version which is much better made. Plus I do use fully serviced pitches as much as possible. Thanks Phil 😊 👍
@@lostweekendscaravan yes so do we.and also use an automatic water fill with a balcock valve from amazon never again that problem you won't be disappointed
Hi Geoffrey. I don't use the aquaroll anymore, I have a Whale water master system. Plugs into the Caravan direct from the tap. Saves weight and space. Been using it for nearly 4 years never had an issue. Here is a link to my video on it. It's not cheap but worth the money. ua-cam.com/video/2fpkBZH9prc/v-deo.html thanks Phil.👍🙂
Truma do a simliar device. www.jacksonsleisure.com/caravan/motorhome/truma/ultraflow/waterline/water/hosepipe/
Not a pump,it,s pick up pipe!
Thats correct a Pump hose/pick up pipe but its still not very good. I no longer use it. Phil🙂
you didn't say this was for the internal pump and tank as the truma external pump is much heavier and goes to the bottom of the aquaroll.
You maybe correct how ever everyone else under stood what I mean't. I have since replaced this item for a whale version as it is much better. Thanks Phil:)
understand. I've never seen that sort of hose/pump but have an elegance 650 on order and that has 2 water inlets so will see what comes with van. cheers.
@@MrSnookerballs Thanks Does the Elegance have an on board water hence the 2 inlets? Phil
@@lostweekendscaravan does the whale replacement have a filter at the end rather than the pump? I am looking to replace my Truma pump hose. I have looked on Amazon, could you possibly give me the item name please? Cheers.
sorry meant to say also, does the Whale replacement have the Truma connection to the van? It seems odd that Whale would make something that fits Truma bayonet fitting but if it solves the problem, happy days!
I just when not in use i.keep.tye
Thanks Lee.🙂👍
