    • @abhimaanmayadam5713
      @abhimaanmayadam5713 Рік тому +46

      NVME ssds support HMB, which lets them use system ram for their cache. You can't use them in an enclosure but if it's in your pc, it's fine.

    • @RadarLeon
      @RadarLeon Рік тому +3

      @@abhimaanmayadam5713 each transference off die, or to system memory often requires going to the cpu, and induces a latency penalty, as the drive fills up some nvme drives without cache go from 1000mb read speeds down to near hard drive levels of proformance Edit: I just like to err on the side of caution and most of the higher proformance drives are cached drives anyways and can cost the same, I have a list I found from reddit with hard details like, dram cache speed, and total memory streams, iops ect

    • @abhimaanmayadam5713
      @abhimaanmayadam5713 Рік тому +31

      @@RadarLeon right ofc, but for peeps on a budget, nvme dramless isnt bad. my current laptop has a wd sn850x and compared to the old pm991a that I had, the difference isnt that much noticable. load times are about the same, they are less (bc my nvme slot is gen3), but not much of a decrease.
      Again, budget build = some sort of compromise.

    • @abhimaanmayadam5713
      @abhimaanmayadam5713 Рік тому +4

      @@RadarLeon 670p is also a QLC drive so it has reduced endurance. Good budget drives now are basically TLC and DRAMless like the WD SN770 (which tbf is a weird drive and is probably closer to a high end drive), or a QLC drive with DRAM like the 670p. It's also PCIE Gen 3 only.
      If it was a SATA or an external enclosure situation, I would never recommend a dramless ssd, but in a desktop application, its not as much of a downside as you think.
      My comments have been getting kind of circular but basically DRAM with QLC and DRAMless TLC NVME (Specifically NVME, not SATA) SSDs are about the same. Each has a bit of a tradeoff with latency or durability. You realistically can't go wrong in either situation.
      Tldr; if you are on a budget, be patient/lucky and find a sale for a good drive (I got a 1 TB WD SN850X for around $60), you will be equally fine getting a DRAM QLC drive or a TLC DRamless drive as long as it is NVME.

    • @RadarLeon
      @RadarLeon Рік тому +5

      @@abhimaanmayadam5713 I understand your comment, regardless of hbm acess using system memory without onboard cache most of these drives become closer to the proformance of a hard drive at 90% or more capacity, unless your purposely refuse to use more than 80% of your drive.
      That being said drives like the SN850x have been fairly affordable lately and it's a very nice drive. And I believe your main os should always be a cached drive. A secondary ssd being cacheless is fine, proformance today vs a year from now when people start to wonder why their $500-2000 pc is running slow because they wanted to save $5-10 dollars

      Of course with the P34A80 with DRAM being only $4-5 more expensive, if you have room in your budget then choose that instead, but please don't give up a better SSD or better quality PSU just because DRAM good HMB bad.

I'm only using it for gaming on a laptop though so sustained write speed isn't important to me.
      If you or anyone else is willing to answer I'd like to ask a few questions. If only using a M.2 NVME SSD for gaming on a laptop is there any other main factor i should consider? Will dRAM make a difference in gaming?

    I don't know about the fan but might as well check out these two -
    1. Crucial P3 500GB PCIe 3.0 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s
    This thing might be cheaper than the team group one and also can provide a freaking read write speed upto 3500MB/s.
    2. MSI MAG A550BN 550 Watt 80 Plus Bronze SMPS
    Might as well go for this if u can't find the TT one in stock.

    We're not gonna lie. THE **Assassin King 120 SE IS WAY TOO GOOD FOR HIS PRICE !!!**
    Also did you know than for your CPU being in the top 10 greatest of the company. Another version with double the size of the Thermalright CPU cooler can cool your CPU for less than 35$ (It's the Assassin 120 SE who's unlike the king version. Have 6 heatpipe instead of 5. Double the fan and double the radiator ! 35$ !? This shit is crazy good and cool a 7950X3D or i9-14900K like this is nothing.

    the cpu cooler is nice but at the end i used a bequit pure rock slim 2 bcz. i get it new for 23€, the assassine x 120 r se white was to big for my white itx build without a glass side/front so rgb is not needed too :) is it a gaming pc without led maybe but 100% silent bcz. the temps in it never reach 60°+ at gaming and never 65°+ at benchmarks, cpu and gpu never reach it :)
    the ssd i see often but it costs at the month i look for good prices for my pc 60€ 1tb and the 1TB Kingston NV2 costs only 30€
    but 1300dollar for a i5 and a 3070?
    cpu 200€ gpu 440€ how you get 1500$ (1400€)? how much costs the mb and ram and case?
    btw. for 1500$ pc and this cpu cooler/psu/m.2 i say nothing ~

    I will never own another thermaltake PSU I had I had a 750W one for my first gameing pc I built. After like about a year or so it started acting up and couldn't give my GTX 660 enough power anymore and would cause me to crash to desktop in anything slightly intensive. I replaced it with the 850W model that was a newer generation that recently came out cause thats's all I could afford and in like a month it started happening again.

    I would rather just use the stock cooler that comes with many budget CPUs. Also, anyone in Europe is better off spending the extra money on a gold-rated PSU. Electricity is way more expensive here so you'll be saving some decent money.

    Day 1 of asking Zach if his latest 400$ gaming pc is better than a PS5 or not
    My point: it is getting more fps and it is a pc to do those extra things but a ps5 will get 4k 120fps compared to the 1080p 210fps
