This is a pretty good video, i have watched many videos reviews, unboxing about this unit and this one is probably the best one so far, this guy take the unit to the limit and run almost every test possible not just like other youtubers that just explain a couple things that they get from internet, this is a high quaility content.
Just ran it through Hurricane Helene and now we have another one on the gulf - great power and versatility ! I looked extensively at all the brands and Pecron delivers the best mix ! Reliable! Thanks for the great info that led me buy it
How did everything go? Is your area good. Ive been watching about all the devistation. Whoa! The Pecron is still one of my favorites and 100% agree! When did you order or did you have it for the Hurricane?
I bought one of these last year I now have 3 of them. Their expansion battery's also come with a 400 w mppt controller. I bought 2 of those. It's the best bang for your buck. The expansion battery has ports as well and they are not pricey. I am like you I could care less about a brick I bought it to charge with solar and it can take a lot of sun juice!
This is one of my favorite power stations, mostly for the great solar input range. I have one running a chest freezer all the time and has been for over a year. No issues yet. I have it connected to 4 solar panels I got used that put out 32 volts each or 36 volts when not plugged in, about 900 watts worth and I have seen 650 watts in summer on the screen. I have 2 wired in series and 2 wired in parallel going to both the bigger solar inputs. I keep one set in parallel so I can charge other power stations off of it that take less than 60 volts max.
We have the following on our channel and really like them, they run our whole workshop..... e300lfp e600lfp e1500lfp & 2 ep3000 batteries (maxed out) e200l0fp & 2 eb3000 batteries (maxed out) P.S Looking forward to buying the e3600lfp also !!!!! UPDATE: We just ordered the e3600lfp a few weeks ago and are waiting for it to be delivered :) (we are going to build the 15,360wh "4 x ep3000 batteries" full system on our channel)
Thanks Joe I hooked up my 48 volt battery to it and burned down my house. You didn't tell me I couldn't. Lol I'm glad they didn't lock down this port. I think this is the one I'm going to pick up for use around my land
@@AveRage_Joewhat do you end up use for that port? I plan on using 48v battery to extend this power station. I think I would use the cable provided to connect to 48v bat using the 600w port. So this would use 48v battery to charge the Pecron. But I don't know how to use the Pecron to charge back the 48v battery
This is still the best value in the mid-sized portable power station segment. I like that it just works. I also like that it's kinda dumb...like me. :)
Would like to hear more about the E2000's options for charging from solar panels. What can be plugged in where and what is the max power allowed and how long to charge battery?
Not a bad unit and to make it perfect it would have the charger built in and instead of the weird DC connectors for charging I would put XT60 or XT90 connectors on it (like the ecoflow) It is a shame that it can't do 2000W continuously like it's advertised but I guess 1800W is good enough (at the cost of additional efficiency). Cool stuff.
I love my E2000LFP, but there's a couple of cons relative to competitors: 1. The practical surge power is ridiculously low. While power-number-wise, it's high, the surge duration is extremely low. So it will not power motors that have longer surge needs (as you noticed with your miter, same result with a gas dryer). My 1200W output power station powers my dryer no problem. It's not the surge power, it's the surge duration that's inadequate. 2. Expansion limited to 2 extra batteries (compare to Oupes for example that can support 4-6, depending on model). Pecron has indicated the overall resistance will be too low if you connect more than 2 additional batteries (and I believe this includes adding your own batteries). 3. Proprietary charge connector. I don't mind aviation-style plugs, but a standard connector such as Andersen or XT60 is much easier to get. There is similar standard aviation connector that should fit the E2000LFP, but Pecron's connector is a bit unique. 4. External power supply. There's some pros to this such as being able to replace the AC charger in case it dies, but practically, the inverters used to charge stations with built-in AC charging don't really fail. Having said all that, the price (i got it for way more than current pricing which is ridiculously good), insane efficiency, and expandability makes it a great buy. Also great is the simplicity of Pecron's extra battery connections. There's no fancy balancing procedure, etc. All batteries, including the built-in one, are just paralleled. That means if the E2000LFP fully drains, but the EB3000 still has charge, the poeer station will still work. The newest E1500LFP adds built-in AC charging and app connectivity (though sometimes app and FW updates can really screw up the usability of the power station). But you give up the great solar input power which is a much more important factor to me be than built-in AC charging and app connectivity.
If my pick-up get to hot the cooling fans will come on even with main power off I couldn't figure out when I left it in the car it would lose power. I own the E3000 and E200LFP w/ one batt
I hope you can add the 18650 project back into your future videos, in my research people are just going into lithium batteries in my region as for me, I joined the group of harvesting since last year and have a small backup but not connect in the proper way due to scarcity of materials... Please go into 18650 back... The blackout in Nigeria 😢😢 is getting worse everyday. Thanks
18650s were a cool fun project and I learned soooo much but its a ton of work and cant get them as easy anymore. LiFePO4 is so much safer and cheaper these days here at least. If I do any 18650 projects they will be for small items.
Nice little power station! I was really surprised that you could utilize their plug to connect any 24v battery. In my mind the AC charger is 50/50. I like that the power station doesn't have the extra weight, but I would be the person to take the power station away from the house and forget the charger...
I think the first thing I'd do with this is swap all those custom connectors for standard XT90s so I'd be able to interface with everything else. Why do companies think they can write their own standards and try to lock people into them? Price isn't bad, though I guess the inverter isn't pure sine wave for that price. Also their website went down while I was trying to connect to EU site!
I know you said you love everything about it but those few things, but that big ass charging brick over an integrated one? No way. Don't get me wrong, I like my E2000, but thats one of the biggest cons in my opinion - that and not having an app. The fan never turning off on the charging brick is also annoying.
So your expansion setup is bi-directional? It just makes the metering incorrect? That's super cool... Could you also hook the battery through the 5pin charge port? Maybe through the MC4 cable for cleanliness?
I don’t understand why these companies don’t just standardize on 5kw and make them usable as part of a home system, in an RV or portable application. $900-1500 seems doable. Would make them a more attractive solution that would be usable in other applications. Blah blah blah …

