I have 2 of these Pecron E3000s that I use for emergency back up power and unless you are using very high power (over 1000 watts) you don't even hear the fans. Mine also came with the trolleys and they are excellent for moving around. When I need power in my shed I just wheel it out there, No problem.
Professor, I have been watching your channel for quite some time. It is mind boggling that your subscriber count is not higher than it is. You provide a tremendous amount of detail in your videos when you perform your product test reviews. The reviews are very thorough and comprehensive. Glad u say that because I am sick of low self esteem people saying " I can build the same thing for cheaper than what they are charging". So annoying. Yes, anybody can do something themselves for cheaper. If they are so smart they should try to sell one.
Actually, most of the time you can't build the same for cheaper. DIYers don't factor in the total cost including things like shipping cells from China, or they use a cheap substandard inverter. They almost never factor in the BMS, cabling, case, display, AC chargers, USB and most look like something Frankenstein made. There is economy in scale that the Chinese excel at.
Yeah the advantage isn’t in the price, it’s having a non-proprietary system where any part that breaks can be replaced individually. As opposed to having to mail back an entire unit. But also after the warranty is up, I imagine you still can’t fix it yourself because if you pull it apart it’s all proprietary parts that can’t be bought anywhere. Probably only electronics gurus could fix them without help from the company.
Love your work. I’m a low-ish tech mom but I’m a detailed researcher for purchases. You dug into all the right places & yet stayed out of the weeds. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Speaking for myself only, I appreciate that it only has a 2000 watt inverter. This way a lot of the stored power does not go to running the inverter and gives you a higher efficiency rating, and allows you to use it longer before charging takes place. The deal breaker for me though is that it is not UPS. I use an old dinosaur as ups for a portable fridge and freezer in the garage the Inergy Apex and the delta max for the residential fridge for UPS when we travel as we have frequent power outages. As always professor HOBO great job.
@Dale Devito I am not 100% sure, but since no one else answered I will try. It has something to do with how fast the battery switches over and takes over. It makes sure you have uninterrupted power. Awesome and thorough review! The Professor finds things out that other reviewers just won't or can't do. You definitely "moved on up" with this one and I'm so glad you're still wearing that white glove especially when sticking your finger in that Pecron lighter. Bzzzt! lol 👍🏻😁😎 Seems like the majority would rather have mo Powa, heavier weight and longer cycles than this puppy here. But for peeps that need that portability, this one shines!
I started out thinking... "could this be the one for me?" which progressed to an excited "I think this might be the one for me" but ultimately culminated in "Oh no. The cons." Sigh. The hunt continues. Thanks for all your hard work!
Honestly this is a great deal for what I am going to use it for. I don’t use wireless charging, it’s easy too hook to roof solar, relatively light for it’s power and size, and even the USB ports don’t bother me (glad you found out they failed there, but still a steal for the price). I don’t mind the power bricks actually for how I use my power station. I’d rather have the 600w charging power 😅.
Thank you for testing this product I have purchased several units from Pecron and have had a hard time getting detailed answers from them so thank you for your video it was very informative. It’s nice that people like you are out there that will test and verify that these Power banks work and deliver as advertised. Thank you for your input. It was greatly helpful to me.
@@LarryDickman1 Very yikes. I don't trust the inverter in UPS mode anymore. Both units died (fried, you could smell it) when the power briefly blipped while then were in UPS mode.
Well if you're using the Delta Pro to try to fix or power up your broken spaceship to fly back to planet Melmac, you're going to fry that Delta Pro easy. I'm thinking if you put 100 of them in parallel, that might get you off the planet. And I better warn Professor Hobo to keep his eyes on his "cats!" I know how good them cats tastes to ya. (Alf was the coolest of aliens.) Sorry about the situation on your device. Yeah, the FedEx guys will definitely remember you. I'm thinking an early Christmas present may placate them.
Code still working and it is July 5. Wow! Just saying Thank You HoboTech for saving me a total of almost $600 on my total order for 2 units AND for this amazing video that helped me decide 💯🤗
I’m good with our Bluetti 200P & Jackery 1000. Plus the solar we built for home use. 😆Your PECRON USB ports fall “short” of a win though. LOL. Great video. Thanks for the giggles.