The newer E1500LPF model has right angle expansion battery cables - they appear to be the only one to have done this to this date.

Looks like they changed the unit vs what you have, your link goes to a unit that has a TT-30 outlet in place of 2 of the 5-20R plugs.
I bought one directly from Pecron in April and it had the TT-30 outlet. I think the ones on Amazon at the time did not.

im planning to buy this i am knowledgeable in electricals or power station, can you do a tutorial using a third party rigid glass solar panel.
Think ill buy it but im in Netherland . Is there significant diffrent from E1500LFP? That lower one have wifi and app. Is it better?
Can you run a test where you are charging and discharging at the same time.
Are those solar connectors something common or something Pecron proprietary?
Going into the power station, yeah there own proprietary thing!

Who needs quick and dirty when we can have Joe and Horace antics? Just asking..... Nice Portable Power Station or PPS..... 😁
Do you get to keep the batteries/power station you review?
Yep sure do!🤘
I like this one.
I assume you return all these, would be a lot of power there haha backup for the backup for the backup for the phone
I keep them but now that I have so many Ill be giving them away😁 All this POWAH to backup my phone😆😆

I would have got one but my credit union stopped payment. So I went to another company. I regret that decision but, it is what it is.
Hmmm wonder why they did that. Are they telling you what you can and cant buy? Which did you end up with again? Ecoflow?
@@AveRage_Joe EcoFlow and it’s working fine.

Yes have EG4 48v being charged by 800 w thru victron 100/30 that feeds the mc4 into the solar port

Yeah no app for this one. YesSir ED....C🤪😆
So 2000W AC not working as advertised, 4000W AC peak not even close. So, yeah. Stick to Ecoflow.
Can i contact you using regular email? I dont have or use facebook or instagram. Thanks