When I was setting up a subwoofer for my truck, I remember I had found an online voltage loss calculator and it asked questions about if it was aluminum clad or pure copper, distance, voltage, awg, etc. Now this was some years back so I'm not going to remember exact, but I remember that my voltage was more than a 1v loss by the time the power got from the battery to my amp and I remember feeling frustrated by that, and I shortened the cable as much as I felt I could without removing the possibility of being able to cut the tips off and redo them on the chance of any moisture corrosion or anything like that. I probably lobbed off a good foot and a half or two feet of cable and I think I gained a good 4 tenths of a volt back, though I can't be certain of that from memory, but these concepts have stayed with me through these years. You're probably way more experienced and know what you're doing comparing and contrasting as many devices as I see you've reviewed, but I haven't watch them all being relatively new to the channel, but could that have some impact on why the solar battery generator is saying a higher output wattage on your usb ports than what your device on the other side is saying it's getting?
Was going all in with Bluetti AC300, but this changed my mind as I'm not sure I'd need it enough to justify the lifepo4. Thanks to the discount it basically gives me a free extra charger. HOBOTECH POWAH!!!

I've been watching you for years thank you so much for all the information. In 20 months my wife and I will be leaving for full time travel hoping to bump into you along the way. My goal is to set up my 40 foot travel trailer primarily for boondocking. I was wondering if you do any consultations of any sort. Thank you so much for what you do
Hi Hobo! You are by far my favorite researcher/presenter/educator for the alternative energy units. Do you do private consultations for pay? I want to purchase something for an entire house back up system but I honestly feel overwhelmed by all the info and choices and am pretty lame on all of this in spite of watching tons of you videos. Thanks for all your amazing research on our behalf!
Just made the purchase...had everything I was looking for except Bluetooth. Web site was a bit wonky but it was probably overloaded. Thanks for the review...hopefully you will get a response on the 100w PD port?
If you think that power station is loud, just go ahead and test the ECOflow Delta Max at full discharge! Makes about 63db! LOL Great video :) :) ...watch for quicksand....and hernia! LOL
Got mine during "indie" campaign for about $0.50/wh and they included cart no charge. First unit bricked after charging. Customer service was thorough and prompt trying to remedy. Ultimately had to return and received replacement within 3 weeks. So far 2nd unit working great. Only thing curious is the charger (or BMS?) doesn't "step down" wattage for last few % of battery like all my other "SoGens". It's 575 til the very end and doesn't shutoff, I have to pull plug. Fingers crossed.
I purchased the E3000 Pecron based on your video for emergency. In the future I’ll need to replace my 3000 watt solar system with 12, 400 watt Full River AGM batteries. They are 10 years old but still charging ok. I need to figure out if I can used my setup with lithium batteries.
Hey Mr. Hobo and Kitty, Just hit the buy button using your code - was cheaper than Amazon, both had free shipping too. Love your vid's and (said with love) dorky persona 😍. Always fun and very informative.
Damn, that's a REALLY nice unit, and the price is not bad at all, for what you get. The only thing I don't like is the Li-NMC battery, but it could not be that small or weigh that little if it had a LiFePO4 battery in it. I really like the detachable trolley kit. Bummer that the PD port isn't really 100w. "Is that a Pecron in your camper van or are you just happy to see me?"
I've been comparing this to the BLUETTI AC200P with a LiFePO4 battery, which would be my other favorite in the same power and price neighborhood. It might be worth considering that with the greater overall power capacity, the Pecron is not such a bad choice. Something that isn't being talked about... You have to charge the Bluetti more often to achieve the same volume of power output. Using the Pecron data of 3108wh (2000wh for the Bluetti). 1500 cycles at 3108wh per charge, the Pecron will have produced 4,662,00wh. The Bluetti would have to be cycled 1/3 more times, or 2,331 cycles to achieve the same power output. At that point the Bluetti would be 1,169 cycles away from it's own rated efficiency reduction to 80%. Still better than the Pecron but not by such a wide margin.
I have to be worried about weight in a motor home. But I need the power punch when I need it. Need solar into it fast. Would Need new input wires adapting to my solar.
hey love the channel. thanks for great reviews and entertainment. Just wanted to mention that i seen an ad for 4 patriots looks like they released a new solar generator. i would love to see a review of this product. im wondering if this generator is any better than the first one they released. Thanks again, keep it up!!!
I use one of those portable house Air conditioners in my van (on shore power). 8000BTU It's rated at 1800 watts/15A . According to my calculations, it should run on the Oukitel P2001, although not for long. Would be neat to have that option from time to time.... thinking about running with it until i figure out what the long game is for Air conditioning.
It only missing UPS to be perfect. They just released the E1500 Pro which has UPS, but it's missing LIfePO4 batteries. I really like how sturdy they are. Once they include both features in either model it will hit the nail.
Given that you have the Pecron S1500F and now the E3000.... if you were going to spend the $$$ yourself, would you buy two of the 1500's or one of the 3000's? Given that the 1500's have a 2000 charge cycle life vs the 1000 charge cycle life on the 3000... Obviously that may heavily depend on what you would be using them for. Myself, I'd use them to run my refrigerator/chest freezer during power outages. Curious as to your thoughts on this, given that the cost would be very similar for the 2 vs 1. Does the cycle life even factor into a decision like that for you? Thanks in advance for a great channel. Wishing you the best.
hmmm... I was thinking this would be GREAT for a van where you were running the usual electronics and perhaps an induction burner. Honestly, vans are limited on room and this just fits the bill... but the little Fibonacci regarding the USB power outputs makes it a no-go. How can I even trust their two-year warranty if they're going to Fib on that?
Hobotech another awesom review, can you PLEASE TEST the pecron E2000LFP? Their first LiFePO4, only 48 lbs and with 1200 watts solar pass thru input, etc and is considerably less cost than any in it’s class…??? Thanks!!!!!
I bought one. Plugged it into a blower. Draw was a consistent 60w. Should drain 20% in 10 hours. But it drained 20% in 7 hours. (1) can you tell me why it seems to drain faster than it should? (2) did you test this unit to determine whether one actually gets what it theoretically should provide? I'm confused why when it says it's providing steady 60wh, it doesn't last as long as it should. Thanks for your input.
Dr Hobo: Is it worth the extra money for the E3000, or is the Q3000s a better option for the price in your view? You mentioned the Q3000s in passing as an option, but not whether the E3000 is worth the extra money over its predecessor. Thanks much.
I take it that it does not come close to the 4,000 watt surge since it stopped at 2,100 during the heat gun test. Also, I enjoy your videos they are very informative. Keep up the good work. I hope you get a chance to review the E2000 and E1500 from Pecron. Especially since the E2000 will have the add on power banks like Bluetti has implemented.
That's quite a handle the AC charging adapter has on it, never seen that before. Wonder if it occurred to the Pecron people that those things might be a little large.
Hello Professor, I connected two Newpowa 240 watt solar panels in series (VOC 27.08Volts) to my Pecron and so far my peak output seems to be around 256 watts at 29 volts. Shouldn’t I be seeing it closer to the 480 combined watts. I’m in sunny south Florida, sunshine a plenty! Should I plug each panel separately to test and compare outputs? Thank you for any insight you can offer!
Nice review. Pretty ridiculous about the USB-C PD port output though. I wonder which pecron pecr head thought they could get away with that with no one finding out.
I have had this unit awhile based on this videos results and am now testing solar panels with the generator discharged to 70%. I paid up for two BougeRV 200w CIGS flex panels and wasn't happy with the output. I did not have a benchmark so I bought two Renogy Black Mono 100w flex panels to compare. My findings were just as disappointing. The BougeRv "latest technology" were marginally 1% better. With the two BougeRv Yuma BIGS 200w in series I test 58.1v at 7.21a which result in 418w watts. When I connect them to the Pecron via the supplied aviation 5 pin, I see an input of around 180watts or a loss of 238w (56.94%). Per your video charging test, the display shows a close wattage input (only about 4% loss) per your testing devices when calculating its volts x amps. When I plug the supplied AC charger (42v x 15a = 630w) in the 110v wall outlet, the display reads 550w or 80w (12.7%) loss. I have tested both charging ports with the same results. Am I missing something here?
This is the response from Pecron support: Greetings! I forwarded your question to our engineer for consultation, his response is: It is very likely that the influence of the sunlight factor, because your solar panel is flexible may not support, irradiation angle also very affect the charging power. (You can also try parallel connection, charging efficiency will be higher if parallel connection, or two solar panels are inserted into different ports for charging at the same time) About our AC charger, it is the upper limit of 600W, in about 550W is normal, generally 540W to 570W fluctuations. For free to contact us. Sincerely, Chris I guess they are saying efficiency is higher with higher amperage. However with TWO flex panels I cannot run them in parallel due to the minimum voltage require by the charge controllers as seen in this video. Does anyone else have results of charging this battery with solar panels?
I have 2 100w hqst panels rated at 24.3v VOC each. Will this be able to keep up with charging demands for this pecron unit in a completely off-grid scenario running a dorm fridge, lights, and maybe some other stuff full time?
I loved ur video! Right now I'm trying to find and figure out if there is ANY portable solar generator that can handle ANY kind of decent heater?? Most run 1500 watts even the edenpure is there ANY portable solar gen that can power a heater for more than 5 or 10 mins? If power goes out indefinitely for months in NE U.S. I cant figure this one out. Thank you
Hey professor hobo, Pecron also has two small units: the p600 and the s200. Would you be able to do reviews on these sometime in the near future please?
Professor, I just received my Pecron, thanks for the discount code! Why do the instructions say DO NOT wire three 200 watt solar panels in series? Each port can handle 600 watts and up to 95 volts. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you
🤣🤣🤣 That was shameless!! Thank you for a thorough analysis of Your Pecron. 🤣 And thanks for the info about the solar panels. It's a shame about the USB ports. It makes no sense. But it is still a great price for what we're getting. Thanks for one of the funniest videos I think you've ever made! (Those cheap bast@rd5!)
Sorry if this is a stupid question but when you replicate a "solar panel" to test charging, could I do the same thing with a 48v 13ah silverfish ebike battery? My plan is to carry spare ebike batteries in the truck camper and it would be nice to use them for charging the generator if needed. It seems like it should work but it also seems weird to do this. This would be on one of the dual charging ports since it's 48v
Ok, now I'm really torn between this and the E2000. The 3100Wh capacity is pretty compelling, even if it is lithium-ion, but the E2000 costs about $600 less, has LiFePo batteries, and is expandable... But who knows when their expansion battery will be available, or how much it will cost? I need a new power station yesterday, and I have a feeling the addition of the expansion battery will add another $1,000-$1,200 to the total price.
Why? That's FOUR years of a full charge-discharge cycle daily. Then you still have 80% life. You really going to use it so much that it will be dead in 5 years?
PECRON E3000: hobos.cc/QIfv use code HOBOE3000 for $300 off.

Any chance they will make EUROPEAN model? Can this be used with a step up converter?
Still working albeit the discount is $229.90 but still good none the less.
HOW MANY CYCLES TILL 80% ? I HEAR DIFF NUMBERS 500 OR 1000 OR 2000 ?
Hay it's November so I need the new code

I want to purchase something for an entire house back up system but I honestly feel overwhelmed by all the info and choices and am pretty lame on all of this in spite of watching tons of you videos. Thanks for all your amazing research on our behalf!
Appreciate that! No, I don't offer consulting. This might help though. hobotech.tv/large-home-backup-ups-240v-solar-generator-power-stations/
@@HOBOTECH Thanks I'll check it out.. But I still need your brain! LOL
Thanks for bringing out the Junior High humor. As an original opening year GenXer, I loved it!
Oh the Jeffersons. Nostalgia ratcheted up fortissimo 🥰
Just made the purchase...had everything I was looking for except Bluetooth. Web site was a bit wonky but it was probably overloaded. Thanks for the review...hopefully you will get a response on the 100w PD port?
You had me going hobotech. Wanted this until you tested the USB ports.
LUV your sense of humor........seriously thinking of getting this Pecron due to your thorough review......thanx!
💗 the review thank you HOBOTECH you are a legend
Doc….you rock. Thanks for the lowdown on these devices.
If you think that power station is loud, just go ahead and test the ECOflow Delta Max at full discharge! Makes about 63db! LOL Great video :) :) ...watch for quicksand....and hernia! LOL
Oh I know just how loud the EcoFlow's can get especially the smaller ones. When I tested the River it was like a F16 taking off.
This was a great review, I really enjoyed the technical breakdown of this device.
I have 2 of these units and both of them step down when charge is nearly full.
@@charleswtuggle thanks. Will monitor mine during next charge. Did you use wall charger or solar (both)?
@@MrMice... Wall charger only. Have not tried solar yet.
I purchased the E3000 Pecron based on your video for emergency. In the future I’ll need to replace my 3000 watt solar system with 12, 400 watt Full River AGM batteries. They are 10 years old but still charging ok. I need to figure out if I can used my setup with lithium batteries.
Love your show! Great for dummies. I do wish you would add some info on dc-dc charging off alternator, to your reviews of future solar generators 😀
Hey Mr. Hobo and Kitty,
Just hit the buy button using your code - was cheaper than Amazon, both had free shipping too.
Love your vid's and (said with love) dorky persona 😍. Always fun and very informative.
Well, I'll let you know. Thanks for the review and the code.
I enjoy watching your videos how come you don't mention whether it has low temp charge protection?
@@imagrasshopper9510 - Presuming you need to use that many watt-hours on a regular basis, I guess the math makes sense.
@@jasonbroom7147 more gas in the tank. You don't have to use it 'till you need it.
I have to be worried about weight in a motor home. But I need the power punch when I need it. Need solar into it fast. Would
Need new input wires adapting to my solar.
The ending! That ending! ROFL!!! Thanks I needed that.
hey love the channel. thanks for great reviews and entertainment. Just wanted to mention that i seen an ad for 4 patriots
looks like they released a new solar generator. i would love to see a review of this product. im wondering if this generator is any better than the first one they released. Thanks again, keep it up!!!
@@aaronwilcott4561 is that the old model or the new one they are advertising?
Thumbs up for "Hobo Tech Knows!"
Can’t wait to see you do a review on the new anker 757 powerhouse that’s if they send you one.
Write them and ask.
@@HOBOTECH I did on their website and left a message on UA-cam. By the way I’m getting my ecoflow delta max tomorrow.
Fantastic honest information as always. I'm a fan
Thanks for that great review hobo tech
Best outro ever
Love your reviews any chance of being able to review the anker 757 powerhouse soon really interested in that unit

Perfect for a self-build weekend camper van setup without an advanced degree in Victon, just take a 100W charger for the laptop
Still got $100 off plus the Black Friday sale bringing it to $1499.
I think that's a great price. Thanks
What? No SOS LED - LOL. Nice review. Great price. Thanks for sharing
Anyone who is interested, the Hobo code still works.
Thank you so much for the detailed review! So helpful ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰
Watch the video. I show exactly what you get. You can't go by the meter it's not that accurate.
@@HOBOTECH yes, duh, I see it now. 95% on AC. I got spooked relying on the battery screen numbers. Thx Dr. Hobo. You're the best.
Dr Hobo: Is it worth the extra money for the E3000, or is the Q3000s a better option for the price in your view? You mentioned the Q3000s in passing as an option, but not whether the E3000 is worth the extra money over its predecessor. Thanks much.
Q3000S is outdated at this point.
Pretty sure the surge has to be really brief, like when a fridge condenser comes on an spikes, then drops back down.
You missed the definition of "surge"
Looking forward to a Anker 757 review!
Write them and ask.
That's quite a handle the AC charging adapter has on it, never seen that before. Wonder if it occurred to the Pecron people that those things might be a little large.
I bought the PECRON E2000LFP EXPANDABLE SOLAR SYSTEM KIT. Did I make a bad purchase?
*OUTSTANDING!*
Hello Professor,
I connected two Newpowa 240 watt solar panels in series (VOC 27.08Volts) to my Pecron and so far my peak output seems to be around 256 watts at 29 volts. Shouldn’t I be seeing it closer to the 480 combined watts. I’m in sunny south Florida, sunshine a plenty!
Should I plug each panel separately to test and compare outputs?
Thank you for any insight you can offer!
Not a bad unit, lot of power for the price. Lol, humor throughout. Ty. 👍🤣
Quicksand and Hernia is the new name of my grunge band.
this thing will power a CPAP with all heat and humidity settings off for well over a month!!! damn!!
Nice review. Pretty ridiculous about the USB-C PD port output though. I wonder which pecron pecr head thought they could get away with that with no one finding out.
FYI - The product manual states 1000 cycles to 80%. From where did the 1500 cycles come?
Also, plans to test the PECRON T6000S 5657WH 3000W for $3999?
I was told directly by Pecron the EV cells are rated 1500 and the manual is wrong
This is the response from Pecron support:
Greetings! I forwarded your question to our engineer for consultation, his response is: It is very likely that the influence of the sunlight factor, because your solar panel is flexible may not support, irradiation angle also very affect the charging power. (You can also try parallel connection, charging efficiency will be higher if parallel connection, or two solar panels are inserted into different ports for charging at the same time)
About our AC charger, it is the upper limit of 600W, in about 550W is normal, generally 540W to 570W fluctuations.
For free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Chris
I guess they are saying efficiency is higher with higher amperage. However with TWO flex panels I cannot run them in parallel due to the minimum voltage require by the charge controllers as seen in this video. Does anyone else have results of charging this battery with solar panels?
Pecron just realised the E2000lfp. Its expandable to 8kwh with expansion battery. 3500 cycle to 85%
Thanks for a very nice review. I do wish however you had mentioned the surge watts capacity.....
They claim 4000 watt surge capacity.
Excellent battery capacity score! The only problem is it is rated for only 1,000 cycles 😢
Thanks, very informative and humorous.
Thank you
This will run a 1500w heater for 2 hours.
Hey professor hobo,
Pecron also has two small units: the p600 and the s200. Would you be able to do reviews on these sometime in the near future please?
Another great review.
Thank you!
Hobotech - which panels do you recommend from your link for the Pecron E3000?
hobotech.tv/folding-solar-panels-over-200w/
Professor, I just received my Pecron, thanks for the discount code! Why do the instructions say DO NOT wire three 200 watt solar panels in series? Each port can handle 600 watts and up to 95 volts. I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thank you
I explain solar hookup in the video.
Love the trolley.
Thanks again for all your videos. I've learned a lot from you but still have lots to learn!
If you where going to run two air conditioners with soft starts, what solar battery generator would you use? Using Solar and/or wind.
One of these and a lot of batteries hobotech.tv/large-home-backup-ups-240v-solar-generator-power-stations/
Same here.. I can't sit on the fence forever so I told myself to purchase something by the end of November or forget it, lol.
only 1500 cycles? well thats a dealer breaker already
Why? That's FOUR years of a full charge-discharge cycle daily. Then you still have 80% life. You really going to use it so much that it will be dead in 5 years?
@@HOBOTECH because similar ones are over double that to 80% if i bought one of these i want to last as long as it can
@@KYLE-zo4bm But this is 55lb vs 100lb so I guess you really don't want something portable. That's what this unit is about.
Hey Professor!

This video is great!! Great video an info but what made me sub....hella funny!
So, you said it does support pass-through charging, right? Are there popular brands out there that do not? I heard maybe Bluetti?
Not anymore. It was a thing 2-3 years ago. Only the junkiest of junk now doesn't have pass through.
That’s last segment was too funny…in all honesty how many of us were wondering about the brand name…right?
